Baba Ganoush

Food is so amazing, hubby and I ordered the beef shawarma wrap, our favorite Baba Ganoush and baklava for dessert. Serving portions are generous and I was surprised that the fries (served as side) are also really good! Service is excellent, all staff are friendly and provides the best customer experience. Ambiance is great and the restaurant is neat and clean, so as the surroundings outside. Highly recommending Layla's Restaurant to our community. ;-)

Grab-and-go

My boss has raved about this place on several occasions. When I saw we have a location right in…read moreVictoria Gardens, I decided I had to check this place out! I placed an order online for pickup and was given a pickup time. The place is very open, spacious and just has a neat vibe to it. I walked right up to the counter to give them my name for pick up and they said they were finishing it up. There were other people waiting for their orders as well. A couple minutes later, the gentleman behind the counter called out "Daniel" and the guy waiting next to me jumped right in and grabbed the bag and took off. I had wondered "I hope they didn't pronounce my name wrong and that was MY order." But didn't think much of it. Then the gentleman behind the counter asked me the name for my order. When I said "Danielle" he said "oh that was yours, the guy just left." He kind of looked at me like it was my problem to fix, so I took off after the guy and the employee followed me. Thankfully, the guy didn't get very far because he was verifying the order, so we made the exchange. Whew! I ordered the charbroiled chicken shish kabob with extra grilled veggies and a side Mediterranean salad as well as the hummus trio with sliced cucumbers instead of pita bread. The chicken kabob meal was delicious! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the option to add on more veggies was much appreciated! I was really excited about the hummus trio, but sadly I found it to be lacking flavor. With the 3 options of regular hummus, spicy red bell pepper and edamame, I was definitely expecting a flavor explosion, but it fell flat for me. I'd definitely come back to try more of their main dishes. Seems like a great little spot to dine in.

$50 for less than a pound of meat? What.A.Rip.Off. We will not be returning. We've been customers…read moreof PKG for a number of years, and it was great (while it lasted). It started going downhill when they got rid of the PKG Rewards. We stopped going soon after that. For some reason, we decided to give a chance one more time a couple of days ago. Big mistake. We ordered to-go, and got the "Family Kabob Combo", 2 skewers. Since we're not big fans of their chicken, we subbed one of the chicken skewers for two Koobideh (with an upcharge of $6) and one Salmon skewer (with another upcharge of $5). The total was $45.97 + Tax ($3.56), grand total of $49.53. This would have been OK, if they gave you a reasonable amount of food for what you pay. Instead, we got a large container of rice, and two small containers of meat and vegetables. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photos, what you get meat-wise is basically extremely skimpy. The two Koobideh skewers weighed a total of 10 OZ. That's TWO of them together (see photo), not one, they weighed only 5 OZ each - barely more than a quarter pound hamburger. The Salmon "skewer" had a total of 5 pieces of salmon, each weighing only 0.8 OZ each, a total of 4 OZ! So what we got for the princely sum of $50 was 14 OZ of meat total - less than a pound, and a whole lot of rice, which costs them next to nothing. If you look at a lot of the older photos of the Koobideh skewers here on Yelp, you can see how much they have shrunk in just a few short years. My guesstimate is they're 50% smaller than they used to be, I know for sure since I bought them in the past that they used to be much larger. The price has increased 35% since we last ate here a couple of years ago, and you get 50% less food for that money, losing on both ends of the transaction. We feel cheated, to say the least. It's too bad, since we do like the taste of the food itself, it hasn't changed - what has changed is the value for what you pay. It isn't worth what they're charging for such a little bit of food (many other restaurants have gone the same way, sad to say). We won't be eating there ever again after this experience, it's impossible to enjoy a meal when you know you're being ripped off.

