I know I'm going to be a regular here. Beer selections are pretty nice as well as their happy hour thing. Yet I do think i really like there food. Fish and chips, sausage, mac and cheese and Putin I tried- and I like them all! Fish and chips is one I always would go for, so good with vinegar! Staff are kind. It's not a big selections but there are dart, shooting games and Shuffle board which also made me enjoy the time at dan Kelly's. read more

Great pub! The bloodys are like a mini meal! Servers are nice. We went on a Saturday afternoon when they were serving brunch but our server let us order an appetizer off the regular menu even though that didn't start until 3! The server consistently checked on us As did the manager, however, they weren't annoying or over doing it. Definitely recommend! read more

I came in here on a very frigid Saturday evening. Nothing like -13F temps to keep you motivated to walk fast between heated buildings. It was busy but not bad. They had a few TV's to watch sports by the bar. There are a lot of tables throughout the bars & plenty of seating at the bar. There was one bartender for the entire large bar but he was pretty amazing at keeping up. 2 more bartenders showed up within 20 minutes of me being there. I ordered the cheese curds & their house IPA. The cheese curds were absolutely perfect. Lightly battered, crispy, gooey deliciousness. The prices were actually pretty reasonable. They have a very limited tap list but overall, I enjoyed my experience here. I would come here again. read more

We stopped in on a cold Saturday night for a night cap. The waitress was more hammered than we were. Took forever to get our drinks. She actually walked by the bar and looked at our order, and just kept on going. The crowd and beers were great, but the mixed drinks need some help. read more

So we popped in while on a convention trip after looking at the website and the pictures! Well, the waitress had only started that very day--10:30 in the morning to be exact!! She was to say the least--OVERWHELMED!! We had to seat ourselves and even clean off the table!!! After about 20 minutes without any recognition from anybody I walked over and got our own menus. The "waiter" asked where we were sitting.... HUH?? That's when we learned it was her first day!!!!! Then my DEWARS order was not to be found!!!! ??? I then changed my order and TADA.... my Dewars was found in a plastic cup!!? Wanting Shephards pie I went for I guess their version.... No where near what I'm used to!!! Prices are high but most places are overpriced downtown. Four Jim beams was 28. Pbr is like 4.50 and the scotch eggs are 8 but there's only one of them split in half. It's egg(s) folks. Not egg. Rewrite your menu or lower your price. Just saying. Overall it was an average experience. Probably a great place for business types to sneak away and get hammered at lunch. Visited with a group of 8 last night for dinner. 3 of the group ordered pot pie. 10 minutes after ordering the waiter informed them they only had 2 pot pies left. I had the fish & chips. 2 huge pieces of fish, but they were very overcooked. The waiter took my empty glass when I requested another beer. After 20 minutes without another beer being brought to the table, I just asked for the check & left. I shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes for another beer when they weren't busy at all. read more

I checked out the new DK Pub, and it was still solid. Friendly staff and good food. Fish and chips were great, with homemade curry ketchup and tartar sauce that were excellent. They also source their meat (and other ingredients) locally, which is a plus. They haven't done a grand opening yet, so decor and entrance were very low-key, but I'm sure it will be great when it "officially" opens! read more

We were visiting from KC to see the KC/Twins game. We stumbled on this place around noon on Saturday. Our server/bartender Justin was so nice and then Derek talked to us about baseball for quite a long time. We went back this morning for breakfast and AJ was our server/bartender and what a sweet guy. This place has the nicest people working here and the food is good. We aren't big cheese eaters and cheese was in everything we had but not taking a star away for that because it's our preference. We will definitely visit Dan Kelly's next year when the Royals play the Twins again and we fly up for the game. Thanks Dan Kelly for your friendly staff and making us feel welcomed. read more

We went here on a Saturday afternoon to play some pool and have a beer. The beer was flat and served in a warm glass. The pool table was filthy. It had beer stains all over it. I found the brush and tried to clean off some of the built up gunk. The cloth had two rips and the balls were dirty. I had a rag in my pool case and tried to clean them without much success. There was no light over the table so it was hard to see as well. The table had a sticker that said AAA American Amusement Arcades 952-887-5200. I'll check to see if I can rate them as well. Great food! We had a great brunch. I loved the poutine. My wife enjoyed her carmel French toast. The kitchen split waffles for our sons which they enjoyed. Our four year old even said "this is really good food!" Ha. The atmosphere is a casual pub setting. Very low key. The staff were friendly and accommodating. read more

