Hnnnng. I have wanted to go to a Daiso for AGES and I didn't even realize I would be near one until my local friend (I was just visiting) drove me to it and deposited me at the doors. If you want (at good prices): - Japanese snacks and beverages - Japanese tableware - fun cosmetic stuff - office supplies - a lot of your typical dollar store items but BETTER (for instance, I got a very sturdy pair of microwavable bowls with lids and handles) and probably cuter Then you need to hit up Daiso. My haul included an adorable small plastic stand mirror with a Victorian vibe ($3), a bunch of cute temp tattoos and stickers, small blush/contour set, a charcoal mask (this I didn't like.. I'm sensitive to smell and this one wasn't great for me), a couple of lip glosses, a small rotary cutter (whaaaaat? It was like $1.50), a small mandoline-style slicer, an acrylic stand for my makeup way cheaper than somewhere like Container Store or Amazon, an adorable dish that is probably used for dipping sauce but that I'm going to use for jewelry. My favorite thing about Diaso Japan is what is inside. They have all sorts of treasures that can be used in every day activities. I am a sucker for the milk tea, which sells out quick! Wow. All my friends have been talking about this place and when I went myself to see what all the fuss was about, it all made sense. This place has almost anything you can think of. Not only does it have variety but the price is very affordable. Almost everything is a $1.50. Today I bought some stuff for my apartment and I grabbed lots of items and just threw them into my basket. Can I hear a WOOT WOOT?? OMG the first Daiso I've ever been to after YEARS of seeing reviews and hauls online! I don't think words can describe how magical this moment was for me. Ahem...so let me compose myself a bit and calm down. First off, what is a Daiso? Daiso is a 100 Yen store in Japan (Basically the Japanese version of The Dollar Tree). They have been branching out to multiple Asian countries and have reached the west coast, but while I was on Vacation in Dallas, TX it so happens that it was opened during the week I was there! Everything in the store is basically $1.50 and obviously there are other items that maybe cost $5.00-$10.00 as well, but it's very minimal. A lot of the things you buy will all be under $5.00 and that my friend is amazing. The quality is GREAT, I mean what do you expect coming from a Japanese store?? They have almost anything you can imagine and all the things they have are really cute or very great quality for $1.50! Am I over exaggerating? Well I don't know you have to walk into this store and find out! But if you know me well enough from my reviews, I'm very honest and very thorough with my reviews and will NOT lie to my readers. Trust me when I say that this store is freaking awesome! And have I mentioned their customer service? They were all extremely nice and informative. I loved how they all really worked together for the first week of their grand opening. Everyday has been packed for them for the first week. And they did a great job getting the line through and out the door with a smile on their face. So honestly Daiso is a great store and I really hope they expand quicker to the East Coast. I LOVE Daiso and was so thrilled when they opened in Dallas. For a while everything went ok. For the last year, Daiso has failed to replenish inventory. The store is always out of stock on 75% of the merchandise. This has been going on at this location since it opened. Last week I went to the store on Market St in Downtown San Francisco and they were bursting at the seams with inventory. I bought all the items I had been looking for for over a year in Dallas. The workers literally had no where to store inventory, there was so much. It was stacked in the aisles as they tried to cram everything on shelves. This made it very clear that the problems with Daiso in Texas is transport/warehousing. This store would be 10x more profitable if they could get stock. Figure it out, Daiso! read more

I never New a dollar store could be so cute and polished until I met Daiso. They have pretty much anything you could possible be looking for whether it be a notebook, broom, or new pair of chopsticks. The store is always clean and organized which makes it super easy to navigate. Even if you come here dead set on one item and one item only, you're bound to leave with way more than that. But everything here is a bargain so it's okay! I highly recommend their dishes and cutlery because we all know how expensive that stuff can be when you're ballin' on a budget. How much do I love Daiso? Last time I visited the Dallas-Fort Worth area I brought an empty suitcase, a big one, just to bring home my Daiso haul. I love Daiso skincare products - my face loves the charcoal and the aloe cleansing foams. My kitchen is full of Daiso. This time I loaded up on gardening gear. This place is super cool. I'm really bummed that I only *just* found out about it. I was going through a kick of organizing things in my house, and Dollar Tree just didn't have the size and color containers I was looking for (the walls in that room are a vintage-like bright aqua. I do not want bright green or blue or red containers!), so when I saw that Daiso was open, I took advantage of an extra day off of work and went up there. MAN the place is bright, clean, and well lit. Everything is organized and neat. There are lots of cool items that you wouldn't normally expect to find in a 'dollar' store. Most of the items that I bought from Daiso were around $1.50 each, but I did buy one thing for $3. The prices are very obviously marked, and a lot of the items have tags/info with both Japanese and English. All of the employees I encountered were very polite, and even though they were re-doing some displays, they were never rude or got in the customers' way, like other stores. I will most DEFINITELY be back to Daiso! I wish it were closer to my house, but it's worth a quick drive down the turnpike (or Trinity Mills if I don't want to spend the tolls!). read more

