DECEPTIVE SALES TACTICS AND CONSUMER INTIMIDATION Do not…read moretrust this dealer's verbal promises. They use "Signing Fatigue" and misleading sales tactics to defraud customers. 1. The Bait and Switch: During the purchase of my 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300, the Finance Manager aggressively pushed a $3,000 NVP Warranty. I was explicitly told it was "Bumper-to-Bumper" and covered the entire engine. This was a lie. They rushed me through a massive stack of digital documents, hiding the fact that they were actually selling me a highly restricted plan. 2. Failure to Honor Commitments: When the car suffered major PCV and LED failures (P052E), NVP denied the claim because of how the dealer registered the contract. The dealer now hides behind "AS-IS" clauses to avoid responsibility for their verbal misrepresentations. 3. Legal Intimidation: Instead of acting in good faith to resolve the $3,000 fraud, this dealer had their In-House Counsel send me a "Cease and Desist" letter to intimidate me into silence. They would rather pay a lawyer to bully a customer than honor their sales promises. I have officially filed formal complaints with the Virginia Attorney General (OAG), the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board (MVDB), and the SCC. I am seeking a full refund and a state investigation into their business license. If you value your money and your rights, buy your car elsewhere.

I stumbled upon this place by accident (meant to go next door but they were closed on a Sunday.)…read moreThe people here were very welcoming and had exactly the car we needed - the only problem was that it was the first car we saw. So we did do a lot of other car shopping and some research into the car we liked here, and I will say that in the end, my daughter ended up with a great car at a fair price. Everyone here was willing to work with us and the car has met our expectations. I would recommend this place for sure!!

Let me offer a little financial education wrapped inside a story and review because what happened…read moreat Capital Auto Sales was a masterclass in "Buyer Beware 101." We looked at a used 2011 Audi with low miles that was labeled a "Great Value" online via CarFax. Fun fact: those platforms base their ratings on local market listings, not true vehicle valuation. Translation: if ten dealerships all overprice their cars, the least overpriced one magically becomes a "Great Deal." It is basically the best of the worst award. The salesman seemed friendly enough at first until he learned we had our own financing. Suddenly he avoided eye contact like the truth was physically painful. Those were absolutely not the words he wanted to hear. And that is when the "FUN" math party started. Most credit unions follow a 125 percent loan-to-value rule which means they will only finance up to about 125 percent of a car's real verified worth so you do not end up deeply upside down the moment you sign. When our lender pulled the actual numbers using industry standard data, the car's true value came back at about $11k. Not the sticker price. Not the market hype. The real valuation. So a car worth $11k has a maximum safe loan amount somewhere around $13,700 total. This includes tax, title, license, and fees. That is the cap. Period. Capital Auto Sales, however, wanted us to pay several thousand dollars more than that...and was bold enough to ask us to put money down to pay for their markups. GASP...THE NERVE! When our credit union refused to fund the inflated price, the salesman suddenly rolled out an entire menu of preferred lenders who would be thrilled to help us overpay. You know the type. The ones that would probably finance a cardboard box with wheels if the dealership slapped on a protection package and called it "premium." Yes. Those. At that point the math was mathing. Once you know the real value of a car, agreeing to pay way above that would be financially irresponsible. No amount of awkward explanations or other lenders could change basic arithmetic. To make matters even more entertaining, they also tried to slip in junk fees and a questionable "APEX Protect" package which was really just an aftermarket tracker for their benefit...disguised as a necessity. None of it added value. All of it added cost. This is not business. This is bad business. Buyer Beware truly applies here. Capital Auto Sales relies on customers not understanding loan to value rules, true vehicle valuations, or the tactics dealers use to mask inflated pricing. If you shop here, go in with your eyes wide open. Better yet, go somewhere with ethical practices and transparent pricing. Protect your wallet before their deals empty it. We walked away educated, not defeated. And if this review helps someone else avoid overpaying by thousands, then sharing it was absolutely worth it.

Please DISREGARD the other reviews…read more I was extremely excited to do business here with my family and purchase a car. We bought a car as is and the clerk was extremely nice but very pushy. WE GOT SCAMMED. DO NOT come here and buy a car. We checked the Carfax and everything was in perfect condition. Less than a month in, the car had very bad problems with the pistons and was eating away the oil. We have to add oil to the car EVERY WEEK. The Carfax showed no problems, which is why we didn't purchase a warranty (because it seemed like gimmick tax-ons if there were no problems during the inspection). But people know that piston problems don't just appear immediately after 1 month. This is a problem that takes time to accumulate. We called back and they said there was NOTHING that could do to help??? We were LIED to regarding any engine problems that the car could have had. This was the worst scamming experience in my life that scammed us out of THOUSANDS of dollars. We got other opinions if this was a problem that could be fixed. All opinions advised we should sell/trade the car because fixing it would require building a whole new engine and would cost the same as buying another car! I have NEVER written a review before for any place and this is my first. I am a business administrator, journalist, and entrepreneur and will make sure to share the word regarding this SCAMMING BUSINESS with the DC news, DMV friends/family, and the Better Business Bureau. This is the most unprofessional dealership business and their intentions were just to get rid of a car with major problems. I am very fair share, but we explained to them the situation and there was no help or advice given. PLEASE do NOT do business with these people.

From the moment I worked with him, Pedro was incredibly friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. What impressed me most was the way he handled every part of the experience. Even when he recommended additional services, he never made me feel pressured. He took the time to explain what was recommended, why it was needed, and answered my questions in a way that was easy to understand. His approach felt informative and honest rather than like a sales pitch. Pedro also went above and beyond in a way that I truly appreciated. I had wiper blades in my car that needed to be installed so I could pass my state safety inspection, and he personally offered to put them on for me. That may seem like a small gesture, but it meant a lot to me. It showed that he was willing to take the extra step to help a customer, even when he didn't have to. I did have a longer wait than I expected, but Pedro made such a difference in that experience. He repeatedly checked on me, kept me updated, and made sure I wasn't left wondering what was happening. His communication and attentiveness made the wait much easier. What really stood out to me, though, was watching Pedro interact with everyone around him. He was consistently kind, respectful, and patient with every customer I saw him assist. He never seemed rushed or dismissive. When people had questions, he took the time to listen and explain things thoroughly. He also has a wonderful ability to explain car mechanics and technical information in everyday language, which makes a huge difference for customers who aren't knowledgeable about cars. Customer service is often about the little things, and Pedro consistently got those little things right. He made me feel respected, informed, and taken care of throughout my visit. I genuinely appreciate the professionalism, kindness, and personal attention Pedro showed me today. He is exactly the kind of person you hope to have helping you when you're dealing with something as important as your vehicle. The dealership is fortunate to have someone like him representing their team. Thank you, Pedro, for making my experience such a positive one. Your kindness and willingness to go the extra mile did not go unnoticed

Making an online appt was easy. Arriving a few minutes prior to our appt was also very easy. There are many service staff ready to take in customers. We sat with Pedro who explained the process. We waited in the waiting with other customers. Waiting area was clean with various chairs, TV and vending machines. I started reading the 1 and 2 star reviews on Yelp! Yikes, frightening and hoping this was not going to be our experience. We were told they would update us via text. After about 60 minutes, we got the video telling that 4 out of the 10 inspected items needed our attention. Some of the items(air freshener) seemed a bit over the top. I clicked "no" to all of these since we do have a trusted mechanic near our home. Within 30 minutes our car was ready and we were ready for the "hard sell" on their add-on services. No hard sell, car was ready, keys were given and we drove off. There was a strange smell inside of the car so we are hoping it's just part of the repair. Stay tuned.
