The business was not particularly busy and there were like 5 employees so I was not sure why I had to wait nearly 3-5 minutes before someone could help me. Three stars for good service, the gyro was a massive let down, the gyro sauce tasted like ranch and veggies mixed together. The gyro meat was bland. The tri tip kabob was yummy, soft, juicy and easy to munch on, not the best tasting but not bad. No comment on the rice, I had a spoon and the rest went in the bin. The food is delicious! I ordered the Dinner deal (2 proteins, 2 sides, a starter, and a drink for $11.58) with spanakopita, steak kabob, rice, fries, and hummus. The steak was very flavorful and cooked nice and tender. The spanakopita was good enough that I ordered a second to go. The crust was flaky and delicate, the filling was savory and creamy. The fries and rice were fries and rice, nothing special. The pots and hummus was good also. The hummus was good consistency if a little timid, flavor-wise. For a total of just over $12, Daphne's was a wonderful value and whenever I see one during my travels, I know I will be in for a good meal at a good price. read more

Love this place. The food is always good, especially the lemon chicken soup. I wish there was bigger portions because that soup really hits the spot on a cold day or when I'm feeling sick. This location in particular I've never had an issue with their staff. Daphne's offer great commercialized Mediterranean/Greek food. This location is just like any other Daphne's. They always appear to be understaffed, but their employees make up for the slack. They now offer lunch and dinner specials. For dinner, you can get a soup, entree, and a snack-sized dessert for $8. For you calorie-counting folks, the menus specify calories for EVERYTHING on the menu. I would suggest signing up for their e-mail specials. For the past three weeks, I've been taking advantage of the 'Buy any one plate, salad, or sandwich and GET ONE FREE'. You really can't beat that. Although, I would have to say that the prices are VERY REASONABLE to begin with. QUICK TIP: Do yourself a favor and try the caramel pecan baklava. Just thank me later for it! =) read more

So I went to this establishment excited to try their food. I arrived at 12:45 on Monday. After I ordered, it took over 10 minutes to get my food. Upon receiving it, I was so extremely disappointed. First, the quantity was like a kids meal, the steak size was no bigger than my thumb, the chicken was burnt on the outside.... however this wasn't even the worst part, it all was cold. .. seriously this is not acceptable! Now it became clear to me, I wasn't going to be able to eat lunch today, due to myself and others that came here to eat at lunch during our business day. I notified the manager on duty, who didn't have a name tag and didn't tell me either. I received a refund so I could get back to the office, and didn't have time to try and fix it. ..though I'm not really sure that I would have let them. The young girl at the flat top had at least 20 or more chicken skewers cooking that were very burnt on the outside, and probably extremely dry on the inside. After so many Mediterranean restaurant disasters I've had, I was hesitant at trying anything else. However, I remembered that my parents had taken me to a place called Daphne's a long time ago. My husband and I decided to try this place - and I'm glad we did! We got our "fix" for authentic Mediterranean food and left stuffed... without a hole burning in our pockets! I got the Original Gyro with hummus and fries - AWESOME. It was definitely worth the price, considering how much food we got. Be sure to try the Shortbread cookie...because holy crap that thing gave me a mouthgasm...! Definitely recommended! read more

We used to love Daphne's, but how things have changed. Today we had a terrible experience. First of all, it cost almost $50 for two plates of food and two regular drinks. We ordered the Mix & Match. I understand that everything costs more these days, but this meal was not worth $50. The worst part is that it took over 30 minutes to get our food and there were only three other people in the place. When they brought our food, the chicken kabobs weren't even on the plate and we had to wait another 5 minutes for them. When the manager did bring the chicken kabobs to our table, I told him that 33 minutes to get our food was unacceptable. No apologies. Instead, he blamed his employees, saying that he was in the back and they should have told him. He lied. We watched him up front preparing food the whole time. In addition, as a manager, it is his job to train his employees, so if they failed (which they did not), he failed. The blame falls on him alone. Also, the salad had brown, wilted lettuce and the front counter was filthy. There was a nasty, dirty stainless steel bowl near the registers. I am not sure why it was there, but it seemed to be affixed to the counter. The area around that had all kinds of dirt and what appeared to be food particles. Daphne's used to be good, but the new management, lack of cleanliness, and very high prices have ruined it. I may be able to overlook the higher prices, but the horrible service and filth cannot be overlooked. I suggest Daphne's replace the manager in this store. In the meantime, we will not be spending another dime here! read more

it was my first time trying this place out, and i have to say it was a wonderful experience! not only was the staff really pleasant and helpful, but the food was incredibly delicious. i had the greek salad with grilled chicken, and my friend had a gyro wrap. it's so easy for grilled chicken to be flavorless and dry, but it was incredibly flavorful and was wonderful with the salad. will definitely come back again, as the prices are very agreeable with the quality of the food and service!! definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys fresh, light flavors!! thank you for a wonderful first experience of greek food, daphne's! read more

