What a hidden gem. We loved our visit to Daisy's grill. French toast was really good and the service is good too, we'll be back

My friends and I were looking for a convenient brunch spot that was halfway between us and also offered parking, which was a scarcity in my neighborhood.  I knew that my dining companions were likely to bring their baby to the meal, so I ruled out the Brownstone Pancake House, which often had a lengthy wait time, and found Daisy's Grill, which was just down the street.  Of course, there was a party using most of the restaurant on the day of our brunch, leaving few parking spots available.   In addition to the parking hassle, the service was ...bizarre, for lack of a better word.  When we walked in, we mentioned that we were checking in for a reservation that my friend had made.  The staff looked at us puzzled and asked if we were looking to MAKE a reservation.  We each repeated ourselves multiple times before they finally realized what we were requesting.  At that point, they offered us a cramped booth right next to one of the entrances.  Since it was a freezing afternoon, and we would need more space, I asked for another table.  We were escorted out of the main dining room and over to small section of booths in the take-out portion of the restaurant.  We grabbed the remaining large table there and sat to wait for our friends to arrive.  Within the ten or so minute wait, two servers came over for a total of at least four times in an attempt to take our order.  Each time we stated that we were going to make our decisions after the rest of our party arrived.  Then, immediately after our friends showed up, the waitstaff again appeared without giving our guests the chance to even glance at the menu.  We slightly appeased the eager waitress by requesting some drinks.  Since we ordered 3 coffees, they wound up giving us a full carafe and multiple refills, but they later charged us for 4 separate coffees.  Annoying for sure, but at least the coffee was robust and flavorful. For my meal, I ordered the Daisy's Salad, which was topped with avocado, corn, tomatoes, and cucumbers.  I asked to leave off the onions and to replace the romaine with baby spinach, despite the fact that the lettuce replacement incurred a ridiculous $2 substitution fee.  My friend told the server that she wanted the EXACT same meal as what I had ordered - substitutions and all.  The waitress seemed confused and repeated the order to which my friend confirmed that, yes, that was what she had wanted.  After a bewildered look, the woman finally processed the order.  My friend's husband then ordered a wrap without issue, but when my boyfriend ordered a short stack of pancakes with a side of bacon, the server started to laugh.  We all responded with puzzled looks, and my friend's husband asked the waitress what was so funny, to which she responded that she just found that his order did not fit with the rest of ours.  We were not sure if it was because his meal was heavier, because it was a breakfast item compared to our lunch ones, or what the issue was, but it sure was strange.  After that matter was resolved, the waitress kept asking if we wanted to order anything else, causing my boyfriend to cave and throw in a side of waffle fries.   Just when we thought it couldn't get much worse, our salads arrived without cucumbers.  When we told the server about the missing ingredient, we again received her confused glance and a response that she "did not know" if cucumbers should have been included.  She just stood there, looking at us, until I asked her to check the menu.  She did so and realized that I had been correct, but then asked how we wanted her to remedy the situation.  We responded with blank stares and asked for a side plate of sliced cucumber, which she was quickly able to gather.  Once we received our complete salads, we found all of the ingredients very fresh.  I also sampled the waffle fries, which I found crispy and robustly seasoned.   We were continually checked in on throughout the meal, almost to the point of annoyance.  Also, there was another entrance to the restaurant through the take-out area, that the staff did not want opened and wound up locking towards the end of our brunch.  After several failed attempts by patrons to open the locked door, they finally put a sign up asking people to use the other entrance, but it was a bit too little, too late for our experience, which had been constantly interrupted by these events.  Another odd occurrence was the manager coming to our table and offering to hold my friends' baby while they ate, as if they would voluntarily give their daughter to a stranger. So, while the food was fine and the staff meant well, they seemed very inexperienced.  Daisy's Grill really needed to get more organized and professional if they wanted to see repeat guests. read more

I ordered from GrubHub thinking this was very high quality food due to the really good ratings and location. I mean a 4.8/5 in Edgewater was a dream come true. Well, it was way too good to be true. It was a total disappointment. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak, BBQ sliders, cheese fries and a Steak Quesadilla. The food was way too greasy and the fries were old and refried, trust me we can tell! The steak on the Quesadilla also was refried or put on some oil base because once we ate it our mouths were glistening. We ended up not eating the food because we were afraid the grease was going to mess up our stomach. I'm not trying to be rude and put this place down but you guys have to stop cutting corners and stop dipping everything into oil to reheat.For the quality of food I was given, $43.00 was wayyyyy too much. It was just average everything, nothing special. Also, we all know the ratings in Grub Hub are fixed. That's just beyond messed up, you lure people with those fake reviews and then make them waste enough money. I've never dined in, perhaps the food is better if made there but if you order delivery, just expect that it won't be as fresh as dining in. read more

Stopped by for breakfast for 2. We ordered the western omelette which came with home fries and toast and the French toast with bacon added and coffee. All was delicious with sizable portions! The coffee came with the carafe so you can pour yourself refills. Will definitely return! read more

