My partner and I were in Ontario this weekend for our firm's annual kickoff event. I decided that I wanted Indian food, and I used Yelp to find New Indian Restaurant. It was a short drive from Ontario DoubleTree. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived, but not more than a few minutes. The server was alone helping about six tables. He was very kind! I ordered Malai Kofta, butter naan, and Aloo Tiki. My partner got Butter Chicken and white rice. The server made certain to explain the spice level and asked us each which level we wanted while comparing our previous preferences elsewhere. Excellent customer care! The food was out of this world incredible! Everything was absolutely delicious, and I had to force myself not to eat everything. I wanted to keep a little bit of leftovers for lunch the next day. I did and they were even better the next day! I cannot recommend this restaurant high enough, and I know for sure, my partner and I will be back when we are in the area! read more

Lamb Korma was sooo flavorful, creamy and rich. The spice was exactly the amount I wanted; I wasn't expecting the big portions though which I'm grateful to take home and enjoy again. I come to this spot every time I'm in Upland. The staff for weekend lunches are very friendly and kind. I've come multiple times getting entrees or lunch specials. This most recent time I ordered the lunch special thali and it's such a great deal! Comes with rice and naan and a great portion of entree of your choice + sides + dessert. It was plenty of food for leftovers as well. The garlic naan was buttery garlicky deliciousness and I can eat it all day everyday. My partner got the non-lunch vegan thali and it was SO much food. The vegan garlic naan is without butter. Comes with a samosa too! Besides the food being outright delicious, the bathroom was also very clean and is in the back by some storage items. The food was fabulous, and the service was great! I ordered the Vegetarian Thali so that I could try a variety of things. WAY TOO MUCH food for one person, but everything was delicious. They are a little tucked away in a strip mall, but it is worth the effort to find them. The cashier recommended the Kheer for the dessert option (the only thing I completely finished). We stopped in for the weekend special. The server was very friendly and pleasant, took the time to discuss each item with us. We decided to try all three items listed. We were not familiar with the Dahi Bhalla, the yogurt was ice cold which was surprising on the first bite but we enjoyed them, not enough to order them again but it was good for what that dish is. The Tandoori Chicken came out on a sizzling platter with onions and peppers, the meat was juicy and the flavor was excellent. The Chole Bhature was excellent! The bhature was large, light crisp and not super oily. The chole was perfectly seasoned and spiced. The raita was good with chunks of vegetables. The mint chutney tasted super fresh and was a great addition to the meal. The dining room is quaint and comfortable, not overly decorated or loud. I was craving Indian food, and while there is another restaurant closer to me, I actually prefer the food here. There were mostly families dining in the mid-sized dining room which had tables placed closely together. The service is attentive and helpful. The menu is extensive. I had the mutter paneer, aloo gobi , and chicken korma with puri. Puri is not served at many Indian restaurants, so I was happy to have it freshly made. You can adjust the spice level of your food from mild to extra spicy. I was going to go with spicy, but the server suggested I try medium spicy. I was able to easily handle it, so I think I'll try spicy next time. That being said, my spice tolerance is good as another customer struggled with the medium. I completed my meal with some falooda ice cream. I ordered extra garlic naan to take home. The leftovers I took home easily became several more meals. read more

Honestly the best Indian takeout I've had! We ordered the butter chicken (spicy), malai kofta (spicy), an order or garlic cheese naan and garlic naan. Ordering was a breeze you can call or place it online, they estimated around 15-20 minutes. We got there and it is a clean place, it was late night so it wasn't busy which was nice. The butter chicken was amazing! Spicy for sure meant spiiiicy but still so flavorful! I loved that it was not greasy either, a lot of butter chicken comes with a layer of grease or butter and doesn't sit will but this one was perfect. Malai kofta was also delicious! Not as spicy but perfect still. The naan was also amazing! 20/10 read more

Details: Ordered the Chicken Masala Combo and an extra Chicken Masala with Garlic Naan -- such a great deal at around $11! The combo comes with curry, rice, and naan, and the portion is generous. The spices were aromatic and flavorful as always, but this time the food was noticeably saltier than usual. Even with naan and rice, it was hard to balance out the saltiness. The chicken was a bit tougher and less tender than my previous visits, though it was still juicy inside. The garlic naan had plenty of garlic and cilantro, full of flavor, but was slightly overcooked and ended up a little burnt. Staff are friendly and attentive -- they always repeat the order to make sure everything's correct, which I really appreciate. However, the pickup wait time was much longer than expected. I was told 15 minutes, left after 25, and still had to wait another 5-10 minutes upon arrival. The décor is simple but filled with authentic Indian touches -- stepping inside feels a bit like being transported to another corner of the world. I was visiting from out of town and was really in the mood for Indian food. This place really hit the spot. It was pretty quiet inside but the staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was great as well. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food we got. My only complaint, is the water tasted like tap water. I felt a little bit of an attitude due to our choices of preference in ordering. The server was slightly rude and called us "basic" due to our choices. We had a guest with us that had never tried Indian food and we ordered our regular and favorite dishes, no big deal . I was slightly embarrassed because I felt this young lady server was looking down at us . It could have easily been prevented with a simple "hey, I see you really like these dishes but have you ever tried this dish, it's delicious you should give it a try etc.. instead she called us "basic" and made me feel uncomfortable for our choices, and I had to ask her what dish she recommends . We had not been back since this was Ashirwad The Blessings. Sp?? It was vegetarian then and we enjoyed it but not so much some of the cusomers. Some were returning to Claremont colleges from Coachella and there were bare feet for one diner, lots of F word conversations at loud pitch. I guess we are getting old and cranky but it wasnt our vibe. With new owners and menu, it was a complete turnaround. The food was some of the best, from coast to coast. Curries and biryani were cooked to perfection, with spice level on target. Chicken tikka masala portion was much bigger than at Blessings. We took enough home for another meal. Alas, all of the naan was gone. Really was the best. They have a different malai kofta recipe and that was the only disappointment. Blessings served them as fat oblong dumplings with more mixture to savor. They are now small orbs with a tougher outer skin. Will probably move on to other dishes. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now, having seen the great reviews on Yelp! Today, I placed an order online via their website and scheduled it for a later pickup, after my daughter's dance lesson. I received an email confirmation for my order and signed up for text alerts, but I didn't receive any updates. I called the restaurant when we were en route and they confirmed the order was ready for pick up! Perfect! When I arrived, the order was sitting on the table and the two people inside said I could just take it. I could easily see my name on the bag so, off I went! The location is nice and spacious and there's a decent amount of parking available. Everything smelled amazing! We were so hungry! The garlic naan was so fresh and tasty. The basmati rice was cooked perfectly. The Tandoori Chicken had great flavor and was very tender. The Dal Thurka (Punjabi Style) was delicious and had just the right amount of a spicy kick. My favorite dish is Butter Chicken and theirs is delicious. The only downside I saw is I would have liked to have received a little more chicken in the Butter Chicken order. Perfect for dinner with family or friends. Regardless the food is still really good and authentic. You can never go wrong going here! Very fragrant and flavorful. You're able to choose the spice level, the spiciest is 3/5 comparable to eating habaneros on an empty stomach! Yum! read more
