The steak was cooked perfectly and it came with everything I was craving. Plus the refried beans, creama, eggs, plantains, chicharron, and warm tortilla--yum! The pupusa was different, as it's made with a different cheese here which the waitress did warn us. Because of this, it wasn't our favorite but still good. Overall this spot is popular in East Boston, I would definitely check it out! Also if you tell them it's your birthday they will sing to you and you get to wear the special hat :)

I live locally, we have been buying their food and supporting them for years, since before the pandemic. Last night we had other food from somewhere else around the corner and just wanted to get two regular / virgin pina coladas to go. But because this particular woman doesn't like black people, she did not want to serve us the drinks. Not only was her customer service terrible, she was also trying to extort / milk us for more money. whole time the store was closing in like 30 minutes, and it would've been smart to allow your business to earn more money even if it's small, on drinks while you get ready to shut the grill down. Instead, they wanted us to order something, they would have to rush to make it, and then rush us to eat it, and then kick us out because it was closing soon. Soooooo disappointing. Actually Terrible service.

Thank you, Muqueca, for warming me up…read more Fish with Shrimp Moqueca: Made in the Capixaba recipe, this version replaced red palm oil and coconut milkthem with tomatoes--which happened to be my favorite. The broth was warm, flavorful, and refreshing. The initial notes are the sweetness of onions and bell peppers, followed by the delicate aroma of cilantro, leaving a clean taste impression. The whitefish fillets are tender and flavorful, yet still retain a subtle chewiness. The Pirão sauce, made with the fish broth and tapioca starch, was rich and thick, enhancing both the saltiness and umami, even reminiscent of Cantonese style abalone sauce. The two flavors were distinct yet complementary, a true delight with rice--though fresh, higher-quality Thai jasmine rice would be better. The earthenware pot, bearing the marks of time, kept the food warm; the portion was also very generous, perfect for sharing. I ended up taking some home for a second meal. Flan: Although I was quite full, the deliciousness of the moqueca piqued my interest in trying dessert. The pudding had a smooth and delicate texture, unlike the often sticky flaky texture of supermarket flans. The egg flavor wasn't strong, while the caramel syrup was rich and smooth, with an irresistible initial bitterness followed by a delightful sweetness. Plus, the syrup was generous, making it wonderful to coat every slice of cake in it. No wonder it's their signature dessert. Hot Sauce: The homemade hot sauce was highly recommended by my server. It didn't look very spicy, but it was far beyond my tolerance. However, I must admit it was incredibly delicious, with a refreshing citrus flavor and a smooth, emulsified texture alongside the spiciness, creating a very rich flavor profile. Being unable to handle spice is a real shame in its presence. The server's movements were elegant, the service attentive, the pace comfortable, and he satisfied some of my curiosity as a cuisine lover.

Service was lovely and helpful. The food was excellent with an elevated Mexico City feel but not overly pricey. The only thing we wished was that the lunch menu had a few lighter, smaller choices. It was the same as the dinner menu and we aren't big eaters. We made it work by sharing some plates though and the fish tacos, platanos, and beans and rice were super. Will come for dinner some time.

We sat for 20 minutes while every waiter looked at us and did nothing. One girl stared at us the whole time while she folded napkins. I asked a waiter for help and he walked off and never sent anyone. The same person who seated us kept looking over at us, and still nobody came. After 20 minutes we finally asked for help again, and another 5 minutes went by before anyone did anything. On top of that, we came a few weeks earlier while they were clearly open and were told they were closed, with more than two hours left until closing time. A whole staff of people who will stare at you and not offer one bit of help or send anyone to your table. Nobody tried to fix the wait or make it right. I will never come back to this place.
