This is easily one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Denver metropolitan area. As a first generation Vietnamese, I have pretty high standard for good Vietnamese food. But thay doesn't even compare to my parents, who was born and raised in Vietnam. So, when we go out, it can be difficult to get their thumbs up for good Vietnamese food. But Dan Da did it. Not once, but multiple times. Now full disclosures, when I took my parents here, I already know they liked the food from our experience at New Saigon, which my parents loved so much they were saddened when they heard the restaurant closed. So it was to their surprise that they got to eat here when they visited. Everything was good, and we ended up getting a crazy amount of food. From the Dan Da Tower to the Bun Bo Hue to the Clay Pot Shrimp, every dish was exceptional and more important, every dish reminded my parents of home. This restaurant is pretty much a cant's miss here in Denver for any fans of Vietnamese food. I've taken friends and other family here and this restaurant just cannot miss.

This isn't your typical pho-focused Vietnamese restaurant. They serve bold, rustic, and more traditional Vietnamese dishes that really stand out. Great service as well! The place gets very busy, so if you're coming with a group, I highly recommend making a reservation. After eating here, it might be my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant. There's parking available behind the restaurant, and their family also owns the bakery next door, definitely worth stopping by to check it out as well. Dan Da Tower - Pork Skewers, Shrimp, Pork, Shrimp Egg Rolls, Shrimp Paste, Soft Shell Crab. A little expensive, but it contains a lot of meat. It's basically a DIY spring roll. Great for a group! The crispy shirmp was my favorite! White baby clams - Absolutely a 5/5. The spicy tamarind sauce was bold, tangy, and perfectly balanced. The combination of lemongrass, scallions, shallots, chili, butter, and fresh cilantro created layers of savory and slightly sweet flavors. The clams were tender and soaked up the sauce beautifully. Do watchout for the season, because the sizing of the clams can be small Timeless Spicy Lemongrass/Xao Sa Ot: The protein I picked was a combination of seafood, but you can do others like chicken or just shrimp. I wish the sizing could be a little bigger, but I'll accept what I get since it's very tasty. If you're someone who likes spicy food, I'd ask them to make it more spicy. It came with jasmine rice.

Dan Da was such a great experience from start to finish. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which immediately set the tone. I really appreciated the chance to try something different from the usual Vietnamese go-to like pho. I ordered their shared soup, the Golden Chicken Mac Soup, and it was absolutely delicious. It reminded me of a comforting chicken noodle soup but with its own unique twist. I loved the abundance of fresh veggies and the very generous portions of chicken. It's the perfect dish for a cold day warm, hearty, and satisfying. I also tried their lychee limeade, which was amazing. It wasn't overly sweet, had just the right amount of tartness, and was super refreshing. Overall, Dan Da offers comforting, flavorful food with great service, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu.

Never judge a place just from the outside, because you might be very surprised how happy and satisfied your stomach will be in a few minutes. My husband and I met a group of 10 friends at Dan Da for lunch today. The drive here was long, and if it wasn't for meeting my DHHA group, I would have never drive to here. Why? There are a lot of great Vietnamese restaurants in the Denver area. Just the Little Saigon district on Federal Blvd alone has so many options, so why drive the extra distance just for Vietnamese food, right? WRONG! Even though the back entrance to the restaurant was not pleasing to the eye and was not what I envisioned, walking through the restrooms and then the kitchen area, I could already feel the good vibes and great energy this place has. We were promptly seated. Once my group of 6 was ready to order, the owner happily took our order and acknowledged our great choices including their famous dish, the Dan Da Tower. The Tower is a must for a group of at least 4 to share. I loved the two full plates of different types of meat choices including deep fried soft shell crabs, shrimp paste, grilled pork and shrimp, and egg rolls. The third plate was filled with bean sprouts, pickled carrots and radish, and some greens. Along with this Tower came rice paper and water. Yes, you "roll your own" meal with this dish, and man, dipping this rolled of food in Dan Da's special fish sauce was so good! My mouth was having a wonderful dance party, and all of the taste buds were invited! The other favorite dishes were the bỏ lúc lắc (shaken beef), deep fried red snapper, and catfish in clay pot. I would skip the pork belly and calamari clay pot. Instead, use that money and order canh chua (spicy hot & sour fire pot). I cannot stop my review here without given props to the waitstaff. Along with a younger waiter, the owner served as one of our waiters, and I must say that they made us feel very welcome and truly appreciated us for coming in and try their food. I hope your adventure eating here will be as joyful as our group of 6 with 2 tables. Share and share your food with each other so that you can get a chance to eat and experiment different types and choices of food. Minimum of diners per table: four. Maximum should be six. My total grade for Dan Da is a solidan A.

My understanding is after growing up in her family's New Saigon restaurant and then running the very large Savory Vietnam for five years, chef An Nguyen was burned out and needed a break. However, she soon opened this charming, tiny space that specializes in rustic, country-style Vietnamese dishes (the name means, "people of the countryside"). It is also conveniently right next door to her sister, Thoa's, fantastic bakery/sandwich shop, Banh & Butter. The space is elegant, but tiny with about eight to ten tables, four along a banquette, one booth, and a small bar with some seating in the back corner. There's an open kitchen in the rear and a huge, stunning mural on the east wall. Service was efficient, prompt, accomodating, and very friendly. The bar is pretty limited if you want a mixed drink, except for the five very creative signature cocktails. There are very limited wine options, eight beers, and several tea choices. We started with the Shrimp & Pork Eggrolls which came with a large pile of rice noodles, lettuce, herbs, cucumber, pickled carrots, and daikon. They were piping hot, had a nice crunch, and were delicious. I then had the Shaken Beef Tenderloin which came with a generous portion of perfectly rare beef chunks, soy, garlic, black pepper, romaine, cherry tomatoes, the house fish sauce vinaigrette, and a huge bowl of perfectly-cooked jasmine rice. The beef, sauce, and accompaniments were all delicious. My friend had the "Family" Deep Fried Fish. He chose the sea bass option. This was nicely presented, beautifully cooked, and accented by a great ginger fish sauce. He loved it. The space is cozy, the service was great, the food was terrific, and we had a nice time. It's not cheap, but the prices are reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and the execution. The menu is quite extensive including salads, soups, noodle bowls, rice plates, hot pots, rolls, lots of seafood, and various specialty plates to accomodate almost anyone's taste. Check this out!

