So tender and great flavor, pulled pork moist and tasty and the tri-tip was good but also the reason for not giving this five stars. Had a weird spice I wasn't too fond of and sliced too thin for a plate serving. Think it would've been better in a sandwich. Don't get me wrong it was still good. Sides were good too but the bbq sauce was a dream of yumminess. Already planning my return trip and next time we are doing the burgers. Saw someone eating one and it looked amazing. I was in the mood for some nice, smokey barbecue, and a friend recommended Dan's to me. I also think they did so because my name is Dan. I just wanted the meat itself, and I sprung for a full tray of tri-tip, thinking it'd last me for at least a few days. It was hot, juicy, thinly sliced, tender, lightly drizzled with sauce, and even though I wish it was a bit smokier, it was still delicious. And I was right about it lasting for a while, I was working on it slowly for a full week. This place just overall feels like good vibes to me. I was at a job site in the area and my coworkers mentioned another BBQ place. Since the job ran a little late, I found Dan's BBQ was a mile away and decided to check it out. It's at the end of an older strip mall - can't miss it. I loved how they set up a kiosk to order food and pick up on the side - creative! Also, Dan is very helpful in deciding what to order. Since I always share my BBQ at home, I ended up with the sampler platter (ribs, brisket, pulled pork, cole slaw, chili beans and Texas Toast). I added Mac & Cheese because I wanted to eat something before I drove home. The mac & cheese was filling and has bacon bits on top. When I got home, I had a little bit of everything. Out of the meats, the pulled pork was my favorite. The chili beans have a mild kick to them, but out of the sides, the cole slaw was my favorite. There was way more than enough portions that I was able to have this for stretch this out a day or two. When I was leaving, I saw they also server burgers, fries and shakes. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely have to try it out. read more

We had the hot links, ribs, brisket, Mac and cheese, and chili cheese fries. The Mac and cheese was really nice- it always bugs me when Mac and cheese is bland or too soggy, this one was just right. The chili cheese fries were indulgent and tasty. All the barbecue was nicely done as well. The only drinks they have are for purchase, even water, so be prepared if you plan on eating there. read more

I'm raising my review to 3 but would not buy the barbeque again. I didn't try the omg burger again but remember it was great. My husband liked the beans, but they were just ranch beans loaded with heat... Not sure if it's Tabasco, not sauce or what but it really needs some brown sugar and maybe a touch of mustard. Their hours vary, sometimes closing out of the blue for parties or unknown reasons, but the cashier is very nice. I'll probably go back somewhere else for barbeque in the future, but I will go back here for that omg burger hoping it's good like it was 2 years ago. If you're looking for smokey flavored bbq meat, this is not your place. The ribs were dry and had no flavor except for the bbq sauce they drenched it in. The brisket looked and tasted like it came out of the oven, with no flavor except for the bbq sauce drenched all over it. The price paid made it taste even worst. While visiting family we were in Modesto and wanted to try food fix but they were closed, went to yelp and found this place nearby. What a gem of a score this place was amazing! When you drive-in it's in an older area of town, there's a no brand gas station on the corner and across the street are trailers, the strip mall itself is old, not quaint just old. We drove up and there weren't any cars in the parking lot, I decided to go ahead and take a look inside and I'm so glad I did. The place is modern and fun but the real standout is the food. Dan himself greets you at the counter and will give you suggestions on what to order from the menu. For barbecue the food is very reasonable and I was surprised at the large portions. The hubs and I shared a sampler platter with brisket tri tip and ribs with a side of coleslaw and beans cooked with pulled pork and had food left over. Surprisingly, the real standout was the coleslaw which was fresh and crunchy! I should've taken some to go! Since they had a burger menu we went ahead and tried a Burger as well and the flavor was really good. They use good quality meat and the flavors are perfect not too salty or sweet. Their Barbecue sauce had the right amount of kick to it to make it fun. We will definitely be going back! read more
