I'd been wanting to try this place for a while, and when work was busy, I decided to order from here for delivery. The food arrived warm and the portion sizes are great! I went with the Koobideh Combo which is a skewer of chicken and beef with rice and chargrilled veggies. It also came with a salad and I ordered some garlic paste, which I believe is their version of toom, on the side. Packaging was immaculate and they even included some packets of sumac, utensils and napkins. I didn't opt to pay extra for them to make the plate spicy, but I kind of wish I had. The food was good, but it was a tad bit bland for my liking. I also didn't care for the garlic paste as it was missing that typical "zing" I'm used to. This new place is AMAZING!! We came in here to celebrate my friends daughter being home from her first semester at college and we all got different kabob combos which were all delicious. Madi's wing kabob looked yummy so that may be my next order!! The lentil soup was also tasty and the garlic toum was of course delicious as well. I've been meaning to try Habibi Kabob for a while now and finally made it in on Friday. I wasn't sure in the portion sizes so decided to go with the To Go Special which comes with a koobideh, basmati rice, tomato, Anaheim pepper and a choice of soup of salad. I called ahead to place my order. They are located in the space where Citrus Kitchen used to be, next to the hair salon. The food was ready when I arrived and I received excellent customer service. I also had a 20% off coupon that I received in the mail I was able to use. With the coupon my total came out to ~$27. The food was really good, lots of flavor and meat was juicy. The only thing was that we had so much rice left over and we were both so full. Two days later (Sunday), my husband was saying he wanted to eat it again. Yes, he enjoyed it that much! This time I ordered the Koobideh Combo with one beef and one chicken with an extra side salad and hummus. Now this portion size for the both of us was perfect! So thrilled to have this new restaurant in the area! My colleagues and I came in to check it out and we were greeted by the very friendly owner right away. He explained that the business has been open for six months and that they are very excited to show the community their wonderful recipes and service. We each ordered chicken kebab with a side of baba ghanoush, and it was absolutely delicious. The rice, the chicken, and the Ganoush were all outstanding. The layout is very simple and seems very efficient and the best part is its proximity to work. Perhaps one recommendation would be to have some sort of self-serve water with some cups, but the owner was very generous and gave us a bottle of water for free. Love this restaurant. Have been visiting since the first week they've opened. Get it at least 2-3x a month. Staff is amazing and love having a good halal option in Alta Loma, less than a mile off the 210 freeway. The food is consistently good. Also love that every entree always comes with a salad or soup. Their portions are very generous as well. The ambiance of the restaurant is what you would expect for a grab and go place, they do have a small seating area where we have sat in for dining, but it's tight. On Sundays, I visit one sister in a memory care facility and then my other sister in an assisted care facility. It's a long drive for me (three hours each way) and when dinner rolls around, I'm hungry. They aren't taking great care of my sister in the memory care place, think Alzheimer's, so the family changed my day to Tuesday. What a smile came over my face. What joy swelled in my heart. Oh the rice! If you can't get rice right, I won't be back and what to my delight should appear on my plate but the most aromatic basmati ever. I ordered baba ganush for an appetizer with pita bread. It tasted like eggplant( which is the correct flavor). My sister wanted baklava (she's 84) but I told her to slow her roll since our main hadn't arrived. Then came the kabobs. We had chicken, beef and lamb. They were perfect. If you don't know Persian food, you must understand it is not Arabic. It is not spicy or flavored with spices Americans aren't familiar with. It's pretty true to the flavor of the meats and their meat is of a high quality. It was juicy and tender and flavorful. It came with the grilled tomato and a grilled green pepper. From the moment it hit my palate, I knew that it was God's will I should have such a wonderful meal. We never even ordered the baklava because we were too full. I drank my yoghurt drink (dugh) and spent time with my sister in food paradise. What a wonderful meal. Oh, and I almost forgot, the service was perfect. Happy, happy, joy, joy. read more
