Absolutely the best Turkish food I have ever had that wasn't homemade. I have celiac disease. The food here is completely safe because they make the flat bread in a pizza oven outside the kitchen. I recommend the chicken kabob platter. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but I was disappointed. To start with, the garlic pita bread was yummy, but I felt like it needed some sort of dip. For the entree, we got the chicken shawarma & vegetarian pizza. After seeing the food, I immediately regretted not getting the chicken pizza. The vegetarian pizza was overwhelming. The toppings were falling off because it was jam packed with spinach, tomatoes, green peppers, olives, etc. It had too much going on & it was also on pita like the garlic bread so it became too much pita in one meal. The chicken shawarma was okay, but it didn't blow me away. The drink I ordered sounded better than it was. I think it was called Bombay Passion. The service & price was great, but the food wasn't memorable. read more

Terrific food with timely delivery. The sandwiches are a full meal in themselves. A real asset to the neighborhood.

I gave this place 3 stars mostly because of their service, not the food. However, the food wasn't exactly the best Mediterranean food I've ever had either. When my boyfriend and I walked in at around 7 pm on a Friday, the small seating area seemed mostly full with only 2 tables of 2 empty, so we took this as a good sign. (Boy were we wrong.) We weren't greeted for over 5 minutes after walking in and standing at the door awkwardly. I understand the waitress (who I guess doubles as the hostess?) had her hands full, but the least she could have done is say hi and let us know she'll be right there, like most other places do. When we finally got a table and placed our order, I noticed my knife was dirty so I asked for another one, and the second one I was given was also not clean. I decided not to ask for another one and just use my fork to eat. The waitress also forgot part of our order and finally brought it out well after we mentioned it by the time we were almost ready to go. We also had to ask for the check 3 times and then waited a very long time afterwards before we actually got it. Now for the food. We ordered Syrian rolls, kibbeh, and one mixed grill with lamb kebab, kafta kebab, and mergues. Everything tasted decent except for the kibbeh and the rice in the mixed grill, but I've definitely had much better Mediterranean food at multiple other restaurants. The kibbeh was pretty bland and the rice was somehow made in a way that made me feel like I was eating plastic. We definitely won't be back here again. read more

I'm updating my review. I gave them another try for dinner and the food was delicious. I think maybe just avoid for lunch where the food was clearly old and yucky, maybe from the night prior leftover. read more

Really wonderful. Everything is great and we go there literally every time we're in bushwick. 6/5 would recommend

Just like the original location the food is awesome, but if I spend $18 + tax for 3 containers of dip it should come with enough pita to actually finish the dip. read more

My daughter brought me to this cute little place in December and I just loved it. The manager is so friendly and welcoming and the ambiance was comfy and cozy. We had Fried Cauliflower followed by Sayadia and Veggie Couscous. Everything was delicious and done up right! Our portions were generous, prices were lower than expected (31.00), and we enjoyed our xtra take out portions for lunch the following day. I look forward to making this a regular must-do stop when I'm in town! read more

Bottomless brunch! It's 60 minutes and includes a meal. Even though I'm not too big into Mediterranean food, I quite enjoyed my food. I'm he staff was friendly and helpful. And the decor is very pretty. read more

Always incredible. Grilled, juicy, flavorful meats, spectacular sides, hummus, and some of the best stone oven baked pita in town.

The food is delicious and good portions. My go-to for a night in. I love the mix spread platter. Delicious babaganoush and tabouli salad.

Talk about a great place for brunch! Staff always attentive and making sure your glass is filled and the food was great.

Used to order from this place all the time until I got a wire in my stuffed grape leave.

