Unsanitary and Disappointing…read more Absolutely terrible experience. The pizza was extremely oily and greasy, to the point where it was barely enjoyable. What really crossed the line, though, was when the clerk attempted to give me a used pizza pan that another customer had just returned to put my pizza on. That is completely unsanitary and unacceptable for any establishment serving food. After seeing that, I seriously question the cleanliness and food-handling practices here. I definitely will not be returning. Avoid this place.

I only didn't give them a 5 because there were some communication difficulties between us to the cashier and the cashier to the cook so one of our pizzas wasn't made. We waited for them to make it and then we weren't sure if we paid for it already or not, and the one guy said we hadn't but the one that rung us up had left. Our receipt was only the cash total amount for some reason and no items were listed. I think this place could really become something if they got the communication fixed. They could put ipads up front for people to order from or get someone to run the front area because these guys can cook some pizza!!!!!

I love that they offer the calamari in both fried and grilled. I was outvoted on the grilled but I have to say that the squid was perfectly cooked. Not chewy or fishy at all. Very tender. The breading was light and not greasy at all. The bacon wrapped shrimp were interesting. The shrimp were huge. They were drenched in BBQ sauce. I thought it was ok but I'm not sure about the flavor combo. We ordered a large plain and a large pepperoni. I thought the plain was delicious. The dough was good and not too much flop. The sauce was a bit sweet, which I like. The only issue is that the cheese and sauce didn't stick to the dough so it slid off while cutting. Overall, I think they did a great job with a large group during weekday lunch.

Plenty of variety on the menu which includes the pictured homemade pies, cakes and homemade ice cream. Cash only. But we are only here for the Reuben. Offered in only the corned beef and turkey varieties of Reuben, this sandwich differs from all others insofar as its dressing is not the traditional Thousand Island, it uniquely uses a chipotle mayo instead. Waiter Anthony gave great service. The chipotle mayo was a welcome change from typical sweetness. It added a little picante spicy heat --but not too much at all. I usually rate the meat on the thickness or thinness of the slices but that doesn't apply here. The corned beef on the sandwich comes in chunks! They pull it rather than slice it. This place makes its own corned beef on premises and roasts the turkey here as well. The thick sliced toasted rye from Italian People's Bakery was just right and the Swiss and sauerkraut made the grade. Comes with fries and pickle slices. Outside dining and outside ice cream enjoyment are available. Pies, cakes and ice cream are homemade on premises. Find it on the roadside of Route 29 near Washington's Crossing along the Delaware River in Titusville. I tried the Pecan Pie à la mode with Peach ice cream and was super pleased with it. My concern was not the preparation style but the overall value. Served on approximately a 12-inch roll and priced at about $17 with a side of chips, the sandwich seemed surprisingly light on meat and fillings. It also appeared to be missing the peppers I expected and had to request them separately. Overall, it simply did not feel like a $17 sandwich. What troubled me more, however, was what I observed regarding cash handling. During a busy lunch period, what appeared to be the owner removed a substantial amount of cash from the register and counted it in full view of customers. While there is certainly nothing wrong with handling a business's receipts, it struck me as somewhat unprofessional to do so in the middle of a crowded lunch rush. More importantly, after handling the cash, I observed him return to handling glassware without any obvious hand-washing. Because this is a cash-only business, I also observed servers collecting cash, entering transactions into the register, making change, and then returning to food service. I did not observe any hand-washing between those activities.

Their fried Oreos are delicious and the burgers are decent as well. They have some of the cheapest prices in town. It is a small establishment with only four booths, that are usually empty since locals don't dine in.

The sauce was a little sweet but good, and the cheese was good as well and just the right amount. The crust was decent too with a bit of crunch on the bottom. This area is inundated with pizzerias and I'm slowly working my way through them all. I would rate Red Star somewhere in the middle of my pie rating list.
