What a cool spot! My partner and I were looking for a good late night spot and Dansungsa checked off all the boxes! It's an unassuming location but once you step through the doors you're met with ambient lighting, wooden table tops and benches. We arrived around 11 and were greeted immediately; sat within 5 mins. Once sat, you scan the menu to order. There's plenty Korean and Asian fusion dishes to choose from. We ordered a number of things and everything was fresh and plentiful. I'll say the standout was the bulgogi and lemon pepper wings. Also, the fries were stellar! Needless to say we'll definitely be back!
Loved! Loved! Loved! First off...the amount of items to choose from is insane! Whatever you order, comes out hot and fresh, that's for sure. Our great waitress was super sweet, but it second one, she acted like she didn't wanna be there, but she didn't ruin a good time, trust me. Service was with and fast, didn't wait long for anything and the bell at your table was super convenient. This is not a quiet place by any means lol, music playing, server bells going off left and right, bright neon lights everywhere, it's definitely a great spot for a Friday or Saturday night get together. Off top, I highly recommend the wings, the lemon pepper was a 10/10, the bulgogi was tender and perfectly sweet and I really liked the seafood pancake. I look forward to going again and trying some new items!
We showed up on a weeknight and to our delight during happy hour. We were seated promptly and our food came as it was prepared. We really enjoyed the art and music inside and the food was delicious!! Such bang for your buck especially during happy hour. They had vegan/vegetarian options and easy parking in the lot. I will be returning!!!
Let's start out with the food: kimchi was bland, even if it was a quick pickle kimchi. (I would know since my wife makes homemade kimchi) The "spicy"chicken had 0 spice at all. The fries were the only thing that had flavor. The steamed egg soup was delicious according to my wife. Service: not real friendly or welcoming (was not busy when we got there at all). The waitress did not bring all my change back when I paid with cash. The ambiance was decent but very dive bar "ish". Not very welcoming to people who aren't familiar with the area. 3/10 don't really recommend.
Overall, the vibe and atmosphere were great, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. However, the food quality didn't meet our expectations. Despite some mixed reviews, we decided to give it a try for ourselves. Unfortunately, the corn cheese lacked the creamy texture we were expecting and tasted more like it came straight from a can. Of course, that's just our personal opinion and others may feel differently. While the service was good, the food fell short for us, and because of that, we likely wouldn't return.
Me and my friends went to DSS and it's a good weekend bite to eat when you want something late in the night. We ordered: - Kimchi Fries - They really load up on the kimchi which is great. You can't really mess up fries. It is a solid choice for when you just something to munch on. - Popcorn chicken - The flavor is good and the potion is huge. It is on the sweeter side, but they paired well with the kimchi on the fries. The kitchen closes at 4 in the morning so it was perfect when we didn't want the night to end. The venue was nice and the servers were quick.
Came back a year later and still just as good in flavor. The Asian salad family size is so good. Service was a bit off or slower from the last time, but that's ok, I'll visit again. Thanks
Been here several times and food is always great, never had a complaint. Decently clean with the vibes its giving. Restrooms are fine. My favorite has to be the grilled pork belly and the cheese rice cakes. Huge portions. Low rating specicially for service my husband got last night. The guy was super friendly and attentive however the girl could literally not care less. We got there around midnight so not even close to closing time. It was not overly busy or crowded but she was .. abrupt. And honestly just left a bad taste for us. She might need a refresher in customer service or just some common basic manners. She dropped food off and only gave us one plate. When we asked for a second plate she said "I gave you two didnt i?" My husband and I said no, its just one plate. She then goes to REACH and TOUCH FOR THE PLATE that's in front of my husband to check to see if its just really one plate. That was rude.. Are yall short on plates that we couldn't ask for another plate or something? Or think we were stealing? I dont understand the thought process of having to physically grab the plate that was already on the table to "check" if it was really just one plate or not. We ordered 3 items off the menu.. what if we wanted separate plates to keep the different items separate? We couldn't ask for more than 2 plates if you initially gave us 2??? Make it make sense.