This store is the best! I was there 3 times just this past week. I had to keep coming back to check if the item I was looking for was back in stock. If you go to any of the restaurants in the plaza feel free to drop by and peruse while you're waiting (cough cough Gen). This store is a hoarder's dream- but no seriously, it's got everything from little knick knacks to kitchen, bathroom, office, and even pet essentials. And most everything for $1.50! There are some things that are priced higher- let's say they're big ticket items like hampers. Only downside is when their shelves get ravaged you have to wait and hope that a shipment comes in with the things that you want. I love going to dollar tree. The fact that this is just like a Japanese version dollar tree makes me love this place!!! Huge selection!! Very clean and tidy (one way its totally opposite from dollar trees). The staff is very friendly and helpful. It rained when we went so we bought two umbrellas before leaving which was perfect!! I love Daiso. No longer do I have to go to Harajuku or San Francisco to get my fix for Daiso products. If you don't know what Daiso is, or what Daiso sells, do yourself a favor and stop in. Give yourself plenty of time to browse though because there is truly a wide range of things here. My favorites are the snacks, Car Air Fresheners (JDM SQUASH), the innovative kitchen gadgets, and just general home organizing pieces. They also have very nice bowls, plates, etc. This is like the Japanese version of a Dollar store, with Japanese quality and ingenuity. Very different from what you would see in a dollar tree here in the states. A few things to keep in mind, they have a credit card minimum, and sometimes there may be a long line for check outs. Also they don't accept returns, all sales are final. It's like shopping in a China town flea market: cash only, all sales final lol. read more

Yay! So excited Daiso came to TX. Great location with easy parking. Store layout isn't as open and big as LA store but still pretty organized despite being so busy. Purchased a lot of goodies for $1.50-$1. Plenty of cutesy items for the nieces and yummy Japanese/Korean snacks and drinks. So many adorable things here that you end up buying it for the novelty and not because you actually NEED it. Line moves fast with expedite check out. Accepts cash, debit, VISA and MasterCard. Lots of knick knacks...some you'll keep forever and find super useful (like the faux crocs I wear around the house), and some you'll end up throwing away because they're worthless pieces of junk (like the wine cork thingy that broke on the first use; have no fear, it was cheaply priced so I'm good). They also have housewares/supplies, cooking utensils (e.g. bamboo steamer!), dishware (including Japanese tableware), etc. I saw items for pups, crafts supplies for kids, cosmetics, home decor, etc., good variety. After visiting the Daiso in San Francisco, I was excited to find out about the new location that just opened up in Carrollton. This Daiso is bright, clean and spacious. I stopped by to find funny little sushi making items for my Father's Day present for my step-dad. After a minor health scare, my stepdad told my mom, while recovering, he wanted to learn to make sushi. She blinked in surprised bought a sushi rolling mat and gave it to him when they left the hospital. He immediately asked "what's this?", my mom "it's what you asked me for" and tl;dr now he makes sushi rolls with imitation crab every weekend. I knew Daiso carried all sorts of cute and hilarious stuff, but man, I hit the jackpot here. Sushi rolling mats, sushi molds, bonito, sauces, squeeze bottles, wooden sushi platform, the fake green grass to corral the wasabi, standing rice paddle, everything to up his sushi game and experiment. I've never even heard about this particular Japanese Quality Discount Store before and now I see why everyone was excited for the Daiso Japan opening. Normally, I'm not a dollar general or dollar store but this store has definitely changed my perspective. The store contains the most unique, high-quality household material that are used on a daily basis. Daiso Japan doesn't make it feel as if you're in a cheap discount store, which is the main reason why I've never been a big fan of Dollar General or Dollar Tree. I LOVE DAISO!!! Ever since I stepped into the giant original Daiso's back in it's homeland, Japan, I was in love. Ecstatic was I when I discovered they were opening some not just in CA but in TX too, right by my house. But since I moved away, it makes me sad that I can't spend all my monies here as much, since Daiso store locations all have different items every so often during their re-stocks. Ever since opening day, this Daiso has been pretty great with the huge crowds of people and the variety of items. Their snack game is on-point, and I'm surprised each visit of the things I didn't know I needed. Daiso is my go-to place for plant pots, stationary (whiteboards here are so cheap and can fit in an average backpack!), some cosmetic items (face masks, blotting sheets), and other organizing trinkets. Kitchen-ware is a little iffy for me personally, but I do love their tupperware containers. Overall, this place is a great way to kill some time and peruse some interesting finds. Just be careful, you might be picking up more things than you had in mind, but it's justified because the price is just right ;) And of course, the location is just perfect. 85-degrees Bakery is right next door, Fruitealicious also is inside 99 Ranch Market, as well as KFT, Hanabi, Gen, Kuya, and more. 99 Ranch is really poppin' lately, and I'm glad. read more

