Walked in at 8:22pm on a Saturday, although they were cleaning up we got waited on with a smile! We had lemonade & enchiladas, service was prompt and food was absolutely delicious! I needed to find a place that is close to a supercharger and this place is across the street. They had plenty of handicap parking and a ramp for my wheelchair. That's even before we get to the coffee and food. I can't remember when I've had such great service and the food was so good I don't have words. This place is worth the trip. This place was one of my favorite spot while hunting in the area. Me and buddy would eat breakfast, lunch and dinner here. It's been a minute but looks like they renovated the place. The staff is always friendly, happy and welcoming. What I like about this place it that they use real refried beans . Most places used canned beans and this place does not. Food is always great. About two years ago the pork chops were massive. I guess due to inflation, everyone it trying to make ends meet. Nope. Horrible service. We waited 45 minutes for our food, three plates. While we waited there were people that had come in after us not only get their food but also finish eating. One plate was cold, the tamales were cold and already breaking apart because they had sat and the juices from the sauce broke down the tortillas. Rice and beans had no flavor. Awkward place. Soooo - I saw good things on Yelp for this restaurant, and it was around 1/2 way between San Antonio and Houston, which was the perfect location to meet family for lunch. When we arrived, it was St. Patrick's Day / Sunday at noon. The place was packed. The only tables were in the corner - which was fine. We waited for someone to seat us, but they never came - so we sat ourselves. We waited for about 10 mins for someone to come and get our drink order, bring chips and give us a menu. We decided on the best enchiladas verdes in honor of the day, a steak fajita salad, and an order of cheese enchiladas. We waited about 10 minutes for our server to come with our drinks (tea all around) and to take our orders. Then... we waited about 20 minutes for our food. Are you catching a theme here? The service is sub-par at best... BUT - the food was decent overall. Steak on the salad was a bit leathery, but the enchiladas were a hit. The salsa was really tasty, and the tomatillo sauce was fair at best. I'd go back, but I'd go only knowing that I need a lot of time... and that I need to order the food enchiladas. read more

I came across Josesitos on the maps and read some decent reviews and we decided to try this place out for ourselves. DO NOT JUDGE A PLACE BY THE WAY IT LOOKS FROM THE OUTSIDE. This local Mexican joint has a friendly staff. You can tell they enjoy making their customers happy. Prices were reasonable. The service was excellent. The food we ordered was top notch Mexican food. In all seriousness if you're ever craving some Mexican food while in the area or just passing by on I-10 this is the place to come eat. read more

I came to this place once but I will never again. I gave the lady at the register my money and she threw it back at me because I was a dollar short. I was the only one in the restaurant at the time and got blatantly disrespected. I suggest to go by the other Mexican restaurant right up the street for a friendly atmosphere. They don't deserve one star. I really hope this helps the staff to correct their behavior so it never happens to anyone again. read more

Stopped here on the way back from New Braunfels and loved this little joint. The sauce was spicy and chips home made. Quesadillas were good and fresh and the mini tacos were good. I really liked the roasted jalapeño that came with my mini taco plate. Not sure what spice is on the jalapeño but it was so good. You know it's legit homestyle Tex-Mex when the salsa comes out in a squeeze bottle. That alone would merit a good review. But two things give this a great review. Very good Tex-Mex home cooking served quickly and excellent service. The fajita tacos are on point, well seasoned, and even better with the squeeze bottle salsa. I ordered the special. Noticed people that came in after me received their food and never saw my waitress again. Finally I stopped busboy and he checked on my food. They had lost my order. Everyone in our party was very pleased and all said they would stop here again on road trips! We are from Houston and have access to some great TexMex and this place met our expectations. We're locals and frequent this place. It's improved so much over the years! I've tried everything from the enchiladas to simple ground beef tacos and fajita tacos. It's all exceptional! Service is wonderful and attentive. The ONE time my husband had a complaint, it was fixed promptly, no questions asked. Really respect their business ethic. Definitely doesn't look like much of a place to eat when you're driving on the interstate feeder road, but this place has some pretty good qualities. First of all, let me preface this by saying NO Mexican food restaurant is getting 5 stars unless they have great salsa. The salsa here is thin and runny - and lacks flavor. It tries to make up for it with heat, but that's literally all it is - heat. No bueno. The chips are good, so that's a plus. As for the food, I thought it was great! I only have one complaint - their plates aren't big enough. I'm not talking about the amount of food - I'm taking the physical plates! They literally had to stack my taco on top of my rice, which made it a little soggy on the bottom. But the taste was great! I had the Super Mexican plate, which has two enchiladas, one taco (kind of a "mini" taco and a tamale. If you're ever driving along Interstate-10, westbound, between Houston and San Antonio, there is a little town called Flatonia that has the best Mexican restaurant in America! I was traveling from Georgia, to San Antonio, and came across this place, just off I-10. The tacos were perfect; the cilantro, onions, and salsa were amazing! Those taco shells had to be homemade because they were thick and soft. I wish we had Josesitos in Georgia! The prices are not bad, and the food is worth it! The staff is very nice, too! read more

Spotted this place across from the new gas station on the North side of I10. I figured that since the local PD was in the lot, then it was worth a shot. The tortilla chips were awesome and the tea was freshly brewed. I wasn't very pleased with the speed of service but that's to be expected in a small town, Mom and Pop style restaurant. The wait was worth it as everything was prepared fresh and served piping hot. The size of the fajita meat pieces was unfortunate, but that is minor given the quantity served. Amazing food! Stopped in here mid road trip from Houston to San Marcos. Food is amazing! Chicken fajitas were cooked to perfection, salsa and queso was to die for. They didn't have any desserts, but all of the food was enough to fill me up. Although the restaurant is a little dirty with only 2 restrooms, I have to say the food was top level. read more

Went in here cause Joel's bbq was closed. I ordered a carne asada burrito and an ice tea to go. I got a runny asss bean burrito with a tiny sprinkle of shredded beef. Stopped in after a visit to Shiner, food was good. Service was not the best, employee was nice but rarely checked on us or filled up drinks. Had to ask several times for more salsa until they just brought our party a squirt bottle full of Salsa.
