Are you near Peoria? Are you hungry? Are you thirsty? You need to stop by this coffee shop for an epic experience of coffee meets croffle. This is a Yemini Coffee shop. Step 1 order a coffee drink or even a chai. Step 2 order a croffle (waffle meets croissant) We stopped in for a late Breakfast on a Thursday Morning. I saw a viral tik tok video and had to come make a stop here. Service was great ! Owner is awesome! We loved the pistachio Nutella croffle and strawberry Nutella croffle. The croffles are light, fluffy and croissant like. We washed it all down with a strawberry shortcake latte. The latte was great too! We will be back!

A great local business. The staff are super friendly. Their coffee is really good. Get the Honey comb Bread ( I would say it is a must try). I got the Biscoff Croffle (a bit on the sweeter side, but it is super crunchy). Very good. They also have the Dubai Dar chocolate cup. Definitely, stop by here if you are around Peoria.

Yemen has some yummy coffeehouse offerings. I had seen a new coffeehouse was opening up in Peoria a few months ago and quickly put it on my radar. After life getting busy for awhile, I finally found time during a vacation to pop in with Maria since we haven't had a coffee chat for awhile. We parked on the side of the building where there is a little bit of parking, maybe for up to 10 cars comfortably. We headed inside and were greeted by a very nice, very modern coffeehouse. I wasn't sure what to expect since it was a Yemen-themed restaurant but this place has some modern-day vibes. We were greeted by some friendly baristas. I grabbed my usual americano and for once, I got a pasty to go with it. I originally wanted what I thought was naan bread but turns out it was a beef-filled bread thingy. I said I was looking for more of an easy eating bread item and they pointed out something else on the menu and I said that that was fine. Maria got their Brown Shaken latte and I bought it for her since her birthday was right around the corner. For two drinks and a big pastry thingy, it was around $20. Not too bad, considering my drink was $5 and the other things were around $7. It did take awhile for our drinks to come out. This place was hopping! There were a lot of college kids coming and going during our time there. One group told the baristas that the coffeehouse was trending/going viral on TikTok so maybe that has something to do with the level of business they had going on. My mystery pastry came out first. It was a really soft bread or pastry with cream cheese filling and honey drizzled on top and it was warmed up. While the honey was a bit more than I cared for, the whole thing was absolutely delicious. I would get this again in a heartbeat but ask them to go light on the honey so it wasn't too sweet. The drinks finally came out and the americano was really good at first and then kind of tapered off to decent as I got through it. I took a quick sip of Maria's drink and while we were told it was brown sugar, it may have been a syrup flavoring versus actual brown sugar. It tasted good but tasted a bit like something else. The whole time we were there, the place stayed busy except for like a 3 minute period. It makes me super happy to see a local place get a lot of business. They are what shape and make cities unique. I know all my friends on Snapchat were asking me what the mystery pastry was and they all sounded really interested in checking the place out. I would definitely join them in coming here if they needed a coffee copilot.

Absolutely wonderful! Fabulous selection of rich, wonderful coffee and I tried their Dubai Chocolate Strawberries which was life altering...one of those When Harry Met Sally experiences! The service is warm and friendly. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Great experience trying a new type of coffee! I got the Mafawar and my partner got the cappuccino. The Mafawar took longer than expected because it is made fresh for each cup, which was okay but maybe should be written on the menu (if it's not already there). The Mafawar was a milky and warm spiced drink that was not super heavy on the coffee flavor but was easy to drink and comforting. The cappuccino was also good and made with the special coffee that is unique to Dar Al, so the cappuccino had a warm spiced flavor. We picked up a date cookie -- yum I could eat those daily! Paired perfectly with the coffee. The atmosphere was nice and had space to sit or study even if it was smaller overall. There were maybe two tables and chairs and some window seats. Plus some chairs along the wall. The staff were friendly and inviting and I would go back again if we lived in the area. The reason for 4 stars is because the service was a little slow, or unexpected, since I thought the Mafawar was going to be a type of drip coffee or more quickly made. So the menu could use some clarify, but the staff also could have told me that if I had just asked.

