Thank You guys for stepping in.

Hero's amongst us, Earthly Angels. I wasn't going to write this review since it's not about the food. I'd like to thank the group of Men who stood up to protect my friend and I eating at Daphne's. A one eyed homeless man walked in and circled our table a couple times. His energy was off and within seconds this man's vile behavior was directed towards me. I chucked my phone in my purse ready to swing it to create distance, I kinda blanked out because I'm not sure of the details. As soon as he stepped towards me the whole restaurant of MEN stood up and chased him out. I later learned he's been there before and has caused trouble. Since I was not hurt I don't feel I can make a report, but I do feel strongly that the restaurant should do a No Trespass on this guy for liability reasons. He's definitely elevated his level of engagement with people and someone will eventually get hurt. I won't return here due to this incident , it wasn't his first or last time targeting women. BTW my food was great, but I didn't get to finish it since I was pumped with adrenaline. My fight or flight response probably wasn't normal, and I apologize if I put others in danger. I'm truly thankful for the people who saw it coming a mile away and did the right thing.

Went on a Sunday night a little after six. I try to give all restaurants the benefit of the doubt during Covid but this one I couldnt skip over... Got the mix plate with gyros and chicken skewer. The gyros were bland. They did not have the crust or color they should have and were mush. The chicken skewer was so dry it was inedible. Four bites into my salad I found a hair... hopefully they do better when things return to normal but right now I won't go back

This is what I was given as 4 pita breads

If I could give this place no stars I would . So I went in to order gyros and the lady Infor med me that for the price of the sandwiches sir would be a bette r deal to get their plate . Informing Mt that I would get 4 pita breads per each plate . If you look at the pictures ! It does not add up . Them I asked to buy more bread and was informed it was 1.0" per piece !! Omg are you kidding me . Then when I asked about the 2 soda at I ordered she acted like I had just kicked her dog . VERY VERY RUDE PEOPLE !! Never have I been to a place and been treated so bad . I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN .

This is a copy of how much I paid for this tiny amount of food... I have never over paid for so little.

The food tasted fine. The spanakopita was really greasy which is not authentic but it tasted OK. Those 2 pieces to cost me $8 dollars. The lemon chicken soup tasted pretty good, but I paid seven dollars for this little tiny cup that they called a bowl. The cup and their bowl happen to be the same size, just a different shape. I didn't notice that before I purchased it, but it's the standard Starbucks trick. Oh yeah, I paid seven dollars for that. Then they gave me one piece of pita bread for free cut into 8 little pieces.. The whole bill was $16.40 for a cup of soup and two little pieces of spanakopita, oh yeah, and a 50 Cent piece of pita bread.

Fake Greek food for people who have never had real Greek food. Instead go to Al Hamra Halal or Chicken Maison nearby.

The menu also features traditional Pakistani, Persian, and Arabic dishes, such as Beef Nihari and Haleem. After several visits, here are my thoughts on some of their grilled meats and desserts. Beef Kofta - 3/5. The kofta was a bit dry and tough. I wish it had more fat and seasoning to make it juicier and more flavorful. The grilling is also somewhat inconsistent--sometimes the kofta comes out beautifully browned, while other times it's over-charred. Grilled Fish - 4/5. This is easily my favorite item on the menu and, in my opinion, their best dish. The fish is seasoned just enough to enhance its natural flavor without overpowering it. It's grilled very well, developing a beautiful golden-brown crust while remaining moist and tender inside. Beef Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. The quality of the beef is decent, especially considering the price. Given the cut of meat they use, they've done a commendable job with the grilling. The beef has a solid seasoning base and a nice sear with just enough char to add flavor without becoming overly smoky. It's reasonably tender, though I wish it retained a bit more juiciness. Chicken Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. Very similar to the beef shish kebab. It has good flavor and is grilled well, but it could benefit from being a little juicier. Gyro - 2/5. Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. The gyro meat on the vertical spit often appears to be rotating without enough heat to properly caramelize and crisp the exterior. As a result, the meat comes across as dry, rubbery, and lacking the rich roasted flavor that makes a great gyro. Kunafa (Knafeh) - 3/5. This dessert has both strengths and weaknesses. The cheese filling has a pleasant, slightly salty flavor and a creamy texture, and I appreciate that it isn't overly sweet. However, the syrup is underwhelming. A good kunafa should be generously coated with a fragrant sugar syrup - ideally infused with rose water or orange blossom water - to provide sweetness and aroma. I also wish the kataifi, the shredded pastry dough, were crispier and lighter to create a better contrast with the gooey cheese filling. Overall, Al Hamra Kabob Grill is one of the better places to enjoy Middle Eastern-style grilled dishes in the South Bay. While a few menu items could be improved, the grilled fish stands out as excellent, and the shish kebabs are solid choices. The owner is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. It's not perfect, but it's a restaurant I enjoy visiting from time to time and one I'd recommend if you're craving grilled Middle Eastern flavors.

I wanted to follow up my very short review that I wrote about this restaurant over a decade ago as I have continued to frequent this restaurant and I have always enjoyed their food. What they offer here is a really nice selection of Mediterranean-based cuisine. They always use the best ingredients, and the food always arrives with a great presentation. Mostly, the food here tastes very-very good. And, isn't that the right reason you actually go to a restaurant in the first place? This is a family-owned and operated business. From this, you can really tell that everybody who works here really cares about the restaurant and the customers. Thus, it's always a great dining experience. Their menu offers a really nice selection of everything from gyro's to kebabs onto salads and the like. There's a really nice choice of both entrées and side dishes for you to choose from. The one thing I will say about this establishment, and this is certainly not a criticism, but whenever you eat here, they always keep the food coming. Whether it is the pita chips, the pita bread, the whatever, when you leave here you are going to be very-very full. This restaurant is located just off of Hawthorne Boulevard and a block from PCH. Thus, it's very easy to find. In terms of parking they have a parking lot over to one side of the building. You could always find a spot there. They also have a number of spots on the street, in front of the restaurant. This is where I always prefer to park. Easy in, easy out. Overall, if you're looking for some great Mediterranean-based food, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed.
