I've been shopping at Tenshoppe since they first opened in Highland Park (even back when it was Fashion 21 IYKYK). Big supporter of local businesses in my community. They have started to skew a lot younger so I mainly go for gifts. This holiday season I did the same. The sales person at the time of purchase mentioned that I had until Jan 10h for holiday returns. Today (1/4/26) I went in to return one item... from the moment I walked in the employee hanging out at the counter was displeased seeing me walk in with a bag & it showed. I was a retail manager for 4 years so I know how much we hate returns but I would never show it because that's customer service! Anywho I went in with my original receipt only to be told that because I didn't have a gift receipt I couldn't return it. I asked for an explanation because since when is a gift receipt better than an original receipt to get a full refund?!?? I couldn't tell you if the store policy sign was there when I purchased it or not but I KNOW I was never told or asked if I would need a gift receipt for a holiday return. Even so, receipt at hand, tags on, and item was in new condition. You would think that the manager would offer something like a store credit because the policy makes no sense. But no, she just had a smirk and cocky attitude. Lesson learned though, don't shop here ever again, supporting local business shouldn't mean buying overpriced clothes like a $32 basic white long sleeve. read more

I've shopped at this store many times, but the way I was treated recently was unacceptable. Every time I browse, someone comes behind me to "fix" the clothes I just touched. I don't know if that's policy or profiling, but it makes me feel like I'm being watched or followed--and it's uncomfortable and disrespectful. To make matters worse, the cashier, Shanti, was extremely rude. No greeting, no basic courtesy--and at one point, she was literally throwing items instead of handing them over properly. It felt aggressive and completely unprofessional. I've spent money at this store plenty of times, but after this experience, I don't feel welcome. Cool store in Highland Park. It used to be Forever 21 I remember or should I say Fashion 21 but now its called Tenshoppe and its a cute clothing store for women. They also have some cute baby clothes as well. They got some unique clothings that you cant find at other stores at reasonable prices including tops, bottoms, dresses and loungewear as well. They are not too big on shoes tho; only saw a couple sandals out when I visited. Fitting rooms are available and is open. I say this because some other clothing shops wont let you use the fitting room due to covid. Parking is located in the back of the building and the staff here is friendly as well. Its kind of close from home and I love coming here because you can always find something cute! If youre in the area, dont hesitate to check it out :) read more

When the Forever 21 shutdown, I was a little disappointed to see one of my favorite stores leave Highland Park. But upon hearing the opening of a new store, I was somewhat excited. Today I went in out of curiosity and in search of an outfit for the holidays. I left this store feeling highly unwelcome. This all began the moment I stepped foot into the store. I didn't catch this employees name, but I was stared down immediately by a girl with straight, short, brown hair and a red USC sweater. She didn't greet me or my family. We were greeted by someone at the very back of the store. As I began shopping, I noticed that this employee had been following me around. She did a poor job of making it look like she was minding her own business. Never in my life have I been followed by an employee for any reason. As for this store's items, most were highly overpriced clothing you could find off sites like Shein or the Santee Alley. Their sizing was incredibly limited. I did end up purchasing one item, but I can't say will return to this store anytime soon. The original Forever 21 had better pricing and size inclusion than this gentrified shop. read more

Tenshoppe replaced Fashion 21 - that is, the original store of what later became the Forever 21 empire. I was hoping that the new clothing store would match the vibe of the Highland Park neighborhood today. It's now in the center of a hipster neighborhood. It would have been nice had they chosen to feature up and coming Los Angeles clothing brands. It looked nice from the outside. The interior was remodeled to feel brighter and more open. The clothing in the window is for younger women (under 30) and supposedly embodies effortless LA cool. They had dresses, tops, pants, necklaces, two racks of vintage clothing ($10 - $15), hats, purses, and a baby clothing/toy pop-up. Prices are low, like Forever 21 low, e.g., shirts for under $5! Sunglasses were $20. The clothing was cheap but not attractive. The vintage items were strange - the labels were cut out of most items and they had vintage Forever 21 items. Were they really vintage? Who wants vintage Forever 21? Honestly, the baby pop-up store was cuter than the rest of the store. read more

