We were strolling through Atlantic Times Square Plaza, minding our own business, when all of a sudden a Daiso appears like a bright treasure cave. Hubby insisted we check it out. Within minutes, we're knee-deep in plushies, cute pens, and enough trinkets to fill a dragon's hoard... on a budget. They're already rolling out the Christmas merch!! Grabbed some of those too!! Daiso is basically the cooler, classier cousin of the dollar store... the one w better taste but still loves a good bargain.

One of the largest Daisos I've ever seen. You want pens? There's a billion to chose from. You want decorations? There's a trillion to chose from. You want household items? Sure, they got that too. Parking is free (hallelujah). The employees are really nice. And the mall that this Daiso is in is a really nice, cute local mall in MP that does a lot with the little bit of space that it occupies. If you're in town, definitely check out this Daiso. I dare you to go in and not come out with something.

This Daiso store is located in a busy plaza in Monterey park, conveniently located next to free way. There's an underground paneling structure, shaded with the movie theater and other restaurants. It's crowded inside, and apparently understaffed, had to wait cashier to come to the front for checkout.

Located in the same area as the AMC theater and usually my go-to Daiso. The store is well-organized. I was looking for some boxes, and I was able to find some by the wall. Lots of cute things to find here!

CASHIER WOMAN STOLE FROM DAISO OLDER female cashier with short brownish/red hair wearing a mask and speaks in a Chinese accent stole 5 lighters today. I went back to buy an additional pack of 50 lighters and brought a FILLED pack to check the lighters to the cashier. Even though I did bring all 50 lighters to her, I noticed that 5 was missing from the box after her and I finished checking each lighter fluid individually. I didn't think much into it and just grabbed 5 more from the other boxes to complete my purchase. For a minute I thought that the vibes were weirdly off because there was 5 missing when I remember taking all 50 up. It wasn't until I retraced everything. The cashier didn't technically stole from me which I'm relieved, she stole from the store... which still is bad morale. In Chinese the number "5" sounds like "me"/我. So she took 5 lighters for herself. "me"/我 (aka herself) It's the principle and I didn't like that I was involved in this $5 heist. And if the old lady thought I didn't notice I'm Lol and posting here.

There were even cute little paper straws with cute paper animal decorations! There were colorful plates, party, platters, colorful pitchers & more cute items that make you want to have a party! Fun! Fun Items | There were so many pretty gift bags, journals, and pens! I even spotted funny flavors of canned coffees including Snickers, Twix & Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Haha! I don't drink coffee at all, but it was interesting to see! Inside | Huge store, both the neat and tidy, and a huge parking lot! Sighting | We got to meet a cute little dog who had on a jersey! Maybe he wasn't the friendliest at first, but when I placed my hand basket down, kneeled down in my dress, & he saw the snacks in my basket, his attitude changed quickly! He suddenly wanted to be my best friend! Hahaha! Music Unites in the Parking Lot | While excitedly chatting about going to see the Michael Jackson movie, we met a woman in the parking lot! She was so much fun to talk to, as she had fun stories to tell about actually being at actual Michael Jackson concerts! We also met a guy who told us about some of the filming of the new Michael Jackson movie! Imagine that! Anyway, we looked over and saw dustpans. I've been wanting to buy a new dustpan because the old one was damaged when I had to use it to shovel snow a few weeks back when the high desert had a snowstorm. Yes, you read right... I used a dustpan to shovel snow (1st time shoveling snow + using a dustpan to do it) LOL... it wasn't too bad actually. One gray dustpan was $4.49 + tax... not too shabby and it's the sturdy type, too. I didn't check out any other items in the shop, but from what I can tell, they do have some nifty knick knacks, small appliances, general household stuff, etc. It doesn't have a lot of space for customers to walk around though... there are only 2 aisles really... the one closest to the entrance and the one on the other side of the wall LOL. I grabbed one dustpan, waited in line (wait wasn't too bad), and paid cash for it. The lady at the cashier was pleasant. She may have been the owner... not 100% sure though. If you happen to be hanging out at the food court, swing on by and see what fun stuff you can pick up from here. Happy Shopping!

Great for getting specific asian appliances that are difficult to find on Amazon or other big-chain appliance stores like Best Buy etc. They also sell a lot of little tiny tools, such as cookware etc. Feels kind of like Daiso. Overall, a pretty neat place to visit and check things out!

The aisles were too crowded. I had a walker. My friend, in a wheelchair, had a difficult time managing. Something got caught on his wheelchair, and it wouldn't let go. Finally, my friend is a wounded veteran. That's why he uses a wheelchair. He rarely uses his benefits card. He had asked the day before the benefits worker about the parameter of card usage. The worker didn't explain that his card was only for FOOD. He had an exorbitant amount of credit, but it could only be used for food. At the check out, the white woman must have known the rule, because she bagged the food separately from the non-food. She shamed him for making a long line. Maybe had we been white-not me black and female and him Vietnamese and male-disabled or if I had had sex that time, then maybe she would have been respectful. I'm the daughter of a deceased veteran and my friend in the wheelchair, wounded from the war in Iraq. She should try harder. Oh, yes, she was the only one of the staff that was proficient in English. Had the business truly been accommodating, there would have been more space for wheelchairs and walkers. Also, a sitting area for elders and disabled would be there. Finally, common courtesy may go a long way.

Besides the fact that San…read moreGabriel is a super busy street that backs up with traffic, if you decide to buy a bigger item that needs to be picked up from their back warehouse, you have easier access to get in, instead of circling your car around the block. The prices here, in-person can be better and even more discounted than on their website, depending on what inventory they need to clear out. There are lots of chairs, like office chairs, gaming chairs, dining chairs, bar stools, that you can get for a really, really, REALLY good price. I'm not gonna say they're the best quality, but I think it's perfect if you need to quickly furnish a place on a budget, ie - a college student needing a desk, chair, etc for a dorm or an apartment. I would say, try sitting on the stuff in store before you buy to test it's durable enough for your usage. You have to imagine that stuff this cheap is built as mail-order stuff for skinny Asians. I picked up a side table that's lasted the better part of a year, so far. I was SUPER tempted to get a fluffy cat tree for $20. Some cool selection of outdoor furniture. And even some random household things, like a clothes steamer. The thing is, I get the sense that their inventory is rather randomized. But I think you'll find some cool deals or something useful for a bargain if you take stroll and walk around. Their pricing puts a lot of other "outlet" warehouse furniture stores to shame.

The room is pretty big so thought there was going to be a lot of good stuff. Looking around the place it became quickly apparent that this stuff is really just overstock stuff. Sitting in the chairs and feeling the fabric of the furniture you can tell the quality is somewhat lower which is reflected in the prices. After walking around for a few minutes we decided to leave. The prices are good but the stuff just seems disposable. Like you just replace them every year. We just didn't find anything worthwhile and the social media post was obviously an exaggeration and just had to pass. Only go if you want low prices over quality. But we had to pass.
