We just had a great experience at Egg Republic in Peoria. We are in town with a group of college friends and sons and we wanted a filling breakfast before golfing. We definitely found the place. Greeted by the GM, Annette, who was so nice and friendly. We were quickly seated by her and she went over the menu with us. The food is DELICIOUS!!! And the pricing very reasonable. A great place for brunch, Egg Republic has an extensive menu with some updated touches in a modern space. The place is large and can get crowded, but they can handle the crowds well. I really enjoyed my salmon benedict which had a decent amount of smoked salmon and a tasty hollandaise sauce. The corned beef hash was deconstructed to an extreme but very good too. My nephew wasn't in the mood for brunch and ordered a burger which was solid. The chicken and waffle also looked very good, with a number smaller waffles rather than a single large one. We searched for somewhere together breakfast before we headed home and found Egg Republic and WOW! We started with the Chicken Fried Bacon, this is a must try. I think I could have just added eggs to this and made it a meal, so good! For my drink I had the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte, I found my new drink, so good. We had the Southern Comfort skillet with pancakes on the side and Biscuits and Gravy with eggs and ham, man I would love to have some more of that bacon! All the servers were attentive and friendly on a busy Sunday morning. The ambiance was a little loud , it was packed, but I was able to hold a conversation with no problem. Been wanting to try this place and finally today for lunch stopped in. The restaurant wasn't too busy at all for a Tuesday early afternoon. I thought overall the menu looked pretty good and the restaurant was very clean and nice inside. I ordered the original Jack's salad which to be honest was very very good minus the fact that it came with two little of dressing and unfortunately, my waiter disappeared for the entire meal so I couldn't get more dressing given to me. Disappointed for sure. That would be my biggest issue today. I also feel over lunch periods places should know that most people try to come and go for lunch quickly, but I couldn't do that today due to the waiter disappearing. So, I did finish my salad though the second half of it wasn't as tasty as the first half due to not enough dressing again. I guess I'll give this place a try again at some point but as a first experience, I have to give it a half par rating. read more

We are obsessed with this fairly new dining spot near Shoppes of Grand Prairie. We have eaten here numerous times, everything is so delicious and beautifully presented that we try to order something new every time. We haven't been disappointed yet. My husband and I were in town recently for a family gathering. We always like looking for new places and saw the signs while we were driving near our hotel. I looked them up restaurant up and said "We're going". It did not disappoint. We drive through the Candlewood Suites parking lot to get in even though you're close to the road. Inside, it's very modern decor and very bright with wood accents. We enjoyed the friendly staff and expansive menu. If you like mimosas, there are plenty. We got coffee & were not disappointed. They have lots of specials and regular items. I enjoyed my "pacos" (pancake tacos) with a hot honey drizzle. Packed with scrambled eggs and chorizo, they hit the spot. It's a great place for brunch. Food was great, however, the service was terrible. I placed an order online through a third-party site. I called personally to inform the restaurant that I was on my way to pick up my order. When I arrived, several staff members passed me without asking if I needed anything. One waitress in particular circled back once she saw that a male had entered the establishment. Then she proceeded to ask if he needed anything. As she was walking away, she then turned to ask if I needed anything. When my order finally came out, I was handed the wrong order. Then asked if I needed to take a picture of the order, as I was mistaken for a DoorDasher. The gentleman beside me (who was an actual DoorDasher)was not asked to take a picture of the order. I did not receive an apology for a mistaken identity, instead was met with off putting looks as I opened the stapled bag to check my order. Obviously still being mistaken for a door-dasher. I did two transactions one on a gift card and the one on my regular debit card. And they said they should able to get out to me. I received a text message since they asked her for my name and phone number and I got the text message saying at 7:29 AM. Your food is ready. I waited at 7:45 AM for them to bring it to me. Other people showed up some of them were DoorDash. Some of them were Uber eats or whatever they are and some of them were people waited to be dined in. They got to them first instead of me and I was there first. I waited approximately too long to get my food. It was two pancakes, scrambled eggs, and hashbrowns. This was our first time at Egg Republic in Peoria, Il, and we will definitely soon return. The servers are phenomenal especially Ryan Foulk!! The menu was extensive with many offerings. The creme french toast was massive, the strawberries were delish, and a wonderful choice. My fellow table mates enjoyed the Egg Republic combo and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. This was my first and last time dining here as this was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We had a reservation for a large party at 1pm and we were sat at 1:45. We had one person waiting on all of us at first and when he brought our drinks, he spilled them on my aunt who then had to deal with this terrible lunch in a wet dress. We then had two people waiting on us and they brought out two free appetizers which we tried to share with all 14 of us but, y'know. The appetizer plates they gave us were dirty with crumbs and melted cheese stuck to them so I used a napkin to try the free chicken fried bacon (it was okay). We then, finally, got our food and remaining drinks and I got the pecan French toast. I had to borrow someone else's syrup because of course I was not given any. At this point I fully understood that decent service was not something I should expect here. Near the end of our meal one of our party had to get one of the waiters who then grabbed the other waiter to let them know they didn't include beans and rice in her dish. The second waiter explained that it usually comes on the side and asked if she wanted the rice and beans. Yes, I think she would very much like the rest of the food she ordered to be brought out. The food was not good enough for all of this chaos, in fact, one of us sent food back and ordered something to go. I really couldn't believe how bad this experience was.