I love Dar! The food is cheap but amazing flavor and quality, staff are super friendly, and the ambience is lovely. The muhamara and mint tea are m favorites. The pizzas and spinach pie are also great. Highly recommend! read more

What a gem! So excited this place opened in my neighborhood! We've been twice and had the burger, the herbed eggs, and the Mediterranean omelette- all for brunch. Can't beat the freshly baked pita bread! Everything just tastes FRESH! The staff is super friendly, and the place is really cute too. Can't wait to come here for dinner. read more

This place is the real deal. Had the mixed meat platter. Perfectly cooked. Every piece of meat in it was tender and juicy. Hummus and baba ganoush was great as well. Cucumber yogurt was a bit watery for my liking. I would highly recommend delivery from this place because I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. read more

Dar 525 is my favorite go-to place in North Williamsburg, when it comes to Middle Eastern cuisine. It is owned by a Syrian man (I think) and they prepare an authentic Syrian/Lebanese dishes. My favorite is their "meat pizza" called Safiha. Very flavorful with ground lamb & beef, spices, tomatoes, etc.! It also makes a satisfying meal (you know those restaurants, where you order normal amount of food, eat it, and then feel like you might need another course? :) This is a different type of food. I would probably even call it a comfort food. On the other hand, their Shepherd salad was just OK, not bad but nothing special. So you need to find your favorite dishes, for me those are real Middle Eastern ones with meat, hummus, spices, yogurt, etc. This review is for their 168 Driggs Avenue location in Greenpoint. I now want to try their second restaurant in Williamsburg at 525 Grand Street (although, it is probably their first location. I assume so because of their "Dar 525" name). read more

This place is so good it's insane. We've been meaning to try it for a while and got take out last night for the first time. All day today I have been thinking about that meal. I got the pistachio pizza (AMAZING!!!!), my friends got the goat cheese pizza and the chicken shwarma and we shared sweet potatoes fries and pita bread. Everything was incredible. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend it. Also they're doing a fundraiser right now for refugee winter supplies which is totally awesome!!! read more

I eat here religiously. Absolutely the best food for an amazing price! The atmosphere gives moody date night realness.

How do you only have ONE children's high chair for your entire restaurant. I guess only one child at a time can eat with their family at a time. What a waste of my families time. If you have children even more than one this is not the place for you. read more

Great vibe in a great part of Brooklyn. Had a sandwich and chicken soup; both of which tasted good. My favorite part might be decor. All in all, loved everything about it from the service to the restrooms (pretty cool). read more

Had their kafta kebab lunch platter. Total steal. Killer Arabic music playing in the background. Two links of kafta, with white rice, a huge dollop of hummus, another heaping mass of babaganouj, and fluffy pita fresh out of the oven. Some salad and pickles too. Delicious coffee. read more

You're greeted by the smell of fresh baked pizza and bread from their brick oven. It's smaller than the original location but it's inviting and cozy. I tried the chicken soup and shepherd salad. This might be the best chicken soup I've ever had. I hope my mom doesn't read this!! Lol read more

I went to Lebanon and fell in love with labne. This is the best labne I've had since. Oh did I tell you I love labne? So glad this place opened up. Honestly the best middle eastern food I have in NYC. And it's cheap. And they bake their pita fresh and bring it to the table. The Syrian rolls are delicious. I have both the chicken gyro and chicken swarama and they are both delicious. Also the babaganoush is also the best I have had in NYC. Haven't tried the pizza yet but they look great. One strange thing is their humus isn't that great. They also have great lunch specials, $5 for a sandwich. read more

Was searching online for a place to order lunch and sorted by ratings. Dar 525 topped the list so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! They even have lunch specials. I ordered the chicken kebob lunch platter and it was delicious. Nice chunks of grilled chicken served over rice with the best babaganou I ever had, hummus, salad and pita. All served in individual sections. I will definitely be ordering again! read more

Great to have another food option in the neighborhood, especially since we lost Greenpoint Heights and Boulevard. But solid food, good prices, comfortable atmosphere. Can get a bit toasty with the oven, but its part of the charm. Huge fan of the cucumber dip. read more

we have been going to dar for a few years. it's consistently delicious and always feels healthy with lots of good choices. we had been on the weekend, Sunday recently, and unfortunately had the worst service. the waitress was basically, rude. she behaved as if we were taking her time from her texting. she never asked if we liked our food, I had to ask for everything. after that experience, I look through the window, if she's working we go somewhere else. it's a shame, as I know the quality of food is so good. read more
