A classic dive bar in Richfield. Nothing fancy, but that's why it is great! Tap beer, rail drinks, great bar food. Fast service. The burgers are fantastic, vibes are chill, feels like you are in a small town bar. Can't wait for my next visit!

    Burger of the month

Their burgers are always 10/10 but this burger of the month was AMAZING! With fried pickles, bacon and dill cream cheese. Everything here is outstanding and well worth the visit.

The perfect neighborhood bar to hangout with friends and grab a burger. I visited on a Friday evening and it was about as busy as your would expect a local bar to be. There is only about 6-7 bar seats to belly up to but I was able to snag one. Aside from that you will find a dozen or so table to sit at. The bartender was super friendly and made time to chat and joke around while still being on top of taking food and drink orders. According to the menu, they have been famous for their burgers since 1933 so I ordered a burger. The California double, added bacon and ghost pepper cheese. This burger was AMAZING. Two huge patties cooked to a perfect medium stacked high with fresh lettuce and tomato. Honesty one of the better bar burgers I've ever had. I absolutely loved my experience and ended up hanging out a little later then expected because of the great staff and patrons.

We grabbed a seat on the patio since the weather was nice, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Service was quick, and our food arrived in a timely manner. I ordered the Sandy Signature Burger with fries. The burger had great flavor, the onions were cooked perfectly, and the cheese was melted just right. The bun held together well from start to finish, which is always a plus. At only $9 for the burger and $13.75 with fries, it felt like an excellent value and was the perfect amount of food. My wife ordered the Sandy Sizzler with tots, and here's what she had to say: "This burger was juicy and flavorful. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the beef without overpowering it. The jalapeños added the perfect amount of heat, while the chipotle mayo brought a smoky, creamy kick that tied everything together beautifully. The crispy tots were the perfect side--golden, crunchy, and cooked well. While the portion wasn't huge, it was just the right amount to complement the burger without leaving you overly full." Overall, we were pleasantly surprised. Good food, friendly service, fair prices, and a relaxed atmosphere. We'll definitely stop back if in the area.

SIMPLY STUFFED A…read morefull belly is assured after finishing one of the 5-8 Club's famous 'Juicy Lucy' cheeseburgers. I'd read there are two places to try an authentic Juicy Lucy in Minneapolis: Matt's and the 5-8 Club.  Matt's claims to be the original, but it's a smaller divey restaurant, harder to find parking and they only accept cash which is unusual in this day & age.  So, with kids in tow, limited time, and virtually no cash, we chose the 5-8 Club. Getting here was pretty easy; in fact, it was "speak easy" (hehehe).  The 5-8 Club started as bootleggers back in the roaring 20's and later invented the signature molten cheese-filled burger in the 50's.  Although the 5-8 Club has three other locations, this one off of Highway 62 in Minneapolis is the original. The wait was much longer than we were prepared for, I'd guess 20-30 minutes before any food came out.  We were absolutely famished by the time the burgers arrived and dove right in.  My wife gave high praise to the Juicy Lucy ($14.50), a 1/2lb burger stuffed with choice of American, Swiss, or blue cheese. The onion straws ($11) were a tasty concept, but they were too soft and lacked a dipping sauce.  A small cup of blackened ranch, beer cheese, ANYTHING would've been better than the 'nothing' they gave us.  I dug the chicken poppers ($10) with "poppas" sauce, a zippy mixture of bbq, buffalo and other spices.  Fries were fine. I polished off a 'Saucy Sally' ($16.50), a Juicy Lucy topped with shredded lettuce, grilled onions and thousand island dressing.  It was essentially a Big Mac with liquid cheese in the middle, and that's by no means a bad thing.  It was both messy and delicious. Bread = 4 Circuses = 3.5 Atmosphere was that of a midwestern tavern: dark wooden booths, a vaguely musty smell, the aroma of sizzling beef patties with clientele that seemed to be a mix of regulars ordering 'the usual' and tourists like us.  Our server was friendly but check-ins were infrequent. * TL;DR * We couldn't leave the Twin Cities without getting a stuffed burger, now could we? Final thoughts: the Saucy Sally was a very good burger that squeezes into my top 10......but the top 5 spots are still occupied by Bad Apple, Au Cheval, Lockdown (RIP), Empire, and Next Whiskey Bar, all in Chicago / the outlying suburbs. The speed of service was very slow and the onion straws were a disappointment, though apart from that it was a great lunch.  We were glad to stop by, and should we find ourselves here again I'd be happy to try a different iteration of the Juicy Lucy at the 5-8 Club.

Looks like there are daily specials/activities (see pic). When we walked in, we were greeted by the host who was our server and everyone's else server also, so clearly they seemed a bit short staffed as the poor gal was running around everywhere including pouring drinks at the bar. There is a jukebox and some claw machines to spend time on while you wait on your food so we did have an entertaining time perusing through the place. The food itself was ok, milkshakes were mid-ish (chocolate one was a bit too strong, never thought would ever say that in my life) also. The menu is fairly standard for a bar/restaurant. We did enjoy the cheese sticks as the breading on them was not standard/out of box and tasted really good so would recommend. It's a bar/hangout spot so unfortunately the bathrooms reflected that :( with being a bit dingy. I asked for her to dry it off and she did. There was only one other table in there and service was still lacking. Food was fine. My medium burger was cooked WELL DONE but the fries were crispy as I requested. We were charged an additional $1.50 for Mayo on my burger. Without warning. What the heck kind of nonsense is that? $1.50 for mayo for a sandwich. Without saying something is especially ridiculous. I grew up in this neighborhood and was visiting on a trip from out of state. It was a pretty disappointing experience.
