This visit was not it! We went on a Tuesday early afternoon. No one was there and still we waited 30+minutes for our food. This time they had everything on the menu, so I ordered a Philly french dip. It was so dry, but the horseradish sauce was good. Our server was great! She was patient and polite. My son was crying and she did everything to help the situation. I went to take him to change his diaper and didn't see a changing table. There was one stall that I didn't check but I'm pretty sure they didn't have one. That's annoying! The most annoying thing is we went to the mall after and bought a drink. We parked at the main entrance, which means we would have to walk back through D &B to leave. We were stopped and told we couldn't go in because we had a drink. Wtf?! I was pissed! They wanted me to walk all the eat around in 100 degree weather with a baby (It's actually a far walk around the mall exit). Thank God Dick's was just downstairs and the exit was by our car. Not sure what's up with this location specifically but you'd think it's a chain so everything should be done the same and taste the same. Well that is not the case. When they first opened we would get nachos literally once a week. Never had an issue, they came in the cardboard pizza boxes for to go and were always ready when we got there. The last 4x each time they came in a different container. I asked about the card board box each time the answer was yeah we've changed it up, so they switched to a smaller plastic container then the next time it came in a container that the hostess literally said I didn't even know we had this kind of container. Also it's never ready or correct anymore. Last time they literally didn't put chicken on one of them. The front staff are always helpful, apologetic and friendly so I'm guessing this comes down to a management problem. But we will not be back, it's not worth the stress. read more

We decided beforehand that we were going out for drinks and games and this server continued to ask if we would order food even though we had said 3 times already that we were just here for drinks. He was a bit slow, gone out of sight any time we were looking for him! We ordered our last drinks before 7 and he managed to put them in AFTER 7 when happy hour ended. So we had to find a manager to fix the drinks rung up for $12 instead of the $5 advertised at happy hour! AS WELL AS he charged us $14 for one margarita and $18 for the second one! We had never paid that much for a marg here! The manager gave me and my fiancé a game card since we had already paid for the wrongfully priced drinks. But for my friend's tab, they took $8 off, which definitely did NOT make the difference! Zero if I could. wow I haven't experienced this kind of food ever! the fish & chips is literally one big piece of tilapia looking fish. I know fish & chips is somewhat greasy because it's fried. I get that. But.. you can make crispy fish and chips that is not saturated. the fish to grease batter ratio is waaaay off. Don't be fooled by the photos. They look good right? I was excited too. open to new ideas I am... but this is just gross. underneath fish... fries were saturated with grease being absorbed from the batter. and super salty. Due to having grandchildren it was really hard to take pictures lol...BUT we have never experienced such bad etiquette by the whole staff...from the time we came up to the hostess to let them know we wanted to eat (one of the gals was literally just looking at her phone) took them a few minutes to acknowledge us and from there the hostess that took us to our table, usually you get a "how is your day going" etc. to the worse waiter ever. He was okay, but his attitude was like we were bothering him, he took a while to come to our table in between giving us the menus to our drinks. When the food came out, the people bringing it, put it at the end of the table and left it to us to distribute them, this isn't really a big deal but when it continued to happen with ALL of the people bringing the food etc makes a person wonder what type of training if any, they had. Very disappointed and trying NOT to compare to the Milpitas location in regards to the food and service there was NONE. We will not becoming back here. Our food was fine and I want to support this place as we don't have that many awesome things to do here but I had 4 kids with me very specifically asked for a cheap game card option and asked questions and come to find out instead of paying that amount I paid that amount per kid after I asked if that was the total. My son wanted to go here for his birthday so we took him. Our kids had fun at the arcade. That is about where the positive ends. My daughter liked her crispy chicken kids meal but my three boys all said they were disappointed in their burgers. My wife asked for her burger medium well and it was raw on half. I am not talking about pink in the middle, I am talking looked like the beef just got ground and was slightly seared on the outside. I had a rack of ribs. I was not a fan of the BBQ sauce but everyone's tastes are different so I was going to over look that except it tastes even worse on the way out. We said we were not coming again yet we came to join friends to watch a football game. We get the wait for a table during a big game but when there's seats at the bar and we don't even get acknowledged for 20 minutes and when are finally acknowledged it takes another 15 minutes to bring us 3 beers it's ridiculous. We had to flag down a server/bartender to get service and then they told us they would be right with us 10 minutes later we still weren't served. We finally got a server and placed an order for food and some more drinks. The drinks were served immediately the food however took almost an hour to come out. Once the next shift came on we had better service. But this just solidified our decision not to return! The worse part was that there was a group of employees chit chatting and having a great time with what appeared to be the manager in the back of the restaurant. The manager did not really leave that spot almost the entire time we were there. Not once did the manager check in on the bartenders, servers, or customers. We were a party of 8 which ordered 6 dishes. Two of them came out pretty quickly. Our server Heidi was surprised to see the rest hadn't come out. Upon checking with the kitchen, we learned that the ordering tablet had messed up and part of the order disappeared. Heidi spoke to the kitchen and the manager and made sure our remaining meals were prioritized and they came out very quickly. Heidi was incredibly responsive and ensured that we got everything we ordered. She was apologetic but I didn't feel that necessary as it was just a glitch. I don't know what to say..... Back story: I grew up in San Jose, so my first D&B was at the Great Mall. Nicely laid out. Great square footage and able to walk around. Modesto's: I was first impressed because of how new the machines are but as walking in to D&B I started to notice just how compact it is. Plus, they had half of the machines that Milpitas does. What makes you go "ooohhh and aaawww" is how new and shiny the games are. There were about six of them that didn't work, flagged down a worker, told them. After he noticed it didn't work he wouldn't even put tape over it. I asked if I was going to get my credits back and was told no. Ok...... The only fun game that was worth our time was Air Hockey. My son and I had a blast. That was worth the pricey credit. Also, the credits are a joke. 4 credits for one plinko chip or to play a game that has only one time "play". Normally, the "whack the bell" to see how strong you are, is totally reversed. You have to hit it as light as possible to get any tickets. I guess my expectations were high for them as it was part of the old Sears building and being 20 years newer than Milpitas. I don't know anything about the food or bar because we just wanted to get out of there. It was really hot in there due to how many people were in there and how small it is. Okay the place was surprising! In a good way. I forgot to take pictures of all of the games because I was so distracted, it's larger than I thought it was going to be! There is a ton of seating for food and bar side and then two sides to the arcade. I think this is great for Modesto and I don't think we had something like that here before. I can't wait to take my kids! The only thing that I would recommend is more bathroom maintenance. Every stall was dirty and the sink as well. I know this is more of the guests and not the establishment but knowing how much the guests frequent the restroom I would make those checks more often! read more

