This is a staple must go when we are in Peoria. Our friends started going every time they were there and invited us since it's the first time traveling with them. The restaurant was able to accommodate our party of 20 as we sat outside with live music going on. We were the last to get there as we came from an event at the convention center. I noticed they had gotten the same waitress as they had the last time. She was awesome and was on top of everyone's orders and refills. I ordered the shepherds pie and it's the best one I've ever had. The flavors were very comforting and had depth to it. I also love the amount they serve. It was a lot for me but the value was great. The food was mid. I had fish and chips and it was pretty bland. The menu selection wasn't the best.

Stopped in 25 minutes to close out of necessity. They told us any fried foods were still being served. It was a quiet Thursday night. We just wanted something light as we traveled all day. We got the chips and dips and some beers. This Irish pub tries hard unlike many that just have an Irish name on the door. Very good beer selection and Kilkenny on nitro! Our bartender was Karen and she was great. The salsa was great. It's not house made so we are on the lookout for it. Chips got a mixed review. She liked them, I did not. Gauc and cheese were fine. This is simply the best bar and restaurant in Peoria, Illinois. First of all the service is outstanding. This afternoon I sat at the bar for lunch. Chloe provided excellent service despite being busy tending bar and handling several tables. I had the Guinness Pot Roast served with champs potatoes and a think flavorful gravy. Review Visit: December 26th, 2016 My first visit ensures that this won't be my last time here. My friends and I came here for a night of birthday drinks and fun. One of my friends and I got there early, so we ordered beers early and she ordered the food special. It was two pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, cole slaw and bread for under $6. I ended up getting a Shiner Holiday Cheer beer with a glass to keep. Birthday girl finally shows up and we just continue to keep on drinking and have a good time. The waitress brought us out some of their delicious bread, which was immediately devoured. Having only had beers, bread and a good time, I don't have much to say besides it was a great night. Our waitress was busy, but was sure to swing by at just the right time to entertain us by stealing my phone while I was in the bathroom and taking selfies with my friends or topping off our glasses. This was my first time visiting and the atmosphere was very nice and the food was great. One of the best burgers I've ever had. I must also brag on the exceptional service that was provided by our waitress, Ally. There was a huge crowd that night and she went above and beyond to ensure our food and drinks were accurate. Kelleher's is a cute Irish pub in downtown Peoria. The outdoor seating under the lights is a good spot for drinks and the inside is very much an Irish pub. The food was hit and miss for me just because Irish fare isn't my favorite. The Toastie sandwich was amazing, the garlic aioli sauce on it was outstanding. However the pot pie wasn't my thing. The service on this particular visit wasn't the best. My group waited a long time for refills and even getting the check at the end was a hassle. However, the staff and bartenders were very friendly. Thought I would visit an old Hometown hang out.. Wanted to sit outside because it's beautiful, but the outside area is desolate. Not any plantings or flowers or anything. Menu is limited, typical bar food. Burgers and such. I was looking for some thing on the vegetarian side at least. No veggie burgers, no bean burgers, no impossible burgers. Only a couple of salads. Just finished our meal and I am not impressed. My 5 year old had more on her plate as a Children's meal than I did as an adult. The waitress was extremely slow and inattentive. The vibe inside is a little busy decor-wise but still enjoyable; it feels more run-down and cobbled together than other places but in an enjoyable and pleasant way. Casual for sure. The beer selection is WILDLY better than I expected. Ended up with a pint of Bearded Owl's take on Guinness that was pretty good. The food left something to be desired though. The loaded potato skins were some of the better ones I've had, but the fish and chips were lacking. The chips weren't crispy enough on the outside and didn't melt in my mouth on the inside, and the fish batter was not crisp enough and didn't stay around the fish well. My wife got the spinach and artichoke chicken, and it wasn't as life-changing as she anticipated. To me, it seemed too smothered in the dip to be enjoyable. The food here is scrummy! We had the Irish coddle which is potato's soup with cheese and bacon! It was a great start in the dreary and windy afternoon. We had the spinach artichoke dip next which was more like the consistency of a crab Rangoon filling and I won't complain it was delicious the chips had Old Bay seasoning. I had to have the fish and chips and I was told their fish delivery had just arrived and the fish had the perfect amount of coating it was crispy and golden it was perfection! The chips were thick and crispy but the inside was so fluffy! The shepherds pie was ground beef instead of lamb and had a rich flavor. It had a good flavor but I wish it had rim to rim mash instead of the pancake like mash, personal preference. The pub and ambiance feels as if you are transported to Ireland and our culinary host was Chris he was so friendly answered all of our questions. I'll be sure to visit again soon! read more

But instead of the described house made batter dipped filets I got something that was no better than out of a box from the freezer section of the grocery store. They were dry and meager. Stopped in for a pint of Guinness and a bite to eat, where else would you go for a good pint you may ask. The place is lovely inside with an old bar counter just like you might see in Ireland. There were plenty of bar tenders and management behind the counter who were too busy to bother with a couple of pint seeking patrons, thinking about it, that's not true, one said "hi" as he passed to further discuss the "important business". Sure by this time the thirst is really on us and the Guinness tap is more like a mirage in the desert, shimmering and tempting but just out of reach. Very disappointed in the Guiness Pot Roast! First, it was prepared like beef stew in that the beef was small cubes instead of slices off a roast. Second and more important, the amount of beef was lacking - only 5 or 6, 3/4-inch cubes of beef. And this was true of all 3 of servings that we ordered for take out. We would have complained at the time if we were dining-in. Also, I wanted to send an email to management, but couldn't find an address on their website. Guess they don't want feedback. read more

Been here a few times with my girlfriend. It's always been a pleasurable experience. They have a robust menu selection with a lot of Irish-based choice as you would expect. Everything I've had has been really good, but never exceptional. Except any potato dish, those are amazing. A good beer selection with reasonable prices, and it's never been TOO busy. We had a large group of 10 who dined on 1/24/12 for dinner.The table ordered appetizers which came out pretty fast and included the crab crunchers (breading with no crab), wings and Irish chips. The beer selection is very good to probably the best in Peoria. That was the best part of the main course. I had the Bass Ale fish and chips and it was like frozen fish sticks. The chips were cold and nothing had much flavor. A couple people had the Jacket Potatoes which they said were cold and had only a small amount of toppings. The people next to me had the Salmon which was over-cooked and dry and served with a burned baked potato and mushy vegetables. Two of the other diners had the Kelleher's Sampler Platter with different selections. The menu items (especially the Irish Stew) for the platter are served in little cups and looked like cat food with gravy (YUCK) and the soda bread on the plate was hard as a rock too.
