A very nice place for lunch. Great food, great customer service, and prices were very reasonable. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because of the bar. Being a bourbon guy, I was glad to see they touted their whiskey/bourbon selection quite highly, and they do have a huge selection from what I saw, however, if a restaurant/bar wants to be considered the place to be for bourbon, it needs to have a great Old Fashioned. The Old Fashioned I received was not good and was nothing like what was listed on the menu - "OLD OVERHOLT RYE MUDDLED WITH AN ORANGE SLICE, SIMPLE SYRUP BLACK WALNUT BITTERS & A CINNAMON STICK STIRRER". I can only describe mine as a water downed whiskey drink. Nothing muddles, no taste of bitters, and no cinnamon stick (see picture). In my opinion, a proper should also be served with a large ice cube not a scope of small ice cubes. Overall, I did enjoy the lunch and want to go back for supper sometime. I hope when that happens they learn to make a proper Old Fashioned.

4.5 stars MAKE A RESERVATION! MAKE A RESERVATION! MAKE A RESERVATION! We attempted eating at Hearth in summer 2019 when I had out of town friends visiting. We were seated by the hostess outside, but 5 mins later, they asked us to leave since we didn't have a reservation. So, lesson learned: I made a reservation for dinner since they're only open from 5-10pm on Saturdays. I mentioned it would be our first time there and it was our anniversary. SO did not want to give them business after getting kicked out; however, I wanted to give them a second chance based on so many good Yelp reviews, and the hostess made an honest mistake (they said she misheard me). We arrived for our 7pm reservation and were seated shortly. Our server, Becky, was good and not overbearing. She brought warm cheddar & green onion biscuits with sweet butter--YUM! They provided complimentary cocktails because of the special occasion, which was not expected, but a nice gesture. I had the pork chop, and SO had the meatloaf (beef, lamb, bacon). The pork chop was a little fatty for my liking but had good flavor and was cooked well. Their house potato bake with cream and cheese was amazing, I could eat a whole pan of that. SO's meatloaf was good, but tasted gamey to me, but I rarely eat lamb. It was loud for us in the main dining room but to be expected for a busy Saturday night, and we were between two tables of 4 who were having a good time. Our entrees were $55. We didn't have any drinks other than the complimentary cocktails.

Can't speak to the food, but the cocktails are AWESOME! First, I had to try the Chocomole, which was perfect. Not too sweet, with just a little spice to it. Then I had the Harvest Mule and it was really good too! A great combination of flavors. A bit pricey, but service was excellent. Definitely worth another visit if we're in the area again.

I lived in Chicago for eight years, and this is easily one of the top five steaks I've had, consistently. The Comfort family has been doing this for over 50 years, and every single visit reminds me why longevity like that is earned, not given. Let me start with the food, because it deserves its own paragraph. The dry-aged steaks, cut in-house, are simply the best in the area -- and I say that as someone who has tried them all. Whether it's a perfectly prepared filet, a juicy lamb chop, or one of their famous 10 oz. steak burgers (the Bleu Burger is my personal obsession), every dish comes out exactly right. The seafood ravioli appetizer is a must-order, the beer cheese soup is legendary, and the Caesar salad never misses. If you come on a Sunday, do not leave without trying the fried chicken -- it is the best Sunday dinner in the Peoria area, full stop. The service here is consistently warm and attentive. The staff clearly takes pride in what they do, and it shows in the timing, the recommendations, and the little touches that make a dinner feel like an event. I've brought family, friends, dates, and colleagues here, and every single group has walked out raving. And the atmosphere! You can choose between the elegant indoor dining room or the lovely outdoor patio -- both are wonderful. On a warm evening, there's nothing better than sitting outside on Prospect Road with a glass from their extensive wine list, taking your time with a perfectly cooked steak. Jim's Bistro isn't just a restaurant to me -- it's a tradition. It's where I go to celebrate, to unwind, and to remember that truly great food never goes out of style. If you haven't been, you are missing out on something special. If you have been, you already know exactly what I'm talking about. See you at the next table.

We ended up staying there talking for a couple of hours to catch up, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. While there are lots of great options on the menu, both of us chose the BPT - Breaded Pork Tenderloin. I've eaten a lot of breaded pork tenderloins in my time, but none like this one. The usual approach is super thin and huge, making the bun look tiny. While this one wasn't much larger than the bun, it was at least an inch thick, so it was more like eating a fried pork chop sandwich, but with the meat tenderized. The meat was well-seasoned and very flavorful, and the crust was extra-crispy and crunchy. The Honey-Lime sauce (one of three sauces brought to each table along with Ranch and Tyler's Sauce) is delicious and worked great with the pork. Fries were good, as was the cole slaw (which had a nice kick from some very freshly-ground black pepper). And I'm always happy when a place has Guinness on tap.

From the get go the atmosphere was great, there was a short queue (but it was a Friday night, so it's to be expected), but we were quickly shown to our table. Our server was Connor, who was great from the start and was very flexible with our large group who had a few dietary preferences/requirements. One of our favorite things about the menu is the focus on utilizing local businesses and serving their products. As most locals know Bill's Lemon Shake Ups are a staple in the region so when I saw that on the menu I had to go for that, and with multiple flavor choices I was excited to try. I ended up settling for the tenderloin sandwich, but I was certainly interested to try a lot of the menu. The amount of pork was HUGE and it was flavorful and paired with the honey lime sauce it was a 10/10! The bun alone was phenomenal, and I couldn't recommend this meal enough if you are a schnitzel or tenderloin fan! That sauce is definitely a star of the show, paired with the sweet heat seasoning available at the table next to the S&P the meal was the perfect combination of sweet, spice and tasty! Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well and there was little left by the end. The nachos were customized to account for a dietary preference so this is not the standard, however they were delicious and a huge portion. The pizza was thin crust and was excellent too, so no notes across the board. Thanks once again to Connor for accommodating us and being so patient with our party. You can also purchase any of the three major sauces that they have in house, so I proceeded to buy the honey lime which we'll be enjoying for the next few weeks, if it makes it that long!

And we highly recommend a visit, especially if you are familiar with the brand! Like the BloNo location there are at least two entrances - the one further west is for a good sized hosting/ordering/waiting area while the one closest to the ballpark has more direct access to the bar area, but is way more space-restricted and will likely be a traffic jam on game days. If you're looking for a table, both entrances open to the rest of the cool 'industrial chic' dining areas in the form of a large street-level open concept dining area and a good sized split-level (up 3-4 steps) back room - which despite having wide entrances that make it feel part of the larger space, likely can easily be cordoned-off for private functions. One visit in and the lady and I (plus our friend and former Ptown bartender) can say that the food was every bit the same top-quality, large portion, methodically cooked and creatively accented sandwiches and wraps, served in old school pie pans with red-white check paper liners, that we are used to. The weekend special shaved ribeye Cali burrito was particularly epic, cementing what seems to be the first of the 3 or 4 things that keep the crowds coming back. The second thing is the creativity and discernment applied to bar side - in the form of the beer menu, which is initially focused on bottles/cans since they just received the liquor license the day before our arrival. Despite this there was a good mix of 'domestics' and at least 20 quality craft options from 6 or 8 fantastic breweries representing a good variety of styles but leaning like those at the original location - that is, a few more IPAs and 'sweet sours'. They also maintain a thoughtful and inventive cocktail list and will NO DOUBT start building up the whiskey/bourbon collection in the coming weeks. Although having high quality and fairly compensated employees helps immensely, the last thing that really drives their business is something we often say three times - location... In this case, it's literally less than a block from home plate. Easy to find. Easy to love. We'll certainly be back!
