Yall, the power of social media!!! I had seen reels about this place, was in the general area and had time to pass so I decided to go check it out. Now this ain't no fancy spot and the menu isn't extensive. It's simple, but sometimes simple is best and this is one of those times. I was greeted when I walked in, I didn't feel pressured while trying to decide what I wanted to order, suggestions were made, I had questions and answers were given. I decided on the traditional mandu (fried) and the kalbi (which he recommended steamed since I was already getting something fried). I took a seat and shortly he came rolling my food over to my table. I've been eating mandu for YEARS and these were some of the best! These dumplings are stuffed and packed with flavor. I was surprised to see the jopcahe in the kalbi dumpling as I love it, it came with a dish of soy sauce to dip (I wanted to ask for some goguchang for some heat but decided I would add it when I got home as there was no way I was eating all of them). I can tell you that the food was fresh (I watched the man making my dumplings), the customer service was great, and the food was delicious! And the people walking in after me, all kept mentioning that they too were there after seeing a reel. So do yourself a favor and go try this man's mandu! read more

This dumpling place got popular on social media, so we decided to try it. We got the Kimchi Mandu and Snowflake Mandu. The kimchi mandu had kimchi, pork, tofu, and vegetables in it. It had good flavor but the dumplings were cold when it came out. The snowflake mandu was good and crispy, the filling was stuffed and we prefer this one over the kimchi one. The prices were pretty expensive in my opinion but the food is quite filling, so it makes sense. The service was okay. You should try out the place and maybe try the Kalbi mandu! read more

I saw this restaurant on TikTok and just happened to be visiting Dallas from Los Angeles. It was super convenient -- I stopped by right after picking up my rental, and it's not far from Dallas Love Field Airport, which made it the perfect first food stop in town. I ordered a couple of items to-go. There was a little bit of a wait, but trust me -- it was absolutely worth it. I couldn't even wait until I got to my destination. I tried one in the car and it was so good I literally couldn't stop eating until it was gone. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. My IG stories led me here, and I'm glad because this place is a hidden gem. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Hong Dumpling House is in an office park. The good news is there's plenty of parking. But it's obviously is a converted space. There are plenty of tables and seating, but the space itself is quite forgettable. 1/2 Star. Service - On my Thursday night visit, only the owner was working. He asked us to take a seat and would later bring out the food on a cart. He was short staffed and started making our order before I paid (which I did upon completing my meal). The man was sweet and could not have been nicer. 1 Star. Food - We ordered the Pork Mandu, Kimchi Mandu, and Galbi Mandu. Quick note: we ordered these items because tha was what was available. To start, the dumplings were immaculately formed. I tried to take a close up photo to show details. Each of our Mandu orders were steamed, and the outershell was soft while the inside was plump and juicy. I preferred the Galbo Mandu. The only downside is I wanted to order the squid but he did not have any left. 1 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Driving across the country and had to stop here on the way. Sam brought me here! There was a sign on the door that said out of dumplings so I went inside just to use the restroom. The owner however said that he's got more dumplings for me. I know he had to use tomorrow's dumplings for me so I was very grateful. The owner was extremely nice and the food was delicious. There was another guy there who heard me say I drove all the way from South Carolina and he said he drove from Oregon. He offered me a piece of Kimchi Mandu and it was delicious! I already felt like the owner went out of his way to accommodate me already so I didn't want to ask for more dumplings. Overall great experience! After seeing this place on Instagram, wanted to check out what the hype is all about. The restaurant was pretty easy to find located on a business strip building that is almost deserted. I did happen to get there early before their open time at 11a and the sign was lit up said Open and the front door propped open. Walked in there was a lady mopping no one there. Walked up to the front and was greeted by the man who we see on instagram. Funny friendly korean guy who is maybe the owner. Decided to try the pork dumplings steamed, galbi dumplings fried, and kimchi dumplings steamed. He said they are out of kimchi and was disappointed in that since my moms fav was kimchi dumplings. When I found about the kimchi dumplings being out he wanted me to order the spicy squid dumplings. Said is was really good and that I would like it. I was hesitant to order it and I said sure just 1 order of that. Also, since I wanted to just order 1, he wanted me to order 2 orders instead. Kind of pressuring me. Not sure about that kind of behavior. So I ended up paying like around $78 worth of dumplings seem really high priced. The size of these we kind of tiny. Except for the galbi dumplings. So I waited a good while since they have to make the dumplings fresh. Opened the boxes and some of the soy sauce dipping sauce leaked out of the mini container and spilled out and coated the bottom of the dumplings. Not good. The pork steamed dumplings were probably the best one. The galbi fried was extremely salty! The spicy squid however I was expecting the large outer squid dumplings with red sauce like on the menu but ended up a spicy squid steamed dumpling style. It was spicy for my taste. Had bits of squid in it. It was just ok for me. Overall not sure if I will come back. If I do then its just the steamed pork dumplings for me. read more

I got the snowflake mandu and it was so good. It comes in 6 pieces and each dumpling is stuffed with delicious pork filling and it's steamed, but all the pieces are fried together like a pancake and it's super thin and flakey. Dumplings are handmade and I scarfed it down in minutes. It's not salty and the dumpling skin is chewy and soft. The owners are super nice and welcoming. Highly recommend! read more

Kimchi Mandu, Kalbi Mandu Not bad at all! Decently yummy mandus, definitely liked the kalbi ones the best! I love the shapes and the knead on these--they're so pretty!! The sauce was not what I was used to, so I subbed it with the dumpling sauce I use at home. Service 10/10 We ordered 3 mandu: shrimp, kalbi & squid. We were told straight up the squid would take 30 minutes but we had time to kill and the other 2 came out first. I appreciate the friendly nature of the staff too. Food 10/10 Hubby's favorite was the shrimp mandu and mine was the kalbi mandu but the star that sealed the deal was the squid mandu. Really enjoyed it. My wife found a list of the top 10 Dumpling restaurants in the DFW area. We were dropping someone off at Dallas Love Field and decided to try nearby Hong Dumpling House. The gentleman the took our order at the counter was very pleasant and helped us choose. Their menu is small. We decided to try 3 different sets of dumplings. Each set came with 6 dumplings. We had: - Mandu (original): Filled with ground pork and vegetables - Shrimp Mandu: Filled with shrimp, ground pork and vegetables - Kalbi Mandu: Filled with marinated ground beef and vegetables We were told the order would take about 10 minutes and it was pretty spot on. In the mean time, we helped ourselves to some plastic flatware, napkins and chopsticks. We also grabbed a couple of drinks from the self-serve cooler. Our meal arrived. In addition to the dumplings, we were each served a small dish of their special soy sauce. We both ate 1 each of all 3 sets of dumplings. Honestly, they were all real tasty and we couldn't really pick a favorite. The gentleman at the counter took my payment after confirming what we had ordered and what drinks we took. I asked for a box and he gave me a large clamshell take out container lined with a piece of parchment paper and a small container of the soy sauce. 5 stars for the staff, but just 3 for the dumplings. Perhaps we are more accustomed to Chinese dumplings rather than Korean, but something about the texture and flavor profiles just seemed off.
