My folks and i stopped by for lunch recently when i was home for a visit. They don't eat out much but recommended Steeley's; I'm glad they did! Their menu is short and simple. A variety of diner sandwiches and simple sides like fries or onion rings. There was more, but i ordered a dipped chicken sandwich and thought fries would be the best option. It was a solid choice as the sandwich was very good. Their hours indicate they're open for breakfast so next time i'm over this way, I'm going to have to check that out. I highly recommend this not so out of the way gem near downtown Dearing Ga

When I saw "...and Tackle" as part of the name I knew this was going to be some good food. Plastic trays for food, plastic ware for utensils, and styrofoam cups for your drink. And let me take a moment to get proper honor due that sweet tea. It has been a hot Georgia minute since I've had sweet tea. 1) I strive to consume mostly water and 2) I don't want the disappointment of mildly sweet/bitter tea. But I had a feeling about this place. I have no shame in admitting that I drank three glasses during the meal and got a refill for the ride home. Now the inside seating is nice and cool, but much like the team working here the layout has a family feel. You might be at separate tables, but your conversations will be overlapping. The outside seating follows the wrap around porch, with the very back giving you a view of the pond. We opted for outside and I am so glad we did. Aside from the occasional vehicle passing by, one only heard birds chirping and frogs croaking. Pure bliss. The burger is a thing of beauty. The mac n cheese, just order it. I don't care if you got a salad. Order this and thank me later. And to top it off, the banana pudding. I will try the pie and/or cake another day, but I had to do the pudding. And there was no sharing at my table. I had it consumed before they returned with my card and receipt. I don't know how long this place has been around, but I sure hope it stays so I can continue to visit (and indulge). If you are anywhere near this place, go!

The food still felt authentic and full of true Hawaiian flavor. Coming from a family with roots in the Big Island and Maui, I can appreciate when a place captures that genuine island-style taste and atmosphere. One thing that really stood out was how they start you off with fresh in-house made pork rinds, similar to how Mexican restaurants serve chips and salsa when you sit down. It was a unique and welcoming touch. We ordered the spicy poke, Spam musubis, and a mixed BBQ plate with two scoops of mac salad. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The mac salad especially had that classic island-style taste that's hard to find done right. The staff was friendly, the decor looked great, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting feel. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for authentic Hawaiian comfort food.

It had that perfect char on the outside while staying incredibly flavorful and moist inside. Definitely the star of the meal. The chicken was just as impressive. Well-seasoned. Perfectly cooked. Every bite was tender with a hint of sweetness and that signature Hawaiian-style barbecue flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Don't overlook the rice. Soft. Moist. Buttery. It soaked up every bit of flavor from the meats and tied the whole plate together. Simple, but done exactly right. The restaurant was busy, which speaks to how popular it is. The staff looked a little overwhelmed during the rush, and you could tell an extra set of hands would've helped. Even so, everyone remained friendly, worked hard, and never let the quality of the food slip. If you're willing to be a little patient during peak hours, you'll be rewarded with a meal that's absolutely worth the wait. It's giving... the kitchen clocked in while the dining room was playing catch-up.

These are a must try if you like wings. Chicken and pancake tacos were delicious. Pancakes had a touch of sweetness. Fried chicken inside with a spicy mayo. Topped with a strawberry salsa that worked well. 3 of these were very filling. Fun and very good. Son had the double wide footlong. Topped with sloppy Joe. After that the 2 sides were different. One had fried banana peppers. The other side more classic with toppings. Son said it was really good. Others had the ahi tuna salad. Tuna was perfectly rare. Salad was good and the wasabi dressing had great flavor without being too spicy. Service was quick even though jam packed. Also very friendly.

The whole place is designed to feel like the inside of a trailer--spray-painted antique chandeliers, old pictures of different trailer parks, and random little details everywhere. It's kitschy, but very intentional, and honestly pretty cool. We came in late after a 4h drive into town after work, and the staff was still super friendly and accommodating. No "we're about to close" energy, which I appreciated. We started with the creamy collard dip, which is basically their take on spinach-artichoke dip, but with collards. Really good. I do think the chips were a little too heavy for the dip--a thinner chip would've been perfect--but that's a small note. The chicken pancake tacos were probably my favorite. The chicken was fried perfectly and still really moist. And at this point, I'm convinced Savannah just knows how to cook chicken. Everywhere we went, the chicken was consistently good. My partner got the grilled apple pie sandwich, which has fried chicken, grilled apples and bacon. He's not even a big pork person, but that bacon was so crispy and the whole combination just worked. Even the waffle fries were good--crispy, fresh and actually seasoned. We had the Grateful Dead and Wicked Kiwi cocktails, plus a couple of shots, and the drinks were strong, good and reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't have a ton of notes here. It's not trying to be some elevated dining experience. It's just a really good late-night spot with good food, strong drinks, friendly service and a fun atmosphere. We sat inside because Savannah in August was not about to have us sitting on anybody's patio. Definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for somewhere to eat late. It was a vibe, the food was good, and it did exactly what it needed to do.

Overall rating: 4.8 Visiting from NYC…read more Absolutely obsessed with this place. Make a reservation!! They ended up seating us outside and it was a little hot. I visited in March and they were found a spot that had some shade which is really nice. The server was so friendly. He recommended a lot of different dishes. On this visit, we sat outside, and while the outdoor seating does expose you to nature and some insects, the restaurant does fan the area well, even offering table top fans to keep the flies away. The entree I ordered was overall decent, a crab cake Benedict with a side salad - I'm confident if I lived in the area I would find a standard go-to order that would be even better. It was accompanied by a Savannah banana iced coffee which truly hit the spot on a warm day. While the restaurant does have its own parking lot, it does appear to fill up quickly - there's plenty of paid parking available around the park, and for our purposes it gave us a good reason to walk around the park before our meal, and again to walk off our lunch afterwards. Pricing is reasonable at about $25 per person, obviously it can get much pricier depending on whether you're just stopping in or you're making a longer experience of your visit. I would highly recommend this restaurant, more so for the experience than the food alone.. but the food is pretty good too.

The place is fun and the egg jokes are...eggscellent The food was good, we had a mix of breakfast items from eggs to multiple breakfast meats, pancakes, etc. both dishes arrived fairly cool in temperature, but we ate them anyways. The food was average and didn't speak out. Sausage was good. I liked it, the eggs were a bit runny but not life or death, and little details like that, BUT.... The service and warm feel make this place a stand out place and somewhere I would return over and over again too... I just might ask for the food to be warmed up

Better alternative to Waffle House except you're paying a little more…read more Family stopped here after Mass and ate breakfast. It's like a typical dinner inside with small tables/benches. Groups of 4 I think is the preferred max. My forever disclaimer: PLEASE be nice and courteous with your waiter/waitresses. Because I only saw 2 waitresses and about 12-13 tables occupied. Despite that, we got really good service and would be one of the reasons why my family and I would go back. And despite it being a full house: all of our meals came in 5-7 minutes! Perhaps an anomaly, but even if it was a few mins longer I wouldn't have been disappointed. Food was good. Not great, but good enough. Worse thing I could say is my parent's omelette was more on the greasy side. I thought my sandwich and side was really good. Especially how much I paid for it. Total price was $60 for 4 people (2 sandwiches, 2 omelettes, and 2 drinks). Perhaps more than I would have preferred, but we didn't think it was terrible. I noticed price went up a little when looking at a menu uploaded a month ago. I know times are tough, but hopefully they're able to stay with the prices they're at for a while. Verdict: your decent diner. The staff and location after Mass is enough for me to come back pending on the day.
