I've been coming here pretty regularly for years so I feel like I've had enough visits to say that when we came for dinner last week, the whole place was off. It had been a few months since our last visit, but from the moment we walked in, almost everything was different: The vibe is no longer cozy; the booths and semi-private rooms are gone, replaced with tables; the wait-staff (I didn't recognize a single server) has completely changed, and most importantly, the food, was totally off. My favorite spicy squid was overcooked (it was like trying to chew through rubber bands) and lacking in sauce; the banchan flavors were flat (not a hint of sesame oil on the bean sprouts), the seafood pancake was VERY greasy and lacking in seafood. It just wasn't at all what I've come to love, which makes me sad. I asked whether the owners and/or kitchen staff had changed, but was assured it was the same, and that the servers all left to work at another place, also the same owners, down the street? If in fact the owners are the same, that's a complete shock because it feels like an entirely new place, and not in the best way. :( read more

This is the fam's go to Korean BBQ place as we don't really do buffets. My favorite is their bibimbap. Staff giveaways complimentary mugi ( barley) tea. Appetizers keep changing but they are usually healthy. Lunch time is usually busy. Servers are friendly. read more

Always a hit when craving Korean food! Not only does this place have great Korean BBQ, but their lunch menu has a lot of variety. Every dish including the side dishes are very fresh. The portions are VERY generous and you will probably box leftovers. The ladies here are always kind and consistently checks on your table. Everything was spot on! This place shines in that it feels like a home cooked meal, and the ladies there are so caring and attentive. It's pretty spacious. The portions of food were big, and the banchan were good. We had the spicy pancake, kimchi jigae, and octopus bibimbap. The bibimbap was my favorite dish; I don't think other restaurants had as much octopus as this dish. My husband drove right past it following the gps because it was literally tucked in the corner behind a tiny gas station and 7-eleven. The cutest ajoomas work at this place! They are super friendly and love kids. They all came to have a convo with my 4 year old. They grill all your meat and change the grill frequently without you asking. We got the Dallas combo and all cuts of meat were delicious. The marinated short rib meat was the best one. I loved the kimchi and all the banchan. Even their salad was delicious. They are nonstop coming to check on you to make sure everything is ok. I really enjoyed our meal here today and charcoal grill makes all the difference. read more

Came here because I saw TikTok that they had grilled eel on a charcoal grill and it did not disappoint. I've never had eel this way before and it was absolutely delicious and smokey. The MKT price when I went was about $76? Per order and it fed two people pretty well (we also had a small side of naengmyeon, which was also so refreshing) I came for a second time in the same week to try the Gopchang Jeongol. The broth was rich and flavorful and the Gopchang was perfectly cooked. We ordered the Kimchi Jeon and Mandu as our appetizers, both were good. I wish the Kimchi Jeon was a little crisper but that's my preference. Service was soooo good, everyone who helped us and took our orders were so nice and quick! Would come again! It was my first time eating kbbq in Texas and coming from California where we have a huge korean population, the prices were similar to California but the portions were way bigger. I went here by myself, service was fast, and the food quality was 10/10 I spent about ~$100 for a total of 4 dishes (I ordered 2 for togo). Solid Korean food and great pricing. I was traveling to Dallas for work and was craving KBBQ and they had the perfect combo of spicy cold noodles with galbi for $29.99, the serving was enough to feed two. I was suppose to bring it back home and was very upset when I realized I forgot it at the hotel lobby. This spot is very local and filled with many Koreans getting their KBBQ fix! read more