All the flavors were impeccable! The staff were friendly and attentive to our large group. We were impressed with how well each dish came together with such rich flavors. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. While everything tasted amazing, we ordered the tower to share and found it super messy and hard when trying to pick off of the plates. Regardless, we still had a great time!

This place was phenomenal. I attended a Yelp event in which Dan Da, catered a few of their dishes. I was impressed then with the taste, and even more so after visiting the actual restaurant. We were greeted immediately and felt welcome. We asked for some guidance on the lengthy menu selections and our server explained some of the restaurants most popular dishes and his personal favorites. We chose the crispy noodles and a seafood curry in a clay pot. Wow! Such Flavors, delicate and savory, spicy and tender, comforting and satisfying. Portion size is large so we had plenty to take home and enjoy for lunch the next day. Service was simply exceptional - prompt, friendly, helpful, but not overstated. Full bar, fine tea selections, freshly brewed coffee. Parking in a private lot in back. Thanks Dan Da for showing us how simple Vietnamese country food can and should taste like.

Been waiting forever to try this place and better yet, I got to go with my friend! Right on Colfax next to Banh and Butter, this is place a must! The decor is pretty modern with a twist and not your usual Vietnamese restaurants, so that's a nice change for me. Parking on the streets, but I recommend parking in the back. Lots more space without dealing with the oncoming traffic and there's a back door to enter, so you don't have to go all the way around the front. Service was good, but our waiter was quite busy and didn't give us water until I asked, no biggie. The room was not all filled, but I can see how the waiters are very attentive to their customers. I had ordered the NB4 - Bun Thit Xau Hanoi - Pork Skewer Combo and my friend ordered the SR3 Com Thit Nuong. My NB4 was a really good size for the price and better yet, the presentation and the flavor was on point! I had to ask for a separate plate to take out the eggroll, pork, and shrimp so I can get to the bottom of the bowl! Love the charboiled pork, the little black crisps makes it all. I didn't care too much about the shrimp, but good to have. Eggrolls were delicious and filled with meat, unlike some restaurants opt to have only veggies in it. My friend devoured her plate and didn't even speak to me lol. One other time I ordered the NB4 take out and it still tasted the same with the same portion. (sometimes restaurants can give you less or more, all depends!) I came back another time with another friend. I tried their CP8 - clay pot with pork belly and calamari with shrimp paste. It's served with rice and cucumbers. Woooo it was soooo good! It's good portion to share, but my friend wanted to try something new...to her. She ordered the Bun Bo Hue and spring rolls. She liked that it was not Pho and it was something she could decide whether she liked it or not and she did! Overall, I love coming here! They represent Vietnamese food very well, Southern and Northern!

Awesome, modern take on Vietnamese cuisine! Located on an up-and-coming strip of Colfax, this restaurant is classy and tasty! There's plenty of seating inside the restaurant and the interior design is pretty cool. When seated, there's a water jug for the table so that you can refill your own water (which I absolutely love!). There are so many great options to choose from. Per the server's suggestion, I decided to order their most popular dish, the Shaken Beef Tenderloin. It did NOT disappoint! It comes with a side of rice and the salad dressing for the veggies is just perfect! The beef is well-seasoned and super tender! Would highly recommend. I'm really looking forward to returning and trying more from this awesome restaurant!

Came with a group of my girlfriends and able to be seated fairly quickly with a reservation! The service was excellent and quick! Got the tower which was a good appetizer to start off with and lots of variety. Got the sour soup, shaking beef and a noodle dish. Everything was soo yummy! Will definitely come back to try more dishes

They just changed their menu, so they didnt have the bun bho hue I was hoping to see, but I was able to enjoy their beef stew which was just as comforting. They make both the hot tea and Vietnamese coffees the slow way which let's you know it'll be delicious. Good, classy service and the space was a roomy, versatile place that allows all sorts of groups and solo eaters be comfortable. There are 2 bathroom stalls down the hall.

Ambiance was awesome! The owner Khai stopped by and talked to us and he was very welcoming. We got the Goi Bo Sot Me (Tamarind Beef Salad) and it was bursting with flavors. The thai coconut milk tea was very refreshing and is made in house as well. Our friend ordered the coco curry shrimp and it was delicious. The shrimp was jumbo and it came with a lot! My husband and I ordered the canh chua to share as our entree and it was very fulfilling. Canh Chua is a Vietnamese comfort food and theirs was packed with lots of sweetness, tanginess, and very flavorful. We got the fish fillet added in it as well and the fish tasted very fresh. I am definitely adding my Dan Da to our list for when we come back to visit!

I had a great dining experience here in this very unique and modern Vietnamese restaurant. The wall decor was honestly the coolest part of the interior. They took our reservation ahead of time and our table and waiter was ready for us immediately. He was awesome and gave us some good recommendations. The tower was my favorite part of this meal and their soup was tasty as well. I will 100% come back here in the future. I can see why this restaurant has so much business.