Had seen some compelling reels for this place and took the opportunity to try it out as we passed thru Dallas. It's located in a small strip center and upon entering it is very dark and more of a dive bar atmosphere. Was a different ordering experience. We orders the Asian salad which was really good and large portion. We also ordered the cheese corn and the spicy garlic chicken. Lived the cheese corn can't go wrong there, but the garlic chicken was mediocre at best. Was an interesting place and maybe more fun if you go to do karaoke or with a large group.
This place is such a vibe! No pretense no frills. Just kpop wood benches and good food. Not to mention friendly prompt service. The menu QR code is at your table. You push the call button whenever you need service. It was happy hour so we ordered a few different things. The soju drinks were strong yet tasty. The food was good but for us the star was the kimchi jijae. We weren't rushed. We drank we ate we sang kpop and had a mini photo shoot in our booth. We will DEFINITELY be back.
I'm so excited to finally have had the chance to stop by this hidden gem! The spot is only open from 5:30 PM to 4 AM, making it a late-night favorite. As soon as you step inside, you can almost feel the stickiness of the floor, and the cleanliness doesn't seem to be top-notch. There's writing on the walls, and even a lantern made of masking tape. It definitely gives off a college bar vibe, but it's a scene I appreciate. Our meals were given family-style, which was perfect for sharing. The portions are generous way more than one person can handle. The food was piping hot and fresh off the stove, with just the right amount of spice. If you're not a fan of heat, definitely order accordingly! The flavors were phenomenal, and we were impressed by how affordable the meal was. We'll definitely be back soon! Here's what we ordered: - Kimchi Chigae ($11.99) - A delicious kimchi soup with pork - Bul Daezi ($14.99) - Super spicy pork
DSS has happy hour from 6-8 PM where specific appetizers and shots are only $5 along with half off entrees and alcohol, which was such a good deal for delicious Korean food. My friends & I got the french fries, corn cheese, LA galbi, seafood pancake, chicken wings, bulgogi quesadillas, & green tea shots. Everything was amazing but my favorite appetizer would be the bulgogi quesadillas. The restaurant itself has a lot of character as there are many signatures and writing from other guests around the restaurant with K-Pop playing as well. It was a great place for my friends to hang out at with an automatic gratuity for our party of 6. The service was okay and we did have to wait a little bit but to be fair there was only one server to our knowledge helping the whole restaurant. There will be a button available for you to press if you need your server.

Me and my boyfriend have been coming here since San Jang down the street closed. This has become our new favorite spot. we love that they have spicy pork! our favorite dish. Happy HOUR 6-9 PM Daily!!!!!!! Dansungsa is my favorite place to spend happy hour! If you want good food and drinks this is the place to be. Staff is super nice (press the button for service.) Environment is comfortable and relaxing. Kitchen is open up until 4 AM on the weekends, and 2 AM on weekdays. So it's a great place for a late night snack. The establishment is in a great location and I wish there were others in the metroplex as I love the fact that they're open so late. Often my friends and I complain that there are no late night restaurants open and this place hit the first time I went. The service was amazing and the food, while expensive, is actually very large in portion. I would describe the entrees being enough to feed at least 3 people in the table and the well worth the price. My only complaint is that it was hot where we sat at which was in the main dining area and the AC could be fixed up. Aside from that, everything was amazing. Korean pub-style, family-style, late night hours, and HAPPY HOUR EVERYDAY! Need I say more? DanSungSa is a classic, with a karaoke location in Carrolton and casual dining spot in Dallas. Both locations are open until 2 AM which makes it the perfect late night food outing with friends. This place had VIBES!!! I loved the K-Pop blasting through this place! Strong hip hop vibes with some Korean flavor! The walls are encouraged to be written on and there were just so much to be seen in every square inch of this place. There food was good, although I was a little sad because I was expecting Korean BBQ, but I don't think this place does the BBQ portion. We still got some good food though! I can't even remember everything I got, but I know I enjoyed it all even for being a picky eater. We got some chicken that was really good, beef bulgogi, a seafood