If you're looking for the definitive Lebanese experience in the IE, this is the order to beat. The Breakdown: * The Trio Grill: You get a sampling of everything--chicken, beef, and kefta kebabs. The chicken kebab was the standout for me; it was incredibly tender and had that perfect open-flame char that you just can't replicate at home. * Baba Ghanoush: This was a smoky revelation. You can taste the fire-roasted eggplant in every bite, and the texture was perfectly whipped and creamy without losing its soul. It's easily some of the best in the area. * Tabouleh: So many places use too much bulgur, but Mezzaterranean does it right. It was a bright, herbaceous explosion of fresh parsley and lemon that cut through the richness of the grilled meats perfectly. * The Extras: It all comes together with their fluffy rice and warm pita. Pro tip: use the pita to make little "mini-tacos" with a piece of chicken, a dollop of baba ghannouj, and a pinch of tabouleh. The Verdict: The portions on the Trio Plate are massive (definitely enough to share, though you might not want to). Everything tasted fresh, vibrant, and authentic. It's clear this family-run spot puts a lot of heart into their recipes. 10/10, will be back for more of that garlic sauce!

Came here last night because we were craving something fresh. It is located in huge shopping…read morecomplex so there was lots of parking. It's just as described by other reviewers...Chipotle style establishment with Mediterranean food. The servers work like an assembly line, serving you at different stations. The staff were not overtly friendly. They were just very matter of fact, asking you whether you want rice or salad. The line was very long when we arrived around 6:30 pm but it seemed to move pretty efficiently. I was happy to see that none of the items I wanted were "all out" which often is the case when you go to a Chipotle or custom pizza place like Blaze. The only thing I noticed was that there was litter all throughout the restaurant since the workers appeared to be tied up serving and making food. We got a kids build your own and a bowl. They packed it in with everything we wanted. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Dinner was so refreshing. One of my fave items at Cava is their pita chips. I can't wait to go back!!

This company lost a customer for life today over $0.11 worth of arugula. They told me they are…read morefollowing the rules. Fine. Well this message is for corporate not the staff following the rules. The customer is the only reason you have a business. Being flexible for your customer is the only way you stay in business. Let's talk about basic unit economics. These are assumptions, but it's designed to prove a point. An average bowl at your establishment will cost you about $3.00. You are going to charge me about $10 before tax for that bowl. That's $7 in profit. If your rule is only two base ingredients, and a customer asked for a third (arugula)... give it to them... you have enough margin to absorb an $0.11 handful of arugula. Why risk angering the customer? Especially when the customer didn't get all the options they could have gotten, no dips, not veggies, just base (leafy greens/rice) and meat... meaning my bowl probably cost you sub $2.00 oppose to $3.00. You have plenty of margin to give me a handful of arugula. Regardless of the unit economic numbers being accurate, you have plenty of margin otherwise you could not operate. If you can't afford to give the odd customer an extra base here and there, close your doors and go back to business school. The customer is the only reason you have a job, keep them happy and coming back. Remember that. I have been coming to Cava locations across California since 2017. I have spent thousands of dollars across that time at Cava. Some weeks I'd eat at Cava 5 to 7 days in a row. And I've never had a problem getting the bowl I desired, until now. This one experience has lost you the future thousands I would have spent there with my family. All over an $0.11 handful of arugula. I WILL NEVER GIVE MY MONEY AGAIN TO A COMPANY WHO DOES NOT VALUE BEING FLEXIBLE FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS... You don't want to keep your customer happy, you don't want my money... I hope for the day I read the headlines that Cava is closing locations and is going out of business.

There is plenty of parking but it gets very busy in the evenings and weekends because of the variety of food choices. There are plenty of tables but if you're a large group, have a few people sit at your table while the rest of your group goes to order the food. At Baba K, the menu was what you would expect from a Mediterranean restaurant with a good amount of choices. The prices are slightly higher than other restaurants that also serve Mediterranean food, but its expected due to its location. I got the filet mignon meal which consisted of large pieces of filet mignon situated on a bed of rice. It came with a salad (pretty tasty), a piece of pita bread, hummus and I chose tabouleh (a finely chopped parsley appetizer) as my side. The meat was cooked to a nice medium rare and was tender. The rice was good. Actually, my whole meal was good. I will definitely be coming back to Baba K.