I had the absolute worst experience today at lunch. A co-worker and I arrived at around 11:30AM - the restaurant was half full. Our waitress brought us water and took about 10 minutes to come back to us to take our order. We ordered our lunch and sat and waited. And waited. And waited. She refilled our water and never apologized for the delay or made mention that the kitchen was behind. And we waited. Finally, after being there for 50 minutes, drinking three glasses of water and seeing food being delivered to tables who came after us, we decided to leave. The waitress, as well as the manager, hostess and four other servers must have walked by us 50 times and didn't say a word to us about the delays. Seems like the old DK crappy service never left. I wish I could give them a better review. I love their Happy Hour, but the lack of communication and crap service is enough for me to drink and eat else where. read more

Dan Kelly's reminds me of a Northeast Bar in Downtown Minneapolis. The prices are in line with other downtown bars, but their Whiskey program is top notch. If you are a knowledgeable whiskey/bourbon or scotch fan, this place has some gems for a good price. Lot of locals and service industry workers hang out at this bar, so if you are from out of town, strike up a conversation with people at the bar and you may get the inside scoop on cool stuff going on around town. They have a great happy hour from 3pm-6pm (I believe, I could be wrong), where you can get a lot of good craft brews for $4-$5. I love the diversity of their bartenders, they are always nice and go the extra mile if you are nice to them. I have never ate there under new ownership, so I cant speak to the food quality. Overall, a chill atmosphere with a small town bar feel in Downtown Minneapolis. read more

I give this bar 4 Stars where otherwise it should be a 5. I love the atmosphere and great drink selection. Unfortunately, I was actually assaulted by a bartender inside of Dan Kelly's in late December 2016. She butted in on a private conversation with another patron and decided to use bar supplies as projectiles. We were simply talking about the results of the presidential election. By far the most negative customer service experience in all of the Twin Cities establishments. This person's hate and ignorance can not deter the fact that it doesnt represent the company's values. read more

Literally one of the most bizarre experiences I've ever had. After ordering drinks, we started taking photos of each other, only to start getting yelled at about copyright issues with bud light and that we were violating some copyright infringement...we were not drinking beer nor had nothing on us indicating a beer. I kept saying that I dint understand, but we wouldn't take photos and she just kept yelling that I should "know better". My clients were asked if they paid for their drinks and then the glass was knocked out of their hands causing glasses to break and then were kicked out. The whole thing made no sense and I never seen such a horrible approach to managing anything. Not to mention, I still don't understand what happened. read more

Went there for a business lunch and had great service and good food. Music was a bit loud, but tolerable.

The worst dining experience I have had to date. Terrible service is an understatement. It took 1.5 hrs to get our food and they brought out the order for two out of the six of us. The rest of our food came 15 minutes later. The waitress was rude and messed up our order and then had the audacity to argue and tell us that we were wrong. I told some people that were getting seated next to us about our experience and they got up and left before they even ordered. The Burger was actually pretty good although they forgot the pickles and onions. This was the first time in my life that I actually did not leave a tip, it was that bad! read more

I loved this bar!! I came to Minneapolis last weekend for the first time and absolutely loved it. The food at Dan Kelly's was delicious (I highly recommend the BLT with avocado and fried egg + the poutine!) and the staff was very friendly. I came with a group of 11 people and we were seated immediately without problem. We got our food very quickly and the prices weren't too expensive, either. I'd highly recommend going to this restaurant for dinner / drinks. read more

Came here on a Sunday evening. Complete disorganization. We sat at a high top in the bar. Servers walked by numerous times...no one ever acknowledged us. We had to get our drinks at the bar. The male bartender kept telling us "she" (female with a shaved head) would be over. He really didn't seem to care. No one ever served us. After getting two overpriced beers at the bar, we left. Go elsewhere. Some additional info....Once our friend arrived, he asked a male (brown bun) about parking across the street (we were from out of town, our friend doesn't come into the city). The male's response was, "Read the sign...I'm not a parking meter." As a former server, I find it amazing that a restaurant employee, someone who should be showing hospitality to guests, could be so rude. Perhaps the loud/deafening, angry music they play really impacts their mood. I'd fire every employee I saw. Who owns this place to allow this kind of behavior?! read more

We went to the "new and improved" Dan Kelly's for Happy Hour last week and were very disappointed. We were excited about the new ownership as we had heard good things from their other establishments, but the service here was beyond poor. There were waitress's standing around, but it still took 10 - 15 minutes to get an order of tap beers brought to our table after we ordered them and the bar wasn't even half full. Hopefully they get the issues ironed out, but it was beyond disappointing. read more
