I been craving Yemeni food for a while and there aren't many restaurants that have them. This place has several Yemeni dishes. The chicken Mandi was very authentic and delicious. The lamb and rush dish was also amazing. The bread is so good you cannot stop eating it. The appetizer baba ghanoush was fresh and excellent. We wanted to try several other dishes but they had run out of them and there were couple dishes only offered on Fridays. We will be back and try other dishes soon.

A refreshingly new restaurant in Vienna. A mix of middle Eastern food! The restaurant is in soft launch so service may be a little slow, but the menu is excellent and food is something new to the area. I've posted pics of the menu which will hopefully be of help. I highly recommend either of the lamb and rice dishes. The hummus was excellent and the unique pita...it was just made and huge was perfection! The grape leaves, kibbeh, chicken on rice were all very good.

I had the hummus and Iraqi kibbeh, and then the Haneeth (roasted lamb on saffron rice) and two orders of Iraqi pita bread.

Where should one go if they want the most tender of lambs with food the slaps the living out of…read moreyou? There are many answers but the answer for today is Marib. Marib is a Yemeni restaurant located in a strip of restaurants and grocery stores originating from different parts of the world. Marib knows how to do their lambs. Ordered the hummus with lamb and it came with a crisp yet fluffy bread. Then ordered a Lamb Haneeth and let me tell you NOT ONLY the lamb is tender but the rice is so flavorful! I come here quite regularly and will keep on doing that. Umar approved. 4.5/5

This was my first experience at a Yemeni restaurant, and it turned out to be an incredibly pleasant and flavorful introduction. We were served half a lamb, head included, laid beautifully on a large platter of rice. But first, the restaurant itself. It was refreshing to see a place that uses real cutlery, proper plates, and actual tablecloths. I much prefer tables and chairs over booths, which often give off a fast-food chain vibe. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, though there was some drilling and repair work going on--likely related to safety or exit signage--so that's understandable. Now to the food. The rice was fluffy and deeply infused with flavor from the lamb, clearly absorbing the richness of the long, slow cooking process. The broth had rippled into the rice, creating an incredible depth of taste. If you've had biryani, this was somewhat similar, but with its own distinct character. The lamb itself was exceptionally tender--falling off the bone and melting in the mouth. For anyone who usually avoids lamb due to its strong aroma, this dish is a must-try; there was no overpowering "lamb smell" at all. The meal was accompanied by a fresh salad and two side sauces--one tomato-based and another green sauce that was extremely spicy, so proceed with caution. The mint lemonade deserves a special mention: easily the best I've had. Not overly sweet, clearly made from fresh ingredients, and perfectly balanced. We ended the meal with tea and a warm dessert that was buttery, comforting, and topped with cream--an excellent finale. This was a completely new culinary experience for me, and I left the restaurant feeling like my palate had leveled up. Highly recommended--definitely a place worth checking out

We had a reservation to make sure we got a table, and the restaurant was completely full when we arrived. The only downside was that after being seated outside, we felt a little forgotten for the first 30 minutes or so. No one came by with water or to check in, and it seemed like the staff may not have realized a new table had been seated until we flagged down the outside host. There were also swarm of flies hovering around the outdoor tables, which another table pointed out and then we started noticing too. Aside from that, the experience was good overall. The inside dining area definitely had a dressier vibe compared to the patio seating, and once we were helped, the food made up for the slow start.

That made the experience feel even more special in hindsight. We walked in on a Monday night without reservations (clearly a theme for us!), not knowing they were needed. Thankfully, they were able to seat us in the bar area, which turned out to be a perfect spot for a relaxed dinner and a glass of wine. We ordered a mix to share: hummus, spanakopita, kofte kebab, and adana kebab. Everything was delicious, but the spanakopita really stood out. It was a bit unexpected--not layered like the traditional version, but more of a rolled presentation. Even so, the flavors were wonderful and elevated in a way that made it memorable. The only slight disappointment for me was the wine selection. The red wines leaned more dry than I typically prefer--I tend to go for something more fruit-forward--but it didn't take away from the overall experience. Dessert was the one miss. We were really hoping for baklava, which wasn't on the menu. Instead, we ordered the walnut delight. While it had all the right flavors, it didn't quite deliver the wow factor we were hoping for. That said, the food, atmosphere, and overall experience were still impressive. I was excited to learn that Zaytinya has locations beyond D.C., including closer to home in the Bay Area--so I'll definitely be visiting again. Highly recommend, and maybe make a reservation!

I got there after 6pm. It was packed. It was my first there and had no idea what I was getting into. The menus doesnt explain much nor were prices mentioned. Its like $39.99 They also tacked on a service fee. Which is deceiving since its not mentioned upfront in the menu. You find out when you get your bill. The service was 5 stars. The young man very attentive and friendly. Ushered our dirty tables and brought us our drinks. I had minty lemonade which I recommend if your gonna eat a lot. Here's my gripe. Its very important to label food. None of the food trays or stations were labeled. I have several food allergies and I had no idea what was what. I had to ask what was this or that. One tray had rice and I saw something that had deep fried crispy something. I thought it was chicken... it was fish :( The hummus was good though. The baklava meh. The pita bread was good. Some rice tray had kabob type of meat but it was lukewarm. For the price I paid, its not worth it. Please label your trays. Im give this place another try with my husband after Ramadan. , I saw on the dessert menu they have Knafeh.. a delicious middle eastern dessert that I love. Can't wait to try that.