I had a long drive back from ATL and I wanted to treat myself to a good dinner. I was craving bossam with oyster kimchi so I looked all over Yelp and found that Seoul Garden offers some oyster bossams! I called immediately and ordered to-go, and the oyster bossams were $39.99. It sounded like it was a serving for 2 so I knew there would be leftovers. When I arrived, the server cashed me out pretty quickly and she gave me a huge box with all the food. At first, I was like "is this really for two people?" but that lert me only more excited. I got home and opened the box -- the order came with plenty of meat, salted cabbage, dwenjang, shrimp sauce, two bowls of rice, oyster kimchi and asosoeted banchans. The portions were plentiful to say the least! I took a bite of the meat and it was very well cooked! The bossam tasted just like how my mom makes it and the skin part was extremely chewy, and it was just something you wanted to make a ssam out of. I then wrapped it with the salted cabbage and a piece of raw oyster and some daikon kimchi. Absolutely amazing! The oysters were pretty fresh ahd the chemistry of the wrap was insane. I will say though -- the salted cabbage is PRETTY salty - I usually don't eat rice with my food but my hands were going for the rice as I had to calm my salted palate down. I was so shocked at how many oysters they give.. We all know that oysters are not cheap but there was actually eo many oysters... It really was a pleasant delight! The banchans they gave were also pretty good. I got broccoli, cucumber kimchi, braised potatoes, kimchi and fish cake stir fry. All great accompaniments. Overall -- I was so pleased with the value of this place. If you look at the photo, the aesthetic of the oyster daikon kimchi may be a little questionable but the taste is absolutely amazing. It is a lot of food for $40 and it looks like this place is one of the OG Korean restaurants in Dallas. I would love to come back to dine in here and I already know what I'm gonna order. Low key on the outside - something I'd imagine you'd miss if you weren't deliberately looking for this restaurant! The parking lot is not the most accommodating and in fact you'd have to fight for spots with the neighboring 7/11, but for what's inside - it's totally worth it! The menu is comprehensive Korean and every dish has huge portions with even bigger flavor! I loved the seafood pancake, cooked to crispy perfection and loaded with mini-squids and shrimps. I always order galbi, and they really do it right here - nice big cuts of very well marinated short-rib served on a sizzling platter. Price is super affordable. My sister and I wanted some Korean bbq and we specifically wanted to go to a place that uses charcoal. We tried to go to Koryo but after two unsuccessful attempts, we decided to try Seoul Garden. I called before going just to make sure we wouldn't drive all the way for nothing. The lady who answered the phone was going to get me someone else when I first spoke in English but I switched to Korean and asked if they're busy. She seemed confused but then asked how many we were. When I told her 2, she warmly told me to come. By the time we arrived, it was close to 9pm. We were promptly seated in a booth, and shortly after, someone poked her head in while walking by and asked if we were the ones who called. We still had our masks on at this point and she asked us if we were twins (my mom later joked that it's because we both got out eyebrows done at the same place). She would check in on us frequently and be super sweet the whole time. We ordered the Suwon Galbi and Pork Jowl (Hang Jung Sal). The charcoal was brought to our table, as was the banchan, then the meat. They do use a pan that covers most of the charcoal underneath, so I didn't taste a huge difference from using charcoal vs. another source of heat, but my sister and I both noticed that the meat cooked super fast, which was great since we were hungry. The Suwon Galbi was nice, with a very light marinade, and we thought the portion for the pork jowl was very large. I'm not sure if they gave us extra since we were seemingly the last table of the night and they were being nice, or if that's the normal portion, but it felt like it was twice the amount you get at Ari in Carrollton. Everything was fresh and the meat was really good quality. I think I read some people complain about the jjigae and the steamed egg but they were both fine in our case. The jjigae wasn't like amazing but it was decent and did its job for the meal, and the egg was delicious. I will say that there was a slight smoky taste in the egg but I didn't think this was a bad thing at all. We left feeling suuuuper full. I couldn't even finish the meat on the bone from the Suwon Galbi. All in all, I would return, but not necessarily because they use charcoal. After watching so many kdramas, I wanted the experience of K-BBQ so we drove to Dallas to try this place out. The place was surprisingly packed on a Tuesday night but we were quickly seated in a private room. The service was A+. Since I have a food restriction, we couldn't get any of the combos so the server provided recommendations so we could have the best experience. She was also nice enough to give us the egg soufflé and tofu and soybean stew that came with the combos. We ordered the steak and Bulgogi, and were taught how to cook it ourselves and use the scissors to cut the meet into bite size pieces. I wish we were allowed to order a single meat (instead of the required two needed to use the grill oneself) because it was soooooooo much food - it comes with rice, side dishes, salad and dipping sauces. We should have invited others to make it more cost effective. Our bill was ~$100 after ordering the meats and a pancake (which we would have skipped if we knew how much food it was going to be). Located in the "old Korea town" off Royal/35. This spot has a somewhat small parking lot that's shares a space with 7-11. Seems odd, but the food makes up for it! They remodeled the interior within the last couple of years as well. It's close to home and never really a wait! The galbi here is sooooo good and flavorful (my favorite cut of beef). We often order table side rather than grilling, but definitely recommend either one! Octopus hot stone bibimbap- they also have a beef galbi version which is just as tasty! I love these hot stone rice dishes because the rice actually gets CRISPY from the heat of the stone. The crispy texture against the soft rice and flavorful mix of protein/vegetables is so yummy! Another item we always order is the pork kimchi jigae, which is a soup make from.. you guessed it, kimchi hahah. I like that it comes with tofu and rice cakes!! read more

