After working today, my family and I wanted to try out the cafe inside of the Holiday Inn we're staying in for the next week. I couldn't find a Yelp profile for the cafe, alone, and that's a shame because this place was very good. So I added them. :)
FOOD: Honey mustard glazed salmon with rice pilaf and broccoli; Sirloin steak with red skinned mashed potatoes and broccoli. Both served with an incredible piece of char-grilled sourdough bread with butter. Honestly though...this steak could compete with Outback's sirloin and may even be a little better. I asked for medium-rare and it was delivered a perfect medium rare. It was easy to cut, tender, juicy and flavorful. It may lack the seasonings of an Outback sirloin, but it was a wonderful cut of beef. The potatoes and broccoli were both on point and my plate was left empty. My wife devoured her salmon with just the right amount of semi-pink on the inside. There was nothing left on her plate or our son's who also ordered the sirloin. I'm impressed with the wonderful execution of preparing these meals....especially for a Holiday Inn brand hotel. SCORE: 4.5 STARS!!
SERVICE: James was on his game and did so with a pleasant, outgoing personality. Our drinks and meals were delivered promptly and he was managing the bar with thirsty patrons the entire time. Aside from Daniel being the chef in the back of the house, James was a one man show. He did it with efficiency and a smile. SCORE: 5 STARS!!
OVERALL SCORE: What a nice, hidden find in Morrisville, NC...inside of the Holiday Inn hotel near the airport. They're only open for dinner M - F from 5p - 11p but they also offer a breakfast / brunch buffet, daily, from 6:30a - 9:30a. If you're staying in the area or are a local that may want to try something new, different and tasty...Daly City Cafe is definitely worth checking out. 4.7 STARS!! read more
