    Salmon tartare
    Jody W.

Stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner yesterday. The location was beyond convenient since the restaurant is attached to the Courtyard Marriott (and we didn't feel like going terribly far). We started with some complementary warm bread...more like crostini...with whipped butter. We ordered a bottle of Syrah and decided on the salmon tartare appetizer. The plan was to share the salmon but we were told that it was rather small. On the contrary...the portion was actually rather generous: chopped pieces of raw salmon combined with a little bit of mayonnaise and onion; topped with arugula and a small piece of tomato. Underneath was a lovely avocado purée.... served with a side of that delicious bread. We were going to order another appetizer and then entrées. We had the nachos and only ate a little bit before we had to call it quits. Got full fast! The nachos were very good and served with plenty of jalapeños. The menu is extensive with plenty of variety. The service was a little bit slow but we did arrive between lunch and dinner services. We also weren't in a rush so we didn't mind the relaxed pace.

Another work even here. I have to say the service at this restaurant is excellent. Our party was large, around 18-20 ppl. We had around 8 appetizers to share. That's 8 different appetizers each. And every single one of them was delicious. For mains we had 2 mains... yes I know I sound like a pig but this was a work event. We had the Italian sausage pasta and a 16 oz steak. The pasta was good not amazing. I thought I wouldn't have room for the steak but boy was I wrong. The gravy that came with the steak was soooo good I finished 75% of my steak even though I was so full. As for dessert I got a pistachio ice cream. It was so smooth and it came with a cannoli. Amazing. Once again I was rolling out of the restaurant. I definitely will be back.

Crepes with caramelized apples and cheddar, yum!

My husband and I walked in on a Friday night and while it was busy, we were still able to get a table. We ordered a variety of bites to enjoy, including the seafood poutine which was a very generous portion! The Octopus was cooked perfectly and we really enjoyed the sauce it was served with. The tartare was delicious as well. Everything was high quality and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and efficient, but we didn't feel rushed by any means.

And, that's the exactly the focus here: Lobster Rolls, Canadian Oysters and plentiful seafood selections. The freshness and distinctive quality of these delicacies make Pincette an emerging staple of the area. Having opened in 2021 as part of a local restaurant group, the dishes are crafted by Chef Khelil Ben Ammar and his team. Paired with a list of Canadian wines, this is a great spot for pairing Quebequis cold climate varietals with the delicate flavors of local seafood. The environment has a "medieval cozy" vibe, with exposed stone walls and contemporary design details. An excellent establishment for seafood lovers.

The service was impeccable from start to finish. Several servers assisted us throughout our meal, including the person I believe is the owner. We ordered a bottle of the house wine, which was a delightful Cabernet. Our appetizers were served quickly, and although they were out of the pollo Toscana, the owner recommended the ravioli, which was wonderful. Everything is clearly homemade, and they even have a menu to order items to cook at home. Additionally, they were cognizant of allergies and communicated any possibly issues of cross-contamination. It was wonderful to have an authentic restaurant experience in a place that normally caters to tourists. I highly recommend Salumi Vino if you are craving Italian cuisine in Montreal.

For starter, I shared polpetta, the veal meatballs (2 for CAD$18). The waiter warned us it would take a bit longer to come out. The meatballs had good seasoning, but it was not hot!? We found it weird that if they took so long to make it, why was it cold inside? For pasta, I had the papardelle con ragu CAD$36. The pasta was al dente, very delicious. I recommend this dish! I also tried the ravioli con manzo CAD$34. This ravioli had braised beef inside. I honestly had low expectations because I don't usually care for ravioli. The flavor was good, and the beef was not dry. Credit card/Apple Pay accepted. Bathroom inside to the right. Indoor + outdoor seating. Passed the vibe check.
