The pastry and pistachio latte was excellent. Great atmosphere such a great way to start the day!

CXT Coffee in Peoria is hands-down one of the best coffee shops I've ever visited! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a vibe that's both cool and welcoming--it's the perfect mix of trendy and cozy. The atmosphere invites you to sit down, relax, and stay a while, whether you're catching up with friends, working, or just enjoying some "me" time. I live in Phoenix but visit family a few times a year and I think I go here multiple times while I'm visiting. As for the coffee, their espresso drinks are out of this world! I had a cappuccino, and it was actually really good--smooth, rich, and balanced just right. You can tell the baristas here are truly skilled and passionate about their craft. They don't just make coffee; they make an experience. If you're in Peoria and love great coffee and good vibes, CXT Coffee is a must-visit. I can't wait to go back!

I stopped at several shops this morning to explore the coffee scene in Peoria, and the carrot cake latte from CxT was hands-down my favorite! The flavor was perfectly balanced--not too sweet, just right--and the service was quick even on a busy Saturday. The staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Overall, a great experience. I'll definitely be back... and I love that I don't have to drive all the way downtown for a great espresso drink!

Review Visit: January 15th, 2020 CxT is back with a second location that is bigger, better and in a more awkward location. *pushes up glasses* Technically, this is the 3rd CxT location that has opened up. The original CxT is located on Main Street in Peoria. The 2nd was located where Java Jolt served drinks. Was being the key word. My friend Tim and I tried going there today to find a note on the door saying that location closed on December 23rd. Sadness I asked Tim if he wanted to try the new location off Knoxville and he didn't hesitate to say "yes". Back in the car and on the road before we knew it. Knowing the new place was in an odd location, I was surprised when my GPS took me to what I thought were some abandoned buildings. Pulling in to the area and looking around, I quickly realize that the backside of these buildings are anything but dead. It appears the whole area is being renovated for new businesses and CxT is one of the first to go in. Not expecting much due to the odd location, Tim and I got out of my car and headed in. I was pleasantly surprised to see almost all the seats in the coffeehouse were occupied. That's a good sign that the location isn't that big of a deal. Tim and I looked over the menu and quickly placed our orders. Tim got a turmeric latte while I got a caramel one. With the zany weather we've been having in Illinois, a warm and frothy drink sounded perfect... and boy, was it what I needed. The froth was smooth and creamy while the drink while light on taste was delicious. Tim said his turmeric was not good at firs since he got a mouthful of the spices but it evened out after he drank a bit more. They did appear to have some baked goods for sale, but since Tim and I had plans to get food elsewhere, we didn't partake in the sweets. But I have a feeling I will be back multiple times and I will get to try one then. The staff was very polite and professional while we were there. They did seem a bit bored once it slowed down but that could've been due to having so many workers there. As for the interior and decor, it was cozy yet modern yet simple. There were plenty of chairs and tables spread throughout the place. They even had a small bar in the middle of the shop for 3 people to sit side-by-side. For all the places I have been to, this one definitely ranks high on my list of well-done interiors. If you can get over the slightly odd location and the fact that you really can't see the shop from the road, you won't regret stopping in for a quick drink.

Patio space

Great little modern coffee shop in Peoria with creative drinks - nice outdoor patio, games available, and near some cute little shops.

First time visit on Sunday. LOVE this place. Plenty of parking, super cute interior, lots of places to sit including couches and comfy chairs, and have an outdoor patio too. Had some green tea - it was top notch! I highly recommend.

Iced matcha latte with cinnamon and vanilla and oatmilk

I'm so lucky to come across this location, it's close to home, and they are always time efficient! The atmosphere and ambiance of the place is very welcoming and calming as well. I'n very new to matcha, and was having a very hard time finding a recipe i liked and could stick with;and a barista and CXT showed me the way he liked his matcha which is: Oatmilk , + vanilla, and CINNAMON! And it was a game changer! I loved it. Not to mention, the pricing at CXT cannot be beat!

A good coffee shop and very rustic. The staff are very friendly. They also have nice bakery items. A nice place to hangout.

Chai tea with Karis in the morning 3

I wouldn't consider myself a "regular", but it's nice being recognized by the genuinely happy and caring staff. There's not a bad thing on the menu and the treats they bring in from area bakeries are just as yummy. A++ for atmosphere as well. The natural light is lovely. All the baristas are wonderful, but Karis is fan favorite.

It appears the whole area is being renovated for new businesses and CxT is one of the first to go in.

When we arrived, there was only one other customer in the shop, so it was very quiet and relaxed. The music was playing but it was almost to quiet. We did get there right around 2:30 and they close at 3:00 p.m. so that could be why they weren't busy at all. Only one other customer came in while we drink our coffee. I was hoping to try one of their chocolate croissants, but they were out at the time. I ordered the winter spice latte, and my sister ordered the hot mocha latte. I have to say, my favorite part of the entire visit was the atmosphere. The space is absolutely beautiful -- warm, industrial, and rustic all at the same time. The wood accents paired with the exposed ceilings, soft lighting, and open layout make it feel welcoming while still being really unique. There's so much room, and it feels like a place where you could comfortably sit and hang out for a while with friends. One of the coolest little details was spotting an old dumbwaiter -- you really don't see those very often anymore, and it added even more character to the space. I also loved learning that they have a bar-style setup on the other side of the restaurant a few nights a week, which is a fun and unexpected touch. Another special feature is that their coffee comes straight from Colombia, and you could truly taste the quality. They've been in this location here for about 2 years and since the building is bigger I hope that they are getting a lot more customers but I'm not sure. Overall, it's a really neat spot with a great vibe, and it's worth checking out.

Cafe Santa Rosa, round two!…read more Moving from their Junction City location to a former performing arts center, Cafe Santa Rosa is bigger, spacier, and still strong on the flavor. Maria and I dropped in on a quiet Monday to a crowded coffeehouse. This was both our first time visiting this building, even when it was a performing arts center. It was busy with a bunch of business people setting up a meeting upstairs and others taking up tables with laptops and bags. We ordered our drinks and snagged a seat by the stage area. The menu here seems to be about the same as their prior location in the Junction City. I snagged a large cold brew and some pumpkin spice cake balls. Maria didn't want a snack so I got to enjoy the tasty cake treats to myself and what a treat they were. I was sad that it was only two as for the price, 4 would've been perfect, imo. My coffee (and Maria's) was super strong. This lines up with my prior experiences with Cafe Santa Rosa. Maria actually had to grab some more ice to help water her drink down so she could enjoy it. The strong bitter doesn't bother me but do note it should you check this place out. It's nice to see a coffeehouse expand and grow instead of shutting down. This building is large and offers plenty of space for activities. I am guessing they will have shows and events once they are up and running for awhile. The upstairs area seems great for private events and there is even a bar area. I'll have to keep an eye out on events they may hold here. If you are familiar with Cafe Santa Rosa, this is more of the same but spacier. If you are new to their blend of coffee, be prepared for the extra hit their coffee provides.