Coming from LA & as an ultimate kbbq lover, I enjoyed this spot! The 2 of us shared a Combo A, which actually feeds 3 people but we are big eaters so this was no problem for us. To start off, they give so much banchan! I'm a big fan of banchan so this was a pleasant surprise. Especially loved the seasoned anchovies since we rarely find that served at a kbbq spot. Meat quality was nice & the marinated meats were definitely the star of the meal. Although, the marinated meats came to our table first and we ended up having to eat all the non-marinated meats at the end. Would request asking for the other way around next time! Service was also very kind, the waitress started cooking our meats for us until I kindly told her we can cook ourselves so we could control the done-ness. Combo A also came with steak tartare & I happily devoured this. Overall, such a treat! The portions, quality, and service was such a good value for the price. I made a reservation for a party of 7 over the phone. As soon as we arrived we were seated and they actually gave us a room which was nice and gave us a lot of privacy. The tables were all set and ready for us with side dishes and drinks already set up. BUT as soon as they found out that we weren't planning on ordering meat dishes our server wasn't as friendly but a little bit annoyed. When we ask for refills for some of the side dishes she snarky would say I don't think we have any of those dishes but let me check the kitchen and she would never come back. (And mind you we are native speaker so don't think that Korean speaker get better service than non Korean speakers!) But I still want to give them 4 stars just because the food was so good! All the side dishes I tried were fresh and so well seasoned! The mackerel that I ordered was perfectly grilled and the portion was very generous. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. The lack of service didn't bother us too much as we were happy with our seating and food we got to enjoy! Just FYI parking is very tight here and not everyone are great in parking here. The best beef I've had that's cooked over charcoal was at Seoul Garden. But when I went to eat meat after a long time, I was very disappointed. It seemed like the quality of the meat had dropped compared to before, and the server was very unfriendly. The server grilled the meat too much and it was totally burnt, so I requested them to cook it slowly, but while serving, she was very rude, as if she was bothered. Expressing irritation at the customer's requests, I couldn't understand why she was working in the service industry if she was going to show such annoyance. It was supposed to be a happy occasion to celebrate with friends, but I was very disappointed because of the unfriendliness and the lower quality of the meat compared to before. read more

A super delicious, hole in the wall (eh mostly from the outside) Korean restaurant!!! My significant other loves this place and especially their C4: Maeun Galbi Jjim/the traditional Korean beef stew. It's a bit pricey ($35), but the serving is humongous!!! It's enough to feed 3-4 people. We haven't been able to find this dish anywhere else. The outside is not much to look at, and the parking lot is very limited as well. However, once you walk inside, it's like day and night. It's really spacious, clean, and even nicer than most other Korean restaurants. I love their banchan options. Regardless what you order, they give plenty of banchan, at least 9 different ones. They're all really good too. Their kimchi soup and stir fried squid are some of the best we have had. The portion is plenty for the price as well. It would be perfect if they stayed open later, but for now, we'll just enjoy them for regular dinner, and save the late late night supper for another place lol. read more

Inside seating - 5/5 Little private booths if you're doing barbeque. Roomy enough for a group but cozy enough to feel like you're in your own separate world. Combo B - Pork Jowl, Pork Belly, Beef Belly and Beef Brisket - 4/5 Fatty and delicious, but not exactly health food. Definitely had to slow down and spend some time with the side-dishes to get through this one. This combo would have benefitted from replacing one of the fattier cuts with something leaner. Banchan - 4/5 Solid banchan game, with plenty of options, but none of them are individually too incredible. Steamed Egg - 1/5 Regrettably not tasty. We took a few bites and did not want more. Too bad, as we usually love steamed egg. Doenjangjigae (Soybean paste soup) - 1/5 A dish we normally enjoy eating, and even make at home, but I just can't recommend theirs. read more

Unethical Business - After few days I visited this place, I noticed that charged amount on my credit card statement was different than actual amount. I found out that store employee (s) added extra amount on tip (illegally). Total amount clearly was written on receipt, but he or she still did it. There were 4 other customers with same trouble. I let the store management know. Management promised to investigate, correct the wrongdoing, and issue refund. Waited 3 weeks, nothing happened. Now, I'm letting everyone know so customers visiting this place won't fraudulent charge victim. Make sure to scratch off blank field, and keep you copy. Who knew that Dallas had such a booming Korean town. There were tons of Korean restaurants to choose from but we chose Seoul Garden for the reviews we saw on Yelp. The restaurant itself is pretty no frills with options for grill tables or regular tables to order from the kitchen. We decided to order from the kitchen. They had a ton of banchan. Lots of tasty vegetables and dishes. The portions for the food were large and tasty. I enjoyed the tofu stew and the mandu. Seoul Garden was absolutely fantastic in everything, the servers when seating us told us it may be a wait since they were busy. The wait wasn't too long but we appreciated the heads up. We came for lunch on a Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised that their lunch menu still came with all the banchans (side dishes) and Korean miso soup! Just the banchans, soup and rice would be a satisfying meal but the tofu jiggae I ordered was well worth the overstuffed belly afterwards. This was a seafood stew and for just $10 you get large shrimp, squid, clams and mussels in a delicious broth. I like how fresh everything tasted at such an affordable price. In May of 2021, there was a $3 price hike on their meals. Somewhere around 2 years ago or sooner - Galbi Gui lunch special was either $11.99 or $12.99 (I forget which) and today it's priced at $17.99 after the May 21' hike from $14.99. That's ~ a 40-50% increase on this particular dish. Assuming there's 8 ounces of meat in the dish, let's say the increased cost is $2 assuming beef has gone up $4/lb to the restaurant. Yes - I totally agree - you pass that cost directly on to the consumer. What I don't agree with is jacking the price up $6 when that's not reflective of the flux in ingredient costs. I've been coming here for 30+ years and while I appreciate the new ownership, I don't agree with their price increases to this level. read more
