Came into this 50's- style flashback for brunch recently. The place was fairly busy, but they seemed to have a good turnover. The interior has some funny signs and posters a d then some classic staples, jukebox, Elvis cutout ect. The food was okay. Not a lot of flavor, but the portions were pretty good. The service however, was almost nonexistent. Our waitress took our order and brought our food, but never checked and it took awhile to get our menus and our bill. Wont be in a hurry to get back, but would try for lunch sometime.

My boyfriend and I enjoy some roadside kitsch, so when a magic shop we wanted to visit in Champaign was closed, this place was a welcome substitute. While it's not terribly impressive on the outside (it's in a strip mall), the 50's diner is a full-in blast from the past. Even better, it has a gift shop with all of the cheesy handmades (Signs with quotes! Crocheted tablecloths!) you could want. It has an old-fashioned soda fountain/diner counter and a jukebox, interesting cut outs on the walls, and a Batman on the ceiling (Why?) Service was great! There was a sign that said they were understaffed, but it didn't feel like it. To drink, I ordered a Red River (cherry soda). Green River was out, which made me a little sad. My boyfriend ordered the Reuben and I ordered the patty melt, and they were everything they should be: buttered bread, AMERICAN cheese (this place ain't fancy), burger patty that would be overdone by itself (me) but was perfect on the sandwich, buttery grilled onions (me), tangy and creamy homemade 1000 island dressing (my boyfriend). We both got the onion tanglers, which are like thick-cut onion rings, but are coarsely-chopped instead of rings. Salty crispy heaven served with a side of ranch in true Midwestern fashion. With tip, our bill was about $25. No doubt this will be a regular stop on our trips west!

I have been wanting to come here for a while. We started off with the homemade chicken noodle soup, which was very good. I had the Lucy Sandwich and fries and my guest had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy with corn. I will definitely be back.

This was a pretty neat place. If you are looking for somewhere to take a trip down memory lane, this is it! With the 50's style decor and an attached gift shop full of 50's era mementos, it's sure to give the family something to talk about over supper! The food was average and the service was average. If you are looking for a place where you can get in and out, this is not it. The music however was GREAT, and the ambiance was what you would expect for a blast through the past!

    Very neat interior!

A very neat vibe going on here at the 50's diner! Complete with 50's decor and oldies music, you'll find you've been swept away to another era! There's even a little gift shop attached to the waiting area. The portion sizes are huge. So come hungry! The prices are crazy reasonable. We all ate to our hearts content and for 5 people our bill only came to $42. Whoa. I personally had the BYO quesadilla. It was huge. They have plenty of toppings to chose from and he eggs inside were cooked perfectly! Came with salsa and sour cream on the side. My husband got the hearty breakfast which was just about everything you could dream of wanting in a breakfast meal. The man can eat and even he had a hard time finishing the generous portion! The servers were very sweet and the food came out in a timely manner.

Bucky even brought out two glasses of Sauternes to help celebrate the occasion and made my GF's heart melt. every staff that touched the table was so nice and personable. thanks again for the amazing night!! couldn't of been better!!!

The bacon was super nice, the mustard on the burger was ridiculously yummy. Did I mention those confit potatoes? Haha yeah I did, they were, off the chain, a dill garnish and some orange aioli that set it off!! The inside although we didn't spend much time inside was super cute, and has that riverfront done well vibe! A place you want to be in! This would have been 5 stars BUT The 18$ Bloody Mary! This was a TRAVESTY! It reads so well on paper....... Then you get it, it was the most flaccid Bloody Mary I have EVER had! It was basically a tomato juice and possibly maybe somewhere in there was any hint of some vodka, not the vodka that it advertised. The weak ass 4 little tiny pieces of prosciutto and cheese was a sad excuse for the oversold garnish. If the food wasn't as good as it was, this place would have gotten a 3 stars for overall. Note to the owner: Please revamp this ASAP! There's a huge culture behind a solid Bloody Mary and it's not hard to perfect one. It needs spice and life and it was just sad. Ok back to the review... GO HERE! If like me, you are looking for good food.... This is the spot! About me: I am a fresh transplant from Arizona, particularly the southwest, we're there's a Bloody Mary or Chelada, or a huge selection of hot sauce in almost every place you can eat. I love supporting local! I love business done right. If you read this far, aside from the bloody this place is on my peoria MUST EAT list!

Kiddie corner from Bradley's campus, this is a great place for families making a college visit to stop. I've been many, many times and on this latest Peoria trip stopped for both a breakfast and a dinner. We had great, quick service both times and delicious meals. I HIGHLY recommend the appetizer sampler platter, it is my favorite thing on the menu! A trio of great apps including a creamy spinach artichoke dip with warm bread, perfect pico de gallo with tortilla chips and fresh hummus with warm pita triangles. Perfect for sharing or just having as a meal honestly! We also love the Mac n cheese and burgers! For breakfast, I recommend the Belgium waffle- it is so good!! Ryan was my waitress, and she was hands down one of the best servers I've ever had. Her customer service was truly top tier. She came by right away, introduced herself, and brought me both coffee and water. Instead of spending time looking over the menu, I told her exactly what I was in the mood for, and she went above and beyond by creating the perfect combo for me. I ordered eggs, sausage, hash browns, and blueberry pancakes. Ryan told me all about their homemade blueberry syrup, that it was made fresh from scratch daily and wow, she wasn't kidding, it was great! The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. There were fresh blueberries not only in the pancakes but also in the syrup, which made the meal even better. The restaurant itself was also really nice, very open and spacious, with plenty of seating. Even if all the tables were filled, there was still more than enough room to walk around comfortably. I also loved the festive touch of the Christmas tree right inside the restaurant; it made the space feel warm and welcoming. While it was a little on the pricey side for one person, the quality of the food and the overall experience was great. What impressed me the most, though, was how kind, genuine, and attentive Ryan was throughout my visit. She truly made the experience memorable and as far as I'm concerned she's the best waitress you have! I was happy to let her know that she was going above and beyond, y'all better hold on to her! There's even an option to pay at the table if you're in a hurry which is a cool feature! I will definitely be back!
