My first time here. The menu was comprehensive and featured so many visually tempting options that I finally just asked our waitress Quincy to suggest something. She recommended the Cuban Pulled Pork Sandwich. My sandwich was huge and contained a large portion of pulled pork meat. It was delicious and the homemade chipotle bbq mayo made it all the more satisfying with its rich smoky flavor! The Cuban-style black beans were right out of Miami! Very nicely prepared and included green peas, carrots, corn, and bell peppers, as well. My dining companion, for her part, ordered the Falafel platter, with a side order of gyro meat. The falafel (a dozen), were fresh, tasty, and just the right consistency. These were served with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pita, and hummus. The side order of gyro meat featured a generous portion of decadently succulent lamb shavings and included two portions of homemade tzatziki sauce. Everything we ate was prepared to perfection and could easily compete with exceptional restaurants in Chicago! Yes, the food at One World is that good. As for the service, our waitress Quincy was friendly and professional. As for the ambiance and decor--we arrived ahead of the lunch crowd, so it was pretty quiet. The decor, however, is nicely done. The premises were clean and well maintained. Ditto the restrooms. The restaurant is actually huge. There are multiple dining areas and in the summer there is an outside patio behind the restaurant, as well. As for pricing and affordability--quality costs, and the food here is definitely a cut above. That being said, the owners have priced the entrees quite reasonably considering the generous portion-size and quality of the food. My overall opinion? If you want a dining experience worthy of comparison to the best Chicagoland has to offer, but don't want to make the long drive--or pay twice as much--then I highly recommend this little gem of a locally-owned restaurant in Peoria! read more

Very good spot in Peoria!!! The menu here is expansive and there is something for everyone. They also have a huge selection of lattes and drinks. I got the thai chicken pizza and it was SO good. The hot honey was a little sweeter than I expected, however the jalepeno balanced it well. The hummus also was hands down one of the best I have ever had. Still thinking about it. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was the service. Everything was fine until it came to pay. I don't know if our server disappeared or something but we waited 30-45 minutes to get our check which was semi-frustrating. Anyways, 10/10 food. Very unique. Very different. Whenever I visit Peoria I stop by One World for breakfast and meet up with my former Mother-In-Law. It's our favorite place to meet. We always order the same thing. It used to be called Eggs One World many years ago. Now it's called Baked Egg Dish. We omit the potatoes. I get the regular bagel and she gets the whole wheat bagel. We both got veggie cream cheese. I believe they make their cream cheese. This is a delicious and filling dish. The drip coffee was ok. I wish they still offered the carafe of coffee. Service was very good. This place is super cute!! The vibe was a hit! The server was absolutely a gem! I had the blackened cajun fish sandwich and fries! Their ranch was yummy! The fries were perfect, and the sandwich with the Cajun aioli was perfect. The bun was soft and was the perfect amount of bread to sandwich!! The cabbage slaw was good even as it fell out of the sandwich and was eaten solo! I had the flavor of the day coffee and it was definitely yummy! Not burnt, not bitter, it was brewed well! What happened to One World? We have been coming here for over 15 years and have always enjoyed it! The last few times have been a disappointment in service and food. We all have our favorites we always order and today the food took forever to be ready only to come wrong. They made it right by making a new one that also took too long to be ready, and I had to leave hungry as we couldn't wait any longer. The place was really busy, they used to manage it just fine. We saw a few tables returning meals that came out wrong too, and our fries, which used to be our favorite part, was completely different, made with old oil, dark and bitter and stale. I am sad to say we won't be coming back. The 2 stars were for the hummus that was good and for taking my meal out of the bill. Hope OW will come back to what it used to be someday. read more