Our team at TG Hairstudio in Cliffside Park were looking for a place that offered 3 things. 1. Amazing tasting quality food. 2. Consistency. 3. Decent time delivery. 4. A great selection to choose from. One of our clients was raving about Daisy's grill and we decided to give it a try. WOW. We are so satisfied, this place has met all of our desires!! I'm ordering right now from my house, which I'm excited that they deliver to Ridgefield Park! I literally can't wait for my bacon cheeseburger with cheese fries to get here. So far I've had their chicken panini with the fresh mozzarella and a side of sweat potato fries and it tasted like an angel prepared it in heaven. I also had the regular cheeseburger and regular fries which were amazing as well. 2 for 2, now looking to see if they will be 3 for 3 with my recent order. Ok I'm done. We stopped by for a quick brunch on a Friday afternoon. We ordered: Rib eye stake with two eggs, served with home fries and toast Beef burger deluxe, served with fries Coffee, a whole pot of coffee was served Tea, served with honey and lemon Service was great. The server was attentive and accommodating. No big fuss when we changed to a different table. Environment is clean. Clean tables, clean booths, clean bathrooms. Clean bathrooms is always important to note. Food was made well. The one thing that could have improved was the serving temperature of the steak and home fries. They were room temp. when served. A very nice place, with a very good price-performance-ratio. When you are entering from the River Road you have to keep at the right side at the Gorge Road, the Old River Road (One Way) is hidden and I past the Street at the first place. :) Parking spaces are right after the Restaurant. The staff was very friendly and we got our order in between 10 Minutes. Everything tasted good and fresh. Had some Omelett and French Toast with Banana. The coffee was very good too. One of the best kept secrets in Edgewater! This place trumps many of the "so-called" best places in the area. I met the owner, her daughter, Greg & Bidi; all of whom are very nice with very welcoming personalities. The owner briefly explained to me how she got her start & how she came to bring Daisy's to Edgewater. Alex was my waiter during lunch on a Wednesday & he was attentive with a warm, kind of coy personality. Lunch consisted of a chicken gyro, perfectly fried french fries & a protein burger with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice to accompany. Daisy's Grill just got to the top of my favorite places for breakfast. I ordered some food for delivery and I am very pleased. The food arrived quickly and everything was simply delicious. The chicken quesadilla was yummy. The corned beef hash was cooked exactly at it should be - crispy and flavorful. And the fluffy French toast was pure perfection, smothered in generous amounts of Nutella. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed. The coffee is great the staff is pretty friendly. They could easily get 4 or 5 stars if they did one thing: add flavor! It's the biggest mistake restaurants make. The foods cooked well but the meat and overall items need more flavor. I like the Daisy wrap, it has sauce. The Philly wrap doesn't have sauce and not much flavor. I can say you would get more orders and visits if you did this one thing. If you do improve this I'll update my review. read more

Discovered this little jewel today thanks to yelp. Definitely my favorite lunch spot so far since moving to this area last month! I would come back here for the sweet potato fries alone! We ordered pickup through yelp, and the waitress had our order ready when I arrived. She was very friendly, and the inside of the restaurant was nice and quaint. We ordered a chipotle wrap and a Jersey wrap with sweet potato fries. The wraps are big enough to share (or eat by yourself if you skipped breakfast). The chipotle wrap was just the right amount of spicy and had a good ratio of toppings. My only complaint is that the grilled chicken was a little dry, but overall still very tasty. My husband's wrap, the jersey, was flavorful and spicy. We will definitely be back! Also, they have a small parking lot and accept cards. read more

I tried ordering from here because of the good reviews. Got the meatball sub and was very disappointed. Barely any meatballs or sauce, very dry and overcooked (microwaved). Only reason for 3 stars is the onion rings were good and crispy. Same with mozzarella sticks. Maybe I'll give them another try. Seems like breakfast is their forte. read more

Honestly, this hidden gem is a pleasant surprise. A prime example of not to judge a book by its cover. You walk in and it's super cute but the food, OMG. It is so so so good. We were looking for a place that could satisfy my husband's breakfast craving and my lunch craving. We wanted some place different and I remember seeing the sign for Daisy's Grill. So we decided to give it a try. As we pulled up it didn't look like much of anything, but we were hungry so we decided to go in. My husband got the French toast with eggs and bacon. He couldn't believe how good it was. The eggs were so fresh, the bacon was perfect and the French toast was really good. I got the beef gyro platter with rice and a side of black beans. It was surprisingly really good. We finished the meal with tiramisu for dessert yum-o. The staff was very helpful and attentive. Don't judge a book by its cover because the inside was decorated really nice. A true hole-in- the wall that was surprisingly really good. Prices are reasonable and there is something for everyone. We could not find any reservations for a table of 6 for Sunday brunch. Came across Daisy's grill and decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did! It's a bit hard to find where it is.. so heads up! It's at the fork of gorge road and old river road. Nice restaurant cool interior friendly staff. Inexpensive food under $10 for an omelette and it tastes amazing! Extensive menu good options.. ordered western omelette, strip steak egg and home fries, chicken fajita and we were all very happy with our choices. They also have fresh juices. I have been a regular of Daisy's for years - even from before they changed their name and moved to Edgewater. The food is good and fresh. I feel that their customer service/hospitality has gone down a little though in recent times - specifically their phone manner and tone when ordering for food delivery, which is a shame to me as a regular customer. read more

I highly recommend their burgers and fries. There's something about this burger that brings me back to a summertime backyard bbq were the burger taste like it was cooked on an outdoor charcoal fire grill and Daisy's seem to perfect this flavor indoors. Really good diner that delivers, and delivers quick! I've been ordering for about 2 years now and still never saw the inside of the place, but their delivery is less than an hour and the food is always good and still hot.
