All of my favorite t-shirts are from Mi Vida. They design everything in-house and use only soft cotton/cotton-blend. The owners are very kind and talented. My niece and I went to a paint and sip event there a couple years ago and made Virgin of Guadalupe tote bags. I love mine so much I don't use, it just hangs near my desk so I can look at it. My favorite time of year to go is Christmas because the shop is beautiful and I know I can get a ton of gifts for friends, family, and for me, too. read more

Mi Vida is a cool neighborhood boutique shop owned by Noelle & her husband Danell. The hours are limited because most of their business is online. They specialize in Latinx influenced women's tops, accessories, & jewelry, which are designed by the owners. The shop provides a community space where local artist can showcase their work, so you'll also find handmade candles, soaps, essential oils, creams, and even little plants from local independent crafters. I stop in occasionally to see what is new or pick up unique gifts for friends. A while back, I purchased a photo of taken by Danell of the Highland Park Theatre snapped from the alley across the street that is now the patio for HomeState. My brother and I used to go to that theatre when we were kids. I recently came here for the Toast of the Souls event in honor of Dia de Los Muertos. Noelle designed a beautiful alter to honor loved ones. There was a DJ and reps from Hornitos Tequila serving up complimentary cocktails for patrons to enjoy while they shopped. I've seen their stuff many times on social media. Today I was lucky to run into the shop. The shop is adorable inside and out and the owners are even more adorable. One is an artist and the other is incredibly cool. We chatted with her for a good while. It's so awesome to see a successful Latina/o business and actually get to meet the owners. I wanted an "Hecho in Highland Park" t shirt but they were out of them. They actually had a few other really cool designs too. They have all kinds of trinkets and thingies and stuff. I loved the plants they had on sale. I told the owner that they were "Señora starter kits". It's a thing. Señoras (our tias, moms and abuelas) really love their plants. Especially these kinds that grow out like a vine and grow everywhere and bring life into Latina/o households. Oh, yeah, guys can like them too. Another really cool thing they have are pins of all the most famous Latina/o neighborhoods. So awesome. Sadly, they had Boyle Heights but not Bell or Bell Gardens. I grew up in Bell. The artist is a guy and it looks like there's a little part of the store where he may actually work on his art. Some of his art is in the store. It's actually pretty cool. Cute little boutique shop in Eagle Rock/Glendale area. Went in on a Sunday afternoon on one of the hottest days of the year... aha! They have AC. After following Mi Vida's instagram for a while and loving the graphics on their shirts, I drove an hour from Ventura County to their shop to pick up a few last minute gifts for my assistant's birthday the following day. When I got there, I saw the shirts that I wanted to purchase for him -- Paz Y Mor and Feelin' Feliz shirts but they didn't have his size in stock. Their shirts are printed on a few different types of brands and styles so some shirts that are Large are probably gonna be a shorter fit and wider, and other shirts will be longer and fit. I'm glad I made the drive down to see, rather than go through the hassle and ordering online and getting a different cut. Regardless of them not having the shirts I was eyeing to get in stock, have no fear, they still had some other options with fresh designs to pick up. And hello, can I also mention the $5-$10 bin they have for different trial prints on various cuts. Still worth it, I bought three! The rest of the shop is cute and cultural. They have a section for spa/pamper with creams, balms, brujita spells. Another section for tschochkes and jewelry-- earrings, pins, hair accessories; and another cute section for plants. Nice touch. Definitely wish this shop was closer, but regardless worth the drive. The shop falls on York Blvd which is a cool strip for other cool, unique shops and eateries. I have admired this store from an insta distance and finally had the opportunity to stop by while in town. Sure I could have purchased items online but I love getting to see the store in person, the passion these owners have for their craft, and feel the energy the store has to offer. This shop was amazing- local artists, reasonable prices, and products that reflect me! Kids wear was pretty low- just a few shirts and bibs. Lots of tees and accessories for women. The customer service is amazing. You walk in and you're greeted by smiles and pleasant hello's. I love the selection they have and how it's catered to our Chicano community. They really celebrate our culture and they have a variety of different items. I got a few pins and some stickers. The clothing is extremely detailed and of great quality. I ordered a T-shirt from this company and they sent it to the wrong address so I tried to call the phone number is disconnected. Then they sent me a text saying how did I like the product when I never received it there's no way to get in contact with them I left three emails, I'm gonna make sure to let people know not to order online. It's a shame that MiVida Doesn't have time to respond. What a disappointment. You show your face on your website, but you don't have any back up for the people that trusted you. read more