I had the chicken Cajun wrap and upgraded my side to Mac n cheese. Everything was really good! What I don't like that consistently happens here is they do an up charge for any thing they can think of. For the wrap, it was $2.50 extra for breaded chicken versus grilled. No extra meat though. Why are you charging me extra for breading? I said something because I wasn't expecting a charge and they just double downed on it. Why not create a better customer experience and waive the charge since I was not warned and it absolutely makes no sense. The mac and cheese is $2.50 extra and I don't get how this is more costly than their other sides. It was also a small portion. Review Visit: January 26th, 2012 One World is out of this world. Think of your local town or area. Now think of a place where young hip people go. Now think of menu items that are unique and around $10. Are you imagining a place or something similar? If so, that is what One World is like. That's not a bad thing by any means. That's just how One World feels when you visit. Matt, his friend, Tim, Kim and myself descended upon One World for dinner on this mid-winter evening. The parking for One World and the surrounding area is rather limited. There was parking along the street but I think that is gone now. So, your best bet is to park across the street at CampusTown and play Frogger as you try to cross the worst intersection in Peoria. I had heard that One World has a hipster/snobbish vibe to it and upon entering, I definitely felt it. It's not an unwelcome feeling by any means but one that is impossible to not feel. We were seated at a table and I was instantly distracted by the decor of the place. Our table was against the wall and that was covered in a painting from top to bottom, side to side. This easily distracted me throughout the meal as I tried to take it all in and see all the details. A futile attempt but attempted nonetheless. Since I've been here quite a few times, I will be talking in general for the next little bit. The menu here is unique as One World itself. It seems that every time I've come here, the menu has changed or adjusted in some way. They even have a menu for vegans or gluten-sensitive people. Now, as for the offerings on the menu, they do have some standard items you can find at most restaurants but they also have a lot of unique or specialty things that seem unique to One World. Instead of writing paragraphs about their food offerings, check their website below to view their menus. Each time I've come here, the hipster ambience has been a part of the experience. I'm not sure if that was their goal when opening the place but it has definitely stuck. What also hasn't changed is the deliciousness of their food. That keeps my once-a-year visit exciting as I know the consistence will be the same each time. One World, while a bit pricey and having a unique atmosphere, is well worth playing Frogger for. I want to try new restaurants for brunch when I'm in the area so started with this place and it did not disappoint. The chicken and waffles were really good. The chicken was cooked extra crispy just like I like it without me requesting it! And the gravy was nice and flavorful! The service was great! Was there on a Sunday around 9:30am and it wasn't busy at all. The noise level was moderate. There is parking on the street and a parking lot in the back. After looking up any vegan friendly places, we came here at breakfast. It was already busy. There were lots of Bradley students and whoever. It's a popular place especially for the hip crowd. They not only have vegan friendly breakfast but have lots of things at lunch too. I had the Baked Egg Dish. This has the vegan substitutes of vegan cheese and tofu scramble. It's about $9 for a lot. LAST MINUTE MENU CHANGE - MISSING ITEMS ORDERED Service was very disappointing today. Perhaps they were too busy. Myself and four others in my office ordered lunch today for boss's day. The place was specifically chosen not only for its good food, but that touted having a gluten free menu. As two were leaving the office to pick up the food we received a call that One World could no longer guarantee safety for gluten free food. We had eaten there many times in the past going back nearly five years because of it's gluten free menu. Had we known sooner they could not accommodate the dietary need, we would have patroned another business. We were able to order a separate meal from a business near One World, but our food was cold by the time it got back. On top of that disappointed, they did not include any of the four desserts that were ordered. To their credit, they did say they were going to deliver the desserts - but definitely not immediately. I have always enjoyed One World in the past when we dined in, but was very disappointed in the service for pick-up this time, and the lack of a Gluten Free menu (unbeknownst to us). read more

So, I decided to visit one of my favorite cafes, which happens to be next door to a legit private university. Upon entering, I strolled past the front dining area to grab a seat near the bar, and I immediately started to soak in the cool vibes of the "green dragon lounge". I felt like something light for lunch, so as my eyes scanned the remarkable menu, they soon drifted to The Herbivorian Wrap. The ingredients seemed interesting, so I ordered it. Minutes later, it arrived with a smile. Without hesitation, I picked up this vegetarian handheld and proceeded to learn more about it: visually appealing, fresh, tightly wrapped and layered ingredients, a spicy sauce...delicious. My wife and I dined in for lunch on a Monday afternoon! We ordered a single order of hummus with veggies and pita bread to start our lunch! The hummus has good flavor and a nice smooth texture! We got the veggies without tomatoes. The pita bread is a standard good tasting pita bread. We also ordered a burger medium well to split between us with cheddar, grilled and raw onions, pickles and lettuce. The burger came with 1 side and we chose fries. The char grilled burger was really good and cooked perfectly. The fries are a standard frozen fry but are seasoned well with salt. Our service was great! This was a good lunch! read more

Just had my first trip here and it was great. I ordered the Turkey Club on the focaccia and it was amazing. My dad had been here before with my sister and remembered the biscuits and gravy were pretty good, so he got them again. His girlfriend ordered the breakfast pizza and didn't realize how big it would be. She's going to be eating on that for days. Our waitress was very attentive and checked back on us often even though it was busy. The portions are pretty big here, so come with an appetite or plan on leftovers. The food is good, it depends on what you order because something about the eggs...well other than the eggs which might just not be my personal taste is wonderful. This is a top collage hangout spot for a reason, the art and decor is excellent and comfortable, not trying too hard but still ornamental and beautiful. The bar makes a wonderful long island, and to third shifters looking for a drink after a long night after work? This place is one of the few that serve in the morning. They have a back patio that is very spacious, but I hope they consider sprucing it up next year, I have a ton of ideas on how to make it even better. Not that it's remotely bad now, not at all. I just think it should match the level of care they took to decorate the rest of the restaurant. Their menu is very unique but not in a bad way at all. I love their pizzas and its cheaper or same price for a pizza from common chains and 10X better. If you live nearby try ordering from here instead of some domino hut. Oh! Lastly the shirts are actually really cool! I've been eyeing a couple but can't afford it right now, but soon hopefully I can get my favorite before it's gone. So not the usual logo shirts, these are actually something made from high quality material that have designs you might buy from a store because you think it's cute. This place used to be a really great place to go for people with alternative diets. As a person with celiac disease, I enjoy the fact that they have a separate menu. However, the last couple times I've been here the selection hasn't been as great. The food has been, OK. I typically have very good service here. Stopped on here with a group. All of us ordered something different. The sampler appetizer was very good the dips were fresh and tasty. The breads and pita were good as well that were served with it. The husband has a burger and said it was really good. One of the couples ordered breakfast and said it was all very good. I had the southwest salad and unfortunately it wasn't fit to eat. There was about an inch of liquid the the bottom of the bowl that all my lettuce was swimming and was very limp. I love One World! It's definitely the place I'll take any visitors too because it's affordable, has a great atmosphere, and the food never fails! I love getting brunch and dinner here.
