    bean paste soup
    Kylie S.

This place was great. I ordered the bean paste soup, it was so flavorful. The Korean pancake was amazing. My friends had the chicken soup, also delicious. The service was really friendly and they were fine with splitting the check for four, always a bonus. They are in the same shopping center as SpaWorld, you should definitely come here after a trip there.

Food was decent here. Good ambiance. Service was good. I'm not dying to go back here. Wish the food was flavored a little better.

This place is one of the few that really offers authentic Korean food. Easily recognized them as a sister restaurant of Tosokjip, which I really love. I always get the seafood pancake and braised mackerel. Perfect with a side of soju! Servers are friendly, and the restaurant is very spacious. Can offer group seating.

The restaurant is very cozy and service was amazing! We were seated and serviced immediately. I got a simple spicy beef soup- serving size is more than enough. The broth was delicious, generous amount of meat and veggies too. Definitely will go back, im surprised this place isnt more busy

    Grilled mackerel and doenjang jjigae
    Saki R.

This is my go-to spot whenever I'm craving mackerel! Their grilled mackerel and doenjang jjigae combo is my absolute favorite. The mackerel is perfectly grilled, very juicy and never dry. The doenjang jjigae is equally impressive, with just the right level of spice to complement the rich, savory broth. Service here is always quick and efficient, and the staff are consistently polite and attentive.

If you ever been to ToSokJip in Annandale, this place is their "second location". It's a small restaurant inside but luckily it was not busy when I went. It started to pick up for the dinner rush though. I got the braised mackerel, and it was SO delicious. One of the best things I have. Only because I love fish and I love the sauce/broth they made for the dish. They must've use gochujang for the sauce. The fish was so amazing. And the portion size was meant for 2 people but we still couldn't finish it. It was so great. Highly recommend!

This Korean restaurant in Old Centreville Crossing, Centreville, offers an impressive array of authentic Korean dishes. The ambiance is clean, and the service is consistently good. We enjoyed trying their Samgye-tang (chicken soup with rice and ginseng), which was delicious. Due to the windy and chill weather, we decided to try braised skatefish in the spicy stew. It was delicious --perfectly hot and bursting with flavor, the fish was soft, and the radish blocks were soft and savory in the delightful broth. The spicy squid was equally fantastic, stir-fried with vegetables and finished with a chilly-based sauce; every dish paired perfectly with a bowl of rice. This place is worth a visit!

To Sok Jip in Annandale was our go-to spot for dank Bossam but unfortunately when their restaurant closed due to a fire we searched for another reliable spot. Danji was recommended from multiple people and the Bossam lived up to the hype, it was a huge serving, tender, and flavorful! The grill mackerel was good as well, crispy and salty. The banchan options were diverse and fresh, definitely refilled on most of ours. Service is on par with most Korean restaurants.

So delicious. Felt like I was transported to a restaurant in Korea with Banchan that is more rare in the States. The bossom was amazing so flavorful and refreshing. Seafood pancake was perfectly cooked as well.

This place has good tasty food served fresh and hot. Side dishes are tasty and are refilled for free. Typical Korean style. The Yu Ge Jang soup was full of meat and broth was good. I was craving Sam Ge Tang for a month or more and it was good. The chicken was meaty and the broth was good and very satisfying. BUT. The orders are expensive. There are posters from 2019 calling it cheap eats. Not now. But if you don't care about the price and want tasty food then this is a good place to

Seemed like a legit Korean spot because most of the patrons were middle aged eating here on a Sunday. I had a decent experience here, ordered a jjigae and others ordered the ginseng chicken soup and the mackarel casserole. The ginseng chicken soup was simple and light, but not much ginseng flavor. I would probably skip this dish if you want more ginseng herbally flavors. The jjigae was flavorful but had some interesting things like zucchini and potato in there. The mackarel was the highlight imo. It was flavorful and not too salty and the fish was soft. I barely got any bones, a plus! And finally the banchans were all good. Especially the bean sprout and I don't even like bean sprouts. The tea was also a nice Barley tea flavor. Overall a great time!

This is how it came with delivery...Looks like they recycle the rice. It is yellowish. I throw it away!

The menu was extensive, filled with lots of homey options that I don't usually see in other restaurants. After ordering, we were served six different banchans, all of which were incredibly homey -- light and not too savory. My favorites were the acorn jelly (which was mixed with salted seaweed and sesame seeds) and the white kimchi. Honestly, all six were really solid. AL TANG - 19.99 Super savory with lots of "sea sweetness" and umami, this stew was rich and piping hot upon arrival. I've never had al tang before, but have heard great things about it. Unfortunately, I didn't love the texture of fish roe (kind of reminded me of the texture of cooked chicken lungs). By the end of the stew, I thought it was too salty, so I didn't end up finishing it. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but I probably won't get it again. My friend got the mackerel which he loved. I'll look forward to other items on the menu next time.

As a regular, here are a few tips: the $10 lunch menu is dine-in only--you can't order it to-go, and takeout has to be at dinner pricing (a bit unfortunate). Also, except for the seolleongtang, most dishes are pre-cooked and reheated, so I recommend asking them to make it piping hot; otherwise, some parts might still be a bit cold. Lunch is served from 11:30 AM to 3 PM, but it's not available on holidays--also a bit of a downside. On the plus side, the servers are always very kind, and sometimes during lunch they serve an extra side dish in addition to kimchi. The stir-fried fish cake (odeng bokkeum) is especially delicious. Overall, still a solid spot I keep coming back to.

The restaurant itself is clean, orderly, and thoughtfully presented. The atmosphere feels calm and intentional, and the setup appears efficient. One person handles service for the entire dining room, which I was aware of going in, so my expectations for service were reasonable and aligned with that model. Unfortunately, the food simply did not work for me. This is where I found myself debating between three and four stars. From a purely functional standpoint, the restaurant did its job: I was seated, served a complete meal, and charged a reasonable price. But the food itself was a major disappointment. The dish had a sour aroma, and the flavor was difficult for me to enjoy. The dried pollack soup, in particular, reminded me of an extremely watery pho. After just a few sips of the broth, I knew it wasn't going to be something I could finish. I did try the fish as well, but it didn't improve the experience for me. That said, I want to emphasize the subjectivity here. Many other diners seemed to genuinely enjoy their meals, which suggests this is more about personal taste than execution. It may simply be a very traditional Korean flavor profile, more authentic than I anticipated,, and that's likely where the disconnect was for me. I was also the only white diner there for much of my visit, which reinforced the sense that this restaurant is catering to a specific cultural palate rather than a broadly Western one. Overall, it appears to be a well-run, authentic establishment. If you truly enjoy traditional Korean cuisine, this place may be exactly what you're looking for. For those who are less familiar with or less inclined toward those flavors, it may not be the best fit.