Their customer service is non-existent. I will never support this shop again and tell all I know to steer clear from them. Love the merch, so unique! In my experience, the downside like all the other reviews stated is the customer service. I ordered a birthday gift for a friend from here. It took about 6 weeks! Yes, you read that correctly. It was so late and honestly embarrassing for me. I emailed several times. The last one someone stated they would throw in a little extra something for my friend as an apology. Guess what- didn't happen. I LOVE their stuff. I would order for myself when not in a rush. ZERO Very DISAPPOINTED with this establishment. I purchased a gift for my BFFs bday which is too big. Never experienced this in my shopping life. And I always buy online and have never experienced not being helped or not being able to speak to someone. There is no customer service, at all. I've emailed them and no response. The phone number is not in service. And they text you and ask if you're happy, yet when you respond for assistance nothing. I purchased 2 hats and 2 shirts. I wanted to exchange them for a size smaller. They are quick to take your money but are nowhere to be found after that. So sad and disappointed. read more

Came here a couple of times and ordered a patch from them. They sent me a really small patch compared to what I was interested in. I went to exchange it for the actual size I wanted and they insisted that I was wrong about the size when in fact... I wasn't... they made excuses and basically told me no to an exchange or refund. They lost me as a customer and my bf was bothered with their service. I had to take the hit and keep the patch. It's been months since this happened and it literally lays in a drawer with no use... upsets me every time I see it. Which influenced this review.... save your money and buy something similar on Etsy... I'm sure they would offer better service than these people. They just want your coin and don't know what doing the right thing is... the reviews speak for themselves. Btw it was the female owner who left me upset with this business. I used to work down the street & have bought from them MANY times as I believe in shopping local and support mom & pop shops as we are one ourselves. As a friend and I sat outside of a Starbucks drinking our dismal coffee one afternoon, we took notice of a shop directly across the street with clothing displayed in the window. The sign outside read in cursive "Mi Vida" and the colors of the store were those found on Dia De Los Muertos. We commented on the fact that the store looks screwed by its location, as it sits on a heavily but quickly traveled street, where anyone driving past would easily miss it. After we bitched and naysayed for a few minutes, I looked at him and said, "So...we're gonna go check it out, aren't we?" Kind of in the middle of nowhere, the store is nestled between a dry cleaner and some rundown computer repair shop. But we walked in to be pleasantly surprised by its offerings. While the place is small, the clothing selection is still fairly ample, with one side featuring women's and the other men's. The clothing is very much "bohemian boutique styles" for the ladies, while the menz stuff is vintage/thrift skater-esque (dark vintage Levi's, plaid button-up shirts, old band t's, etc.). For girls there is also a small selection of shoes like flip flops, flats, and heels. I mean, who knew? The prices are pretty legit, with the women's clothing running between $10-30. The stuff is cute, a lot of simple cotton summer dresses, tunic tops, and again, all bohemian and trendy. The quality is much like the caliber of Forever 21, but still the pieces are slightly more unique, and a bit cheaper. They also feature a rack of select vintage/thrift pieces that are priced inexpensively, and the nice part is they've already done the diggin' for you. The store is owned by two female cousins who are very sweet and helpful, without being overbearing. They are artists who feature some of their own work in the store, also for sale. Another cool aspect is the stuff they stock from other local artists, like jewelry. It's all very "community oriented". So, if you're ever at that little plaza on Huntington in South Pas with the Starbucks and T-Mobile store, walk across the street and take a gander. I really wanted to love this place. I Ordered a shirt for my baby and realized I Ordered it too small. Well I immediately email them to change the size. It took them 3 days to reply to my email and she told me they would ship the bigger size. Well I got my order 7 days after that and it was the wrong size. Again I immediately emailed them and here we are 4 days after and no reply. I will never order from them again. Plus the bib I bought looks very cheap. I loved this place, just stumbled upon it after going to lunch at La Huarche (also wonderful). Noelle is lovely - and an instinctively fine photographer. Interesting assortment of jewelry, books, clothes - different, reasonably priced, a find in that it's really fun and welcoming as the other reviews say, seems to support local artists and has an excellent mix of books for a very small sample, well picked. Good outing - Highland Park is really moving along and this is a store to support, just as they seem to be supporting community artisans. Noelle was generous with my son, also a photographer, offering a sample of her work, gratis. The photos are really well priced even with frame, make an affordable and unique gift. Great community gallery/shop/space off of York Blvd. Roaming around, I felt like everything was well displayed and beautifully curated... plenty of items representing art, community, homemade goods and LA! Seemed like every time I turned around there was something in a little nook or display that caught my attention... jewelry, clothing, prints, cards~ fun things in bright colors and dope designs. Anyway, I came to Mi Vida on a mission: to score some earrings for the summer. Mission complete! I ended up with three pair~ silver bamboo hearts, gold bamboo hoops, and a seriously sweet pair of zarape beads on brightly colored hoops. So I'm good on my hoop earring game... all for just under $35. Needless to say, I left the shop a happy girl! I have been in this store several times and have purchased a few things in the past however, I will never step foot in this establishment again. Yesterday my family and I walked into the store and no one even acknowledged us. We were the only customers in there!!! There was no friendly "hello" or even a smile. No one asked if we needed help, they simply just talked amongst themselves and ignored us as if we weren't there.
