    Chicken and beef koobideh
    Aiza B.

Yes, please! After scouring the place in SoCal (SD to Irvine), I finally a great koobideh. I grabbed the chicken and beef koobideh dinner plate... I wish they had some sides included, but, the flavor and amount were more than enough. I will be coming back. Moist... not oily, not salty.

Delayed post. Came here with coworkers to celebrate Nowruz and had a great time. It was a large group, about 30 of us,and service was very efficient, even when it came down to the bill. Used to visit often but then pandemic happened and haven't been in that long. Persian food is one of my top 10 favorites. All the different spices and flavors. Honestly I don't recall what we ordered. There was an eggplant dip that was delicious and the freshly made bread, how is it possible I don't remember the bread being this GOOD! I would come back just for the bread alone! You cannot go wrong with anything from the menu. I'll be coming back again more often as I used to in the past

The service was excellent and definitely deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, the food was not something I would go back for. We ordered faloodeh for dessert, but it was not good at all. They also had live music, and honestly, it was so unpleasant that I almost wanted to pay the musician to stop playing! Overall, the service was outstanding, but the food and atmosphere could definitely be improved.

Love this place! You can't go wrong with Persian food and Darya Orange is the best spot for it. I don't think I've ever had such succulent chicken in my life. Very flavorful and fragrant. The accompanying rice and salad are perfectly matched with the protein. Ambience is elegant and traditional, and the service is friendly and hospitable. Overall, it's a memorable dining experience and worth every bite!

Came here for my birthday and LOVED it. Their workers are super sweet and welcoming which was a great start to the night. We ordered the Shirazi salad and hummus to start. For meat we got beef, lamb, and chicken koobideh. We had pickles and rice and veggies which paired so well with everything. The meat was so juicy and the rice was perfect texture. Absolutely loved it! No valet parking

Darya has been on my list, though the one in LA, not here. I visited on Father's Day in the afternoon, and there were many tables dining in. Amongst our friend group of young adults, one of the funniest recounts was how the staff member only said Happy Father's Day to one individual and not the rest of us - whom were coincidentally not celebrating, though we did not know til later. One of us came for juicy chicken, and we were initially disappointed to hear that they had a special Father's Day menu which did not include that. We instead ordered off the condensed menu menu for items like dough, lamb / beef kabobs, etc. We had their borani and yogurt based dip and a pitcher of dough to start off, and since that order, service was nonexistent unless we actively flagged someone down - including water refills. Once all of our entrees arrived, we all agreed that it was not impressive or normal; most of the meats were dry and very bland, which is unlike the Persian food that any of us had eaten - and we have had quite a bit before. The flavor and experience were something that not even sumac could've fixed. Was it perhaps that none of us were Persian that we were barely checked on and had to actively ask for everything? Or perhaps this was an off day - but no Father's Day? These questions may remain unanswered, but we all know which Persian restaurant to call a regular, and it's not this one.

I've been coming to Darya since I was a kid, and it's still one of my all-time favorite spots. As someone with a Persian grandma who's an amazing cook, I grew up around great Persian food, and this place definitely holds its own. Every time we're in the area, it's a must-visit. We've brought friends and family here over the years, and without fail, they fall in love with it too. The food is consistently delicious, the service is always warm and attentive, and the ambiance is elegant yet welcoming. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, you're in for a treat with live music and belly dancing, it adds such a fun, lively energy to the evening. Highly recommend it for anyone wanting an authentic and memorable Persian dining experience.

We had a wonderful experience at Darya Restaurant. We started with mast-o-moosir and tahdig topped with ghormeh sabzi and gheymeh--every bite was comforting and perfectly cooked. They also brought out freshly baked bread with butter to start, which was a great touch. For the main course, we ordered the fesenjoon and the soltani kabob. The fesenjoon was outstanding--hands down my favorite I've ever had. Rich, perfectly balanced, and unforgettable. The soltani kabob was also excellent, cooked just right and very flavorful. Everything we tried was delicious, the staff was very friendly, and the service was great from start to finish. Highly recommend if you're craving quality Persian food.

Family Platter - 5/5 The standout for me was the beef kebab. Honestly, it was one of the best kebabs I've had--so juicy, flavorful, and cooked really well. We actually ended up ordering two or three additional skewers because it was that good. Definitely the highlight of the meal! Kashke E Bademjan - 5/5 The eggplant dish was also amazing. Rich, flavorful, and a great addition to the meat. Dips - 5/5 We also tried the tzatziki and hummus/salad dip, and everything was really good. The pita bread was also a nice touch--they kept bringing us more, which was perfect because we were definitely eating a lot of it with all the meat and dips. Service was great as well. Everyone was attentive and kept the pita coming, which I really appreciated. Overall, this is a great spot for a date night or a family meal if you're looking for something a little more upscale while still getting really good, flavorful food. The beef kebab alone is worth coming back for. Definitely recommend!

Now I will be craving the delicious Aleppo hot sauce knowing I have to brave a nightmare parking lot. It's a teeny tiny parking lot with odd angles and bottlenecks with a surprising amount of restaurants sharing it. Makes zero sense. After circling three times I dropped my wife off and parked across the street risking getting towed. There's a ton of construction so hopefully more parking is on the way. That said, food is outstanding. Service was also perfection. Cuisine here is from Syria so there a lot of interesting dishes I haven't seen before. We started with deep fried spring rolls stuffed with akkawi cheese imported from Syria. Expensive but order it. I ordered the "khashkhash" kabob plate which was 4 grilled kefta kabobs served on a surprisingly spicy sauce of tomatoes and Aleppo peppers. It was served with a mound of buttery rice sprinkled with Aleppo peppers and a cabbage salad. Honestly the best kabops I've ever had. Absolutely loved the flavors. I devoured the whole plate while eyeing the parking lot across the street for tow trucks. Portion could easily be shared. My wife went with the Gyro flatbread. I scoffed saying "this isn't a Greek restaurant" but the joke was on me because I was envious. House made flat bread topped with gyro, tzatziki, pickled onions, tomatoes, feta, sumac, and Aleppo peppers. I took a few bites and retracted my previous scoff. They had a large list of mocktails. I had the Vimto Mojito and my wife had the margarita. Both creative and flavorful. Lastly I tried the "Ashta" for dessert. It's an Aleppo signature per the menu and is a pudding like dessert of clotted cream, pistachio, strawberries, and honey. It's simple yet satisfying. Took me a few bites to acquire the flavor but I loved it more with each bite. My wife didn't care for it. They moved by Angel Stadium from their Brookhurst spot. Great place except the parking. Reservations are odd too. $25 penalty PER PERSON if you miss your reservation. It was definitely motivation to find parking.