pancake, potstickers and noodles and the only thing I was iffy about was the pancake. It was okay, but like I said, I'm picky so it was just a little out of my norm. Open late at night and reliable. I ordered the steamed egg (overpriced, but cooked well) and spicy octopus (highlyyy recommend, chewy, good spice levels, and huge portions). First time eating here. The vibes are nice and the service was decent. It took a bit to long for the server to take our order but once the food was served it was a large amount of food which is always a plus. The spicy pork bugolgi had great flavor but the chicken fried rice had to much of what we though was sesame seed oil. Unfortunately one of our orders took about 30 minutes to arrive at our table and when we asked the server if it'd be out anytime soon he seemed upset and just told us that they were busy and couldn't tell us how much longer we'd have to wait for our food. Eventually another server noticed asked us if we had received our order which we still hadn't received and had to wait another 10 minutes on top of that for an order of ramen. Waited a total of about 40 minutes for ramen. Will more than likely not be returning. read more

mmmmmm mmmm mmmm i love this place. The food here in incredible. late night hours make this place an EASY choice when we are hungry. We are ppl that eat super late and this place hits the spot. everything we have had here has been very generously portioned and tasty. I've never had a bad dish here. try everything. EVerything is good. Such a cute cute Korean pub. This spot would be great to go with friends if you are trying to have a good time and drink. The food is mediocre. Not bad but not amazing either. Kimchi fries, I would ask for the ketchup to be on the side. I think too much was drizzled on top. We also ordered the chicken stir fry rice cake with cheese. WARNING THIS DISH IS HUGE! Will feed at least 5 people in my opinion! And then we ordered the salad with the house asian dressing. This was my favorite in my opinion lol go to a pub to order salad. Great spot for happy hour meal deals! The drinks options are so so. But they got some dishes for about $5 each. And la galbi for half off. It doesn't come with rice and I asked for some bonchan. I liked the seafood pancake, but my bf didn't like it that much. A bit fishy. The disappointment was the Bulgogi quesadilla. It was so lacking , thin and flavorless. It came with ranch and sriracha dip. Not a reorder. But def would come back here for a quick dinner! We still want to try a couple of diff dishes. The menu they have are the QR codes. One for the happy hour menu. And another for the regular menu. I tried looking at the regular menu, but it's a link to their Uber eats. And I didn't want to scroll one by one item to see what's on the dinner menu. So I gave up. Idk why there's not a regular pdf file for the regular menu. read more

If the outside of a strip club and the inside of an LA Fitness sauna had a baby while a K-pop band was playing on the radio. That's the vibe Service was good. Only 1 server so he was busy but I don't mind conversation while dinning in. The dumplings= 4/5. I never get tired of going here. They offer a variety of options, open late, and it's never that packed unless you go to the carrolton location. I love going here after a night of drinking or just for a wholesome meal. Their black bean noodles were pretty good as well as their pork belly wraps. I have nothing to complain about. This place is one of those hole in the wall places that needs more recognition!! We got there around 10pm and was seated immediately! They have a "doorbell" at your table so you can call for the waiters when you're ready - so cool because they don't have to wait around on your order until you're actually ready! one of my favorite places in dfw ive been here a handful of times and every time is better and better! my favorite item on the menu is the cheese Kimchi Fried Rice with the egg scrambled inside - its spicy but sooooo worth it! the kimchi they use is one of the best ive had, i always get a side to enjoy with my food. plus them bringing the water pitcher to the table and signaling the waiter with a button makes dining super chill! great prices for the portions and quality of food, im planning on the using the half i have left over to cure whatever i wake up with on 01/01/2024 will be back with friends very soon so we can order a few plates to share read more

From the outside I had absolutely no idea what to expect from this place. I was pleasantly surprised! If you are looking for a new experience, this is a great place to try! The service was good. We went with a party of 10 and our server was quick and on top of things! Tons of drink and food options. Our food was super tasty and surprisingly high end. Vegetarian options with Tofu!
