UPDATE : while i was looking for my rice cooker and hoping i had some rice in the pantry for dinner the restauarant called twice to try to resolve this issue with me. PREVIOUS REVIEW: Ordered from Door Dash. Ordered rice, paid for rice, did not receive rice. Called restaurant and they were unable to resolve so now I have to make rice so I can enjoy my meal. So much for not cooking tonight. You need to check your orders before they leave and where is my refund? $3.44 for rice I did not receive. read more

I was thinking about how the other day Toby told me that I'm like a wine drinker and not a label drinker when it comes to food. I care more about the dish than the style of cuisine. I could say I like seafood, but it'd be more accurate to say I like trout or shrimp dishes. Or I could say that I like barbecue--and it'd probably be the most apt description of favorite cuisines--but you could also say I'm more of a fan of St. Louis ribs, burnt ends, and hot links. It's the same with Indian food. I do like Indian food, but I effing love Goat Curry. It's a top 5 dish for me. It's such a premier dish for me that it's one of the dishes I'll scout for by name on Yelp--along with hash, poutine, St. Louis ribs, and trout. And Aroma has some excellent goat curry. It's spicy, spectacular, and gamey in all the best ways. There's something about the smoky, shreddy, and beefy consistency of a long-simmering goat dish that just does it for me, especially when it's drenched in some seasoned and flavorful curry sauce as it is here. It's a perfect storm of everything I like. It's the perfect dish. The space here, though small, is very comfy and has some great music playing in the background. The same too with all the staff, they make their presence known when you need help but otherwise slide into the background when you're trying to ear. It made for a very pleasant environment to eat your meal in peace. It's yet another great place to get your goat when goat is all you have on the brain. Word to the wise.. when requesting naan, ask them not to wrap the naan in this red checkered paper. It'll bleed onto your naan and it may not be the easiest process to have it replaced. read more

Craving some good eats on the drive home, I stepped into Aroma Indian Grill to be welcomed by awkward silence, a potential debate about would serve me. Seating was easy, as there was nobody else in the restaurant. Even for a party of one, though, their maroon tablecloths do be staring back at you before you take a sip of refreshing water. I had their chicken tikka masala and goat cheese and scallion naan. (Note: While ordering, you may be pressured to order more, perhaps a drink or two... or another side...) Ordering and service were pretty quick, and the chef quickly came in to check in on how the food was. Chicken tikka masala? Amazing! I'd come back to order this and only this if I did return... I'm not surprised this is one of their most popular dishes! It was well-seasoned with spices, and the chicken was tender. My favorite was the portion sizes - both the dish and the rice - were generous and appropriate. Goat cheese and scallion naan? Mmmmm, this I'd recommend skipping! It tasted a bit bland, perhaps this combo ain't it, or there wasn't enough scallions... or the goat cheese naan was less interesting than expected. Paying was straightforward, though it took a while, since most of the staff were behind the counter and absent after service. Sharing? Definitely possible to finish both as a party of one - I did! Of course, I left with a bloated, happy belly, and I wouldn't expect anything less on my next visit. read more

This place is amazing. Very relaxing and chill. We came here on a Thursday for the all you can eat special. The selection of food is great. I recommend the butter chicken. The chili naan is delicious, but be careful it's really spicy. They also have garlics naan that is really good. Andy took care of us. Great customer service and really friendly . Very welcoming when we first entered. Came for the lunch buffet and it was excellent. Well prepared, flavorful, and tasty. Went with friends for dinner on Friday night. Staff was friendly and restaurant was not crowded. Everything we had was delicious!! This place doesn't live up to the hype in my humble opinion. All the flavors are there, I just feel like I needed some basmati rice with my dish and maybe some Nan bread. I ordered to go online ahead of time and they didn't make my food til I got there. Also I had to ask for utensils and napkins and they were stingy on those. Hello, about to eat some messy food here I need plenty of napkins please , not just the 1 he reluctantly handed me. I just had dinner here, I ordered the butter chicken and veggie samosas couldn't finish it. The butter chicken was too spicy and so salty... I really thought it was chicken tiki masala. Now I eat Indian food All the time and I always order butter chicken this was not it for me.. I had to get it to go. My other half will eat it! We always get the vegetable korma which is absolutely amazing! Very flavorful with a perfect consistency. This time we also got the palak paneer which did not disappoint. The spice levels we requested, 9 on the korma and 7 on the palak, were spot on. We also get one rice and one garlic naan. The naan is delightful with great flavor and a slight crispiness. The portions are generous so we get to bring decent amount of leftovers home. The service is quick and friendly, perfectly attentive and interested in making sure our experience was pleasant. The atmosphere is very comfortable and feels a little upscale. More on the modern side compared to other Indian restaurants. I highly recommend this place, you won't regret it. read more