It has finally opened!!! A long wait for Modesto locals ever since they announced it arriving to the area several years back. It is located within the Vintage Faire Mall plaza right connected to Dick's Sporting Goods. Plentiful parking for a location that brings more excitement and entertainment to the 209 area. My family and I came on Wednesday evening and it was super packed! Must be because of the special 1/2 games they have this day. Not only with this amazing special they also have happy hour at select times! If you have been to any other Dave & Buster's then it won't be much of a surprise that you will see many similarities. The menu, drinks, gigantic TV, and even the games are all the same. We were able to get a table by the bar and ordered a good amount of the foods, which are all listed below with a quick review: 1. Pretzel Dogs ($12.75) - Basically pigs in a blanket. Came with five pieces with habanero honey mustard on the side. Nothing amazing and not worth for the price. 2. Cantina Nachos ($14.50) - Decent portion that is very shareable with others. Comes with a good amount of toppings and chicken. Unfortunately, SUPER SALTY! 3. Double Pepperoni Flatbread ($11.95) - This was surprisingly pretty good! Basic, but can't complain on pizza! 4. Creole Shrimp Dip ($12.75) - Pretty good! The dip definitley had a shrimp/seafood taste and paird well with the wonton chips. Although, this was also very salty the more you consume it. 5. Garlic Parmesan Truffle Fries ($9.95) - Very large amount provided. Easily shareable and nice garlic bits and truffle flavor. However, also very salty. 6. Spicy Korean Original Wings ($12.95) plus side of fries ($1.75) - This was very tasty! Good amount of meat on the wings and comes with celery, carrots, and ranch. After eating we went to the arcade/gaming area. You have to purchase a card first, which is $3 by itself, and then load up the amount of points you want to play games. Obviously, the more you spend the more points to play games. You play games to win "tickets", which can be redeemed for prizes. There is a lot of variety of arcade games to choose from creating a great experience for your family and friends to enjoy! It is the first week of opening and some games were having trouble, but luckily there were plenty of workers around to assist. If games is not your thing, of course you can just sit back at the bar or are with their gigantic TV to watch sports and have drinks. Overall, a nice touch that this area really needed. read more

It is nice to have Dave & Buster in Modesto. Although this Dave & Buster's is smaller and offers fewer games, it isn't a total loss. The claw machine is always packed with cool stuffie characters such as Rick & Morty, Family Guy, Looney Toons, and more. Shhh here's a secret, the claw machine is quite easy to win. Take a look at our photos. They also offer the car racing game called "Storm Racer" where your seat will move and shake upon impact. They don't have this game at the other Dave & Buster's we've been to. It isn't too busy here so there isn't too long of a wait to share the games with others. The place is filled with smiles and laughter from the competitive nature of all the gamers here. It is a fun place to hang out in Modesto. Can't say the same for the food here. read more