If I can give this shoppe negative stars I would. The clothes is cute and the price is okay everything is expensive I get it. However each time I come in it's like their sizing keeps getting smaller and smaller. I'm a curvy Latina so their sizing is very limited. I've been here a handful of times and never I have been greeted at the moment I enter but I have seen other women who are a different race get greeted so welcoming. The employees are plain rude my friend and I were shopping and she tried on some pants and after a little while their employee called the same pants ugly. Their employees also called my friend crazy. My biggest piece of advice for the employees at this store is STOP talking about your customers that at the end of the day pay your bills infront of them! I really hate the feeling of being in a store where the employees act like they don't want you there, which is exactly what happened when I went into Tenshoppe today. It wasn't just that they didn't greet you or say thank you; they had literal scowls. This is no way to treat someone who is buying from your store. I was planning to buy things, but the employees didn't want me there so I left. And oh, one more thing to add. I asked if I could try on stuff in the dressing room, and they said that they were closed. My suspicion is that they were "closed" because the store closes at 8 and I was in at 7:35 and they didn't want to have to wait for anyone. As for the clothes, they look good from far away but up close they appear cheap and also feel cheap to touch. I would understand the quality issues if they were priced cheap, but the prices were not cheap for most items. I won't be coming back here. read more

The store has cute clothes(way over priced in my opinion). I came in to buy a dress, I unknowingly bought it with a huge hole at the bottom I didn't notice it was torn until I was about to leave my house. Yes I did take off the tag only cause I didn't see the hole until after but I did not wear it I tried to return it that same day but they were closed already, they close at 6 on Sunday. So I tried to return it the next day and the lady said since the tag was taken off I couldn't return it, couldn't exchange it, or couldn't even get a discount for it. I had explained the whole situation to her and they said they have a strict policy with tags it was very disappointing considering the dress was 50 dollars not including tax for a simple black dress and I had just gotten it the day before. I have visited this shop several times now. Most of the time, I found some interesting clothes at a reasonable price that not only fit well, but actually looked good even on an older 60+ female! I can hardly stand how close I live to this place because I can't stop going. The clothing selection is the perfect combination of trendy, quality, and unique. The store is beautiful and it really is my kryptonite. I'm in my twenties and I think it's geared towards women ages 18-35. It's definitely a step up from larger retailers and caters to a LA cool girl aesthetic. They seem to be getting new stuff all the time which, again, is dangerous AND fabulous. I got a turtle neck sweatshirt as an Xmas gift with the tag still on it just the price ripped off and didn't get a gift receipt. So I called this place before going in and explained the situation so I won't have to waste my time going in. I used to shop here all time at least twice a week. The prices have gone up and not the only that the associates are plain out rude. You ask someone to help you with something and they just stare at you trying to make you feel dumb like they aren't getting paid to be there. The store felt open, very refreshed, and really enjoyed the set up of the store since it was very easy to shop. Tenshoppe is great! I've come in here quite a few times now, and I always find something I like, not to mention the fact that their clothes are super affordable. The quality isn't great, but it's better than you'd think it would be for a place that is obviously selling cheaply made clothes. They always have trendy pieces, but the clothing still manages to be fun and interesting. My only complaint about the store is the service. I came here on opening day last year, and the service was incredible. Even though the store was packed, the cashiers would continuously check up on you to make it sure everything was going okay. Unfortunately, since then customer service has been sub-par at best. Every time that I've been to the store since then, there's been very few people there, yet far less enthusiasm from the employees. I've never been greeted, and if you ask them for help, they act like they're being bothered. It really stinks because I feel mildly unwelcome in the store, which is a shame as I would walk in far more often if this wasn't the case. read more