The place itself is nice. Tables seemed clean and the environment was comforting. Service was fine. Nothing to rave about. Went for the lunch buffet at around 1 pm. A few other people were in there when I was. Buffet offerings were limited. Less than other Indian cuisine lunch buffets I've had in the area. The food was a little disappointing. Rice was very crunchy. Did not enjoy that. Everything else was ok. The experience was a disappointing lunch buffet. The price was fair so I can't complain too much. Would come back again for dinner to have the chance to order the options I'd like and give it another shot. read more

I went here for the first time about 5 months ago and couldn't stop thinking about it since. I recently placed a to-go order with pretty much the same things I ordered last time and it did not disappoint. I will say the entrees don't include rice but 1 order is enough for 2 people. I ordered 2 and had way more leftover rice than I had liked to have. My only "complaint" which isn't really a complaint is how spicy the samosas were this time around. I could barely eat 1 and no spice level was requested it was just how they came. Other than that I love Aroma and will definitely be back. read more

-4 is my rating, The food was less than average, the service nothing special and when I asked for carries to take left overs, the guy told me it was too much. I did not leave any tips as they do not deserve it. Aroma, there is nothing of Aroma in the restaurant. The server did not know the answers to basic indian questions and need to be asking the cook every single question. I of course will not go back and will not recommend to anyone. read more

I was looking forward to trying the food here, but I left before I had the chance. I was the only person in the restaurant. The server took my drink order and then walked off to tend to a phone order. After he was off the phone I still sat with no drink. The server stayed preoccupied and left me sitting there, so I took my business elsewhere. I had to give a star in order to post this review. Otherwise they wouldn't have gotten one. read more

The food is over priced. They are trying too hard to sell to Americans and over price their Indian food. I am a Punjabi and Indian. Come on. You are not a Michelin Restaurant. The service is horrible and the people are entitled. Get over yourself. You are in USA and you need to provide authentic Indian experience and honor that by being Indian and have an ambiance of the same. read more

We were regulars at Aroma when they were located at their old venue on Foothill Blvd, so it was nice to see them reopen in their present location in the Vanguard center on Mountain Avenue. The present restaurant is divided into a patio area, the main restaurant and a banquet room. The ambience is quietly elegant with its decor of grey and black offerings . The food is excellent as we always remembered it to be, all presented beautifully, and prices are very reasonable. If you love well prepared Indian food, friendly service and a relaxed setting, this is the place! read more

From the moment we walked in we could smell deliciousness. The server was extremely attentive. We ordered an appetizer of Urban Gobi Crunch which was fantastic. Aroma was one of the places that we just happened to stumble across. We were driving looking for a different restaurant and ended up running into aroma and I will tell you that the name of it fits it so well because the aroma of it is what got us out the car and walking into the restaurant. when you first walk It's really clean nice atmosphere Indian music playing. It definitely gives the feel of a bar, but also intimate restaurant. The host offered us buffet, which was a surprise, but also very convenient. I went to the restroom and the restroom was extremely clean smelled nice. My husband and I were the only two in there when we first walked in and into our surprise it filled up really fast everyone going for the buffet, which had several delicious dishes that we have not tried before like the chilli fish, aloo gobi. My favorite was the butter chicken. Until I tried the chilli fish. I consider this a nice surprise. read more

I had their silver cloud which had a mango foam on top. Tasted great, till you mixed it into the drink. The drink was way to smokey. It was so smokey it was almost bitter. I get a little smoke. But it was way too much. Any notes of mango or fruit or sweetness was lost in the smoke. The blue sky looked pretty. But after having a sip of the silver cloud it killed my taste buds. I couldn't taste anything in the blue sky. After our first round of drinks we were done. Had to go home and make myself an extremely sweet drink to get my taste buds back..... its a great concept. The price point is reasonable. 16 dollars for each drink. I do love the decor. But the vibes from the outside is distracting. If your into mezcals and smokey drinks this place is for you. But it unfortunately was not my cup of tea.

The drinks were actually phenomenal. On the pricier end of $22 and up but we're so good. I loved the horror theme play on the cocktail names! The candy man was delicious and my favorite. The Lester drink came in a light bulb with an edible flower and that was definitely an experience! My hubby loved the Samara which was a delicious espresso. I wish I could have tried more cocktails but our timed seating was up (90minutes). Overall, I was a bit worried with all the poor reviews but we had a good time and definitely got you into the spooky season spirit! The staff was also very kind.