Ordered online thru Daphne's website at the Ontario location on Sunday. Everything went well and I went with a 5:30 pm pick up time. Their site changed it to 5:45 pm because they were busy. My husband went to pick it up at 5:45 and there was a note on the door saying that they were closed for the day. They took my charge card and billed my credit card for the payment. Now I have to contact my credit card company to dispute the payment. All I wanted was a gyro & now all I have is a pi$&ed off husband. Thanks for that! read more

Love Daphne's but customer service can definitely ruin a great meal. This was my first and last visit to this Ontario location. I am very dissatisfied with this place because the cashier wasn't friendly. I got to the restaurant 40 mins before closing and the cashier didn't look happy at all because they were already cleaning up. She took our order but did not look friendly at all. Also given that we were the only people in the whole place we took the bottle of sauce to the table rather than wasting the little plastic containers, the cashier came to us and told us that the bottles are not to take to the tables. Also the outdoor furniture is all beat up. They are old and dirty and it doesn't look welcoming to eat outdoors. Tables are disgusting with rust and stains. Lastly, halfway through our meal, the cashier came to our table to ask what type of soda we were drinking because she was cleaning up and disconnecting the soda machine. If there's something I do not appreciate, is being rushed to eat my food and not enjoying it. Extremely disappointed because I drove 25 mins to have Daphne's just to be rushed and get service with a fuchi face. For the price you pay at Daphne's , I recommend you to go eat somewhere else where your business will be appreciated. read more

They have to-go containers of fire feta!! I have been a Daphne's fan for a long time. Good, quick food that's as convenient as typical fast food but is fresh and truly healthy. This is the kind of place I run to when I don't want to think and just need to grab something in a hurry. My go to is the chicken salad with fire feta. The "fire feta" is their own little concoction of feta cheese with whatever spicy flavorings they add to it to make it more like a dip. Its actually spicy which is rare among non-Mexican food restaurants. Anyway, the fire feta is AMAZING and the reason I like Daphne's so much. I happened to be in Ontario, and happened to have the occasion to eat at the Daphne's there, and--do my eyes deceive me?!--little to-go containers of their various dips, including my beloved fire feta. Now I can take it home and make my own spicy greek salads whenever I want. I feel like this new development may backfire on them as customers like me will realize its much easier to make a salad at home using Daphne's fire feta in tub form, rather than schlepping to the restaurant to pick up some lettuce leaves, grilled chicken breast, and slices of tomato. In fact, with this new revelation I may never again purchase a chicken salad from Daphne's. I guess if Daphne's (as we know it) ceases to exist and becomes simply a gourmet dip shop, you can say that I warned them. Until then, I am living in fire feta heaven. read more

I gotta say, I usually jump at the chance to eat at a Daphne's, but this one was just So-So. I love the fresh taste and flavors I usually get from any Daphne's California Greek. And I miss it, because the one we had locally closed. I haven't had anything I've not enjoyed, so I stopped here while on my way to the airport last week. The restaurant was clean, service was Ok. but when I got my food, my gyro was almost cold and the meat didn't taste very fresh. I should have gone with my gut and not eaten here, because my gut paid for it later. We came about ten minutes before noon--before the lunch rush hit. I sat in the back, but moved because the table was dirty. I moved again, and then again. The tables should have been cleaned since I do not believe they are open for breakfast. So, I wasn't surprised when I got an upset GI tract within 30 minutes of eating. If they can't keep eating surfaces clean, what must the kitchen look like? My poor husband paid the consequences, though I won't go into detail here. He'll have a Yelp reminder of that terrible night. read more

If they had better service, this Daphne's would a perfect 10. As it stands, they still have better Mediterranean food than any place I've ever been. The gyro pitas are better. The salads are better.
