Food is great, price is nice. The only thing is that they ran out of Diet Coke. Lots of people for a small place which suggest it is really a good option

Had a wonderful experience dining here with my family for dinner! The staff was incredibly friendly, and food was brought out consistently when it would run out. There is not too much seating, but the quality of the food is amazing. I loved all the chicken and various meat kabobs, along with the carrots and raisins, and humus & pita. There is a diverse selection, and is so worth it. I will be returning!

I recently went to Shishkabob Express with co-workers for lunch. We were given a number of plates so we can use a new one each visit to the buffet table. There is a good selection of vegetarian dishes and, of course, kabobs. Dishes are refilled quickly, which was impressive. I enjoyed the rice, roasted veggies, chicken kebobs, and bread. For around $20+ per head, Shishkabob Express is impressively delicious. The staff was quite accommodating. The buffet table is clean. The restroom was clean as well. I highly recommend and would love to return soon!

I hit this place up about 2 months ago while visiting a friend in Virginia. I didn't know anything about the place except that it was a kebob buffet and reasonably priced. The place is located in a strip mall and has a totally non-descript vibe, which I love. Inside, there are a few tables and the buffet area is off to the side. I was pretty surprised that the buffet was $16 / person for all you can eat for lunch on a weekend. That's good pricing in my book. They don't have an overwhelmingly huge selection of stuff, but the stuff they do have is excellent. From what I remember, they had ground beef, ground chicken, and tandoori chicken kebobs. My favorite was the ground beef kebob but all of them were excellent. The rice was tasty and I think they had chicken biryani which was great. I think they also had a few different types of curry and lentil dal, which I love. The chickpea dish and grilled vegetables were great too. I had about 3 plates of food and didn't even get dessert cause I was so full. So I'd definitely give this place 5 stars because the food was excellent and the price was on point too. The only bad thing about this place is that they don't put out a lot of food at one time and the kebob drawers got a little bare from time to time. I think that'd be the only thing I'd critique. Otherwise, this is my type of place.

Time for an update!! This place has done A LOT! MAJOR CHANGES since my last review years ago! Honestly to stay open after COVID they are heroes!! Their price didn't go much higher too! $15 not bad at all!! They maintained consistency ! Now every time you go you find the same great items and the same great taste! Well seasoned! 4 different types of Kabobs ! Ground beef and ground Chicken are my favorite! Then the spicy grilled chicken and the grilled chicken! 4 type of Rice ! Multiple entrees !! 2 salads , many appetizers !! Dessert! It's endless varieties!! You really have to give it a try and go hungry! .. don't forget to pray for me!

From the buffet: Seasoned rice with ground beef kabob and fries.

We went on a saturday. It was $15 flat per person (tax included) for their all day buffet until 6pm. For a late lunch around 4pm, they were still checking and replenishing the food in the buffet as we were dining which was great. My favorites from the buffet were the ground beef kabob, spicy chicken kabob and fries. The meat was very tender and went well with the seasoned rice. For desserts, they offered milk pudding w/ cinnamon and flan. Both were delicious but on the sweeter side. The bread was nothing to write home about. The place was clean and the cashier lady was nice. Due to covid, each person gets 3 large plastic plates and a soup plate with to start off with (you can ask for more plates if needed). Would revisit again as the food was pretty good overall.

Friendly atmosphere. Food is good for a buffet. You are given 3 plates (styrofoam) and a bowl for the buffet at $17ish (2023 prices increase due to inflation) For the price, I believe it's worth it.

A selection of different food from the buffet.

Amazing. I tried the buffet and the selection was not only robust and extensive, but delicious as well. I had the best ferni (milk pudding) I have ever eaten. The buffet was self serve, reducing the interaction I had with the staff, but the employee at the cash register was friendly and eager to get me more plates. The building had a nice, cozy interior with enough tables to sit multiple people. The place filled quickly with customers but never felt cramped, a testament to the good food the restaurant offered. Tables were cleaned frequently and all the food looked and tasted fresh. Highly recommend.

Going back to the food, it was poor from beginning to end. The grape leaves tasted worse or at least as bad as some canned grape leaves. It was not fresh, you could tell from the rice inside and the way the grape leaves broke when you bit into them. The fattoush salad didn't seem to have enough parsley and mint and it was most a lettuce salad. The adeni tea was plain weird. It didn't taste like tea at all. The kabsa felt like rice had been mixed with curry. I guess that's why the guy was asking how spicy we wanted it. Typically that is not a question when ordering kabsa. The lamb chops were not good either. The meat was tough, as was the meat for some of the other dishes. It's unfortunate because we were excited to try this place ever since we saw that it was opening. There was maybe 1 other customer when we were there and I guess it makes sense now. Hope they improve or else they are going to struggle.

I first tried the assorted kebabs. Unfortunately, the chicken had dried out and the kofta felt too crumbly. The chicken rice dish had quite aromatic rice but underseasoned chicken; seasoned rice alone can't substitute bland chicken drumsticks. The lamb rice dish had both aromatic rice and juicy, well seasoned lamb. I ended up combining the lamb pieces with the chicken rice. Out of curiosity, I tried a piece of their fried chicken. It proved juicy and not too oily. It would do well as a standalone appetizer in most restaurants. I also tried something that looked like lasagna, but without tomato. It tasted, to my uncultured palate, like a lasagna with some sort of cream or bechamel-like sauce. I quite enjoyed it. For dessert, my friend convinced me to try what I had initially passed over as oatmeal or tapioca pudding. The Omi Ali proved quite delectable, like a cross between bread pudding and oatmeal but with more nuanced spices and sweetness. I added it to my short list of desserts I enjoy, since I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Overall, I appreciated the breath and variety. Some hits and misses are to be expected at a homely, ethnic neighborhood style buffet.

Dear Joon Management,…read more My family and I have been regular customers at your restaurant since March because we truly enjoy your excellent Persian food. I have also brought many coworkers and friends to introduce them to your restaurant. Unfortunately, during every visit over the past several months, the rice has been excessively salty. It tastes as though salt was added to the rice rather than the rice being properly seasoned. In May, I brought eight guests, and nearly everyone left their rice untouched. In early July, I returned with four people, and once again no one ate the rice. We mentioned the issue to our waiter, who was very polite and said he would inform the manager and the cook. On the third Wednesday of July, I came with two friends, and once again none of us ate the rice. I spoke with the manager, who was very kind and assured me she would discuss the issue with the cook. Unfortunately, despite reporting the problem more than once, nothing has changed. If this had happened only once, I would not be writing this email. However, after several disappointing visits, I expected that our meals would have been replaced or that we would not have been charged for food that was left uneaten because of the overly salted rice. I respectfully request that you consider providing a refund or another appropriate resolution for our most recent visit. More importantly, I hope this issue is corrected so future customers can fully enjoy your excellent food. If our feedback is important to you, I would appreciate hearing from you. I would also like to share your response with the friends and coworkers I have encouraged to visit your restaurant. My name is David A., and my email address is Shirpelang@gmail.com.
