We ordered a BLT, fried chicken with chorizo gravy, fried shrimp with string onions, and mashed potatoes with a Caesar salad, and a mango bowl. As I closed the burger and brought it to my mouth for the first bite, it was like the music video for Loverboy's Almost Paradise song. I'm not even kidding -- not only was the burger solid, but there was an appropriate bacon overload. Some bacon fell out, but there was still plenty of bacon in the burger. Oh, and don't worry -- I didn't leave a fallen bacon behind. I will post a picture of the burger. I had ordered onion rings as well, but truthfully I never made it to them. I was full about halfway through my burger. I devoted all of my strength to taking down edible work of art. Man won with the burger, but the onion rings were orphaned. If you're driving between Houston and San Antonio, stop by. They take all major credit cards. It's only 2 minutes or so off the highway. I can't wait to stop back by this place. For my coffee I really enjoyed the iced Golden Ticket coffee I got that included a caramel and a hazelnut flavor with a nice house made cream added to the top. It was so tasty! For food it was hard to choose. Everything from "brekkie", or breakfast, to lunch looked so good as listed on their menu. I ended up with one of their "Handhelds" of the Besto Pesto that included sliced turkey, homemade pesto (nut-free too!), mayo, and some delicious house made pickles. This sando came with a side of house made chips as well and was the portion for my lunch. Since I was driving back to Austin (an hour+ away) I decided to get through all of what was on my plate and not take any leftovers home but I could've!!! I really loved their decor and the long large and beautiful wooden community table they had near the back of the cafe. I saw a whole group of women (more than 6 of them!) gathered around, chatting, and having tea. I assumed they were locals because like them, I would be hanging out here all day with my laptop and/or friends all day if I could. Highly recommend coming in and checking out what you can find to have while here. From coffees, breakfast, lunch, and even refreshing tasty sparkling drinks you will find something you want to have and probably keep coming back for in the future. When I am in the area again, this will definitely be part of my plans in stopping into and eating at again.

I wanted to love this restaurant because the shop itself is adorable, and the service was friendly and attentive. However, the food and drinks were incredibly disappointing. We were served burnt bacon twice. It was so overcooked it was completely black and inedible. How does that happen not once but twice? On top of that, the coffee was terrible--they forgot to add the syrup we ordered, leaving it bitter and unbalanced. To make matters worse, they forgot an entire plate for our table, so one person was left sitting there with nothing while the rest of us tried to make do. It's a shame because the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff was nice, but the kitchen clearly needs some serious improvements. I wouldn't recommend coming here until they address these issues. read more

IT'S NOT WORTH IT! Whatever you do, don't order a white chocolate mocha here. They'll tell you they can make it great! Then they don't know what goes in it. Even if you say you don't like it they'll still charge you. Missed breakfast by 10 minutes in an empty restaurant on a Friday. 2 eggs and a piece of bacon is all I wanted. Then one waitress said the chicken strips were frozen. Other one said they were hand breaded. Didn't order anything because I'm not buying a burger when Robert is right across town. Wasted 6 bucks on a coffee. Left the whole coffee because it was literally undrinkable. Maybe training your waitstaff would be beneficial. Because simply being a cute place doesn't equate to substance. read more