She recommended the Cuban Pulled Pork Sandwich. My sandwich was huge and contained a large portion of pulled pork meat. It was delicious and the homemade chipotle bbq mayo made it all the more satisfying with its rich smoky flavor! The Cuban-style black beans were right out of Miami! Very nicely prepared and included green peas, carrots, corn, and bell peppers, as well. My dining companion, for her part, ordered the Falafel platter, with a side order of gyro meat. The falafel (a dozen), were fresh, tasty, and just the right consistency. These were served with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pita, and hummus. The side order of gyro meat featured a generous portion of decadently succulent lamb shavings and included two portions of homemade tzatziki sauce. Everything we ate was prepared to perfection and could easily compete with exceptional restaurants in Chicago! Yes, the food at One World is that good. As for the service, our waitress Quincy was friendly and professional. As for the ambiance and decor--we arrived ahead of the lunch crowd, so it was pretty quiet. The decor, however, is nicely done. The premises were clean and well maintained. Ditto the restrooms. The restaurant is actually huge. There are multiple dining areas and in the summer there is an outside patio behind the restaurant, as well. As for pricing and affordability--quality costs, and the food here is definitely a cut above. That being said, the owners have priced the entrees quite reasonably considering the generous portion-size and quality of the food. My overall opinion? If you want a dining experience worthy of comparison to the best Chicagoland has to offer, but don't want to make the long drive--or pay twice as much--then I highly recommend this little gem of a locally-owned restaurant in Peoria!

Review Visit: October 28th, 2014…read more If you are a diner aficionado, do not confuse yourself. Yes, there is two diners in Illinois that have nearly the same name. This one is THE 50's Diner located in Peoria, IL and the other is THAT 50's Diner in Dwight, IL. The similarities do not end there. They are both themed from the 1950s. They have a big love of Elvis and other 1950's stuff decorating the diner. That's about where it ends. Matt, Tim, and I rolled up on a sunny autumn afternoon for some nostalgic trip. Not that we were alive in the 50's but it is always fun to visit a place themed after a time period one isn't alive for. I am still waiting for someone to open a Cafe 80's modeled after the one from Back to the Future II. This diner was screaming 50's from the moment we walked in. Black and white color scheme for the seating. 50's decor and memorabilia lining the walls and counters. A menu that screams styling from the time. But none of that matters in the end. It's the food. The menu emhpasizes the Loosey Sammich and that is just what I ordered. While looking over the menu, I did notice they served curly fries, which seems like a rarity outside of Hardee's/Carl Jrs. The diner wasn't busy so our server was timely and our food was delivered after a short while. The food was served in those plastic baskets with wax paper (but sometimes served on plates). To me, I enjoy food being delivered in those things. Why, only foggy childhood memories can explain. The food was dropped in front of us and the Loosey sandwich was... not appealing. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it if you've read enough of these blog posts, you know I save my judgment for how it tastes, not how it looks. Chomp. Chomp. A few bites in and my mouth ran in to dryness without flavor to cover it up. The sandwich was somehow disappointing despite being their signature sandwich. I am going to guess that the meat was sitting in a warmer and dried out. Ah, what a bummer. The fries were good, at least. I've been back a few times with my friend Maria for random breakfasts and lunches and the food from those visits mirrored my first experience here. Bland. Not to say the food is awful or should be avoided, but don't expect anything to make you crave coming back time and time again. But, on the other hand, maybe you'll love the place. Don't let me bland experience deter you from checking it out. Maybe my taste buds are compatible with the 50's. Ah, but this isnt the end of this blog. Nope, one little thing left to talk about. There is a store that takes up the right side of The 50's Diner. Yes, you heard it here. A store. I've browsed the merchandise for sale and I am not sure if this store is a consignment-based or what. The assortment of items is rather eclectic. There's novelty candy, jewelry, random clothes, and other odds and ends. It kind of makes visiting here exciting because you just never know what they will have on sale.

Ryan was my waitress, and she was hands down one of the best servers I've ever had. Her customer service was truly top tier. She came by right away, introduced herself, and brought me both coffee and water. Instead of spending time looking over the menu, I told her exactly what I was in the mood for, and she went above and beyond by creating the perfect combo for me. I ordered eggs, sausage, hash browns, and blueberry pancakes. Ryan told me all about their homemade blueberry syrup, that it was made fresh from scratch daily and wow, she wasn't kidding, it was great! The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. There were fresh blueberries not only in the pancakes but also in the syrup, which made the meal even better. The restaurant itself was also really nice, very open and spacious, with plenty of seating. Even if all the tables were filled, there was still more than enough room to walk around comfortably. I also loved the festive touch of the Christmas tree right inside the restaurant; it made the space feel warm and welcoming. While it was a little on the pricey side for one person, the quality of the food and the overall experience was great.