First daiso in Texas! Awesome! I've been here a couple of times since they opened and the lines are always packed. The store is really bright and organized well, even though it's supposed to be a Japanese dollar store there are some items priced above. Most items I see range from $1.50-$5, daiso in America is a $1.50 which I'm assuming includes the shipping costs. The items that I've purchased have been really good quality. I have purchased some big noodle bowls and they are fantastic, not bad for $1.50. I also bought a little stone pot for I think $4 and it works great. I feel like if you purchased these items elsewhere you would be paying 2-3 times as much for the same stuff. There's also a lot of random cool junk there that some people here in America would not appreciate, Like face massagers ha. Daiso is my favorite store in the world, and now I don't have to travel halfway across the country or across international borders to get to one! Win! This location is smaller than some other stores (when will we get a 2-story store like in Vancouver?!), but they have a lot of Daiso products you never knew you needed. On my last visit, I picked up a musubi maker and some stationery featuring a bear with a handlebar moustache (hey, at $1.50 each, why not?). Their bento selection is a little lacking, especially compared to bigger stores, but they still have a variety of boxes with matching utensil sets and elastic bands. They also have some seaweed punches and silicone cups for jazzing up your otherwise bland lunchbox, but, sadly, I didn't find any egg molds. I also have to hand it to the Daiso staff for keeping the checkout lines moving efficiently. When I lined up, I was near the water storage containers in the kitchen section, but it only took 18 minutes to get to a cash register. As a bonus, the wait didn't feel that long because I could look at the random Japanese snacks while I stood in line (tomato gummies?!). I heard a guy at the register say that Friday nights were usually their least busy nights. read more

I've only been here once and I loved it. I've been to a daiso before when I lived in Japan and it brought back memories of when I would buy a bunch of stationary just because it was cheap. It was fun seeing items with yen pricing on them. Everything here is so cheap. I bought a bunch of dry floor wipes that fit on my swifter for $1 each and the packs are big! So much better than the ones you find at dollar tree. I also purchased some air deodorizers and chopsticks haha. I think I walked out with two bags of stuff for $8! read more

A interesting place to buy Japanese imports. What I can tell this place is a giant Dollar store in Japan they only thing I've really bought was snacks and Green tea. The rest is low grade home products from brooms to wrapping paper. Never the less I always seem to come back for the Japanese novelties. This place is very cute and has A LOT of random stuff, especially the old nostalgic trinkets and such that you usually get in Asia. I came here and easily spent $40 just buying random things, however the quality isn't very good. Granted, you are getting what you pay for (either $1.50 or $3), but in the end, I'd rather just buy certain things from somewhere else. My sponge from here is super cute but it's a horrible sponge that poorly performs. And my maid used the broom I bought here and it didn't work that well so she just ended up using her own. I'm not madly excited about Daiso like everyone else has been. Being from LA, I had the opportunity to have it near me. However, here's why I give it five stars. The quality of the things in this $1.50 store is better than our Family Dollar. I'm comparing it to Family dollar because not all things are 1.50. Some lunchboxes go up to $7.00 and the pocky is $1.75(Cheaper than the grocery stores btw). The location is conveniently put. It's across from George W Bush Tollway where Hmart and Spa Castle are placed. The parking lot is large, which will be necessary when the new Dan Sung Sa Bar opens there. Culturally we don't see a lot of genuine Japanese stores in the DFW area. There is no Little Tokyo like we have in LA, there is no "japan town". Daiso however provides a step towards that. Weeb or not, everyone deserves to be culturally aware. Not only do they sell things that we Americans would normally use, but there are products that will make people stop and say ... "Hey, what's that?" Next time you're near Carrolton make sure you stop by. Credit/Debit card limits are $10.00 so if you're not sure what to buy make sure you bring Cash. So excited that I finally took the plunge and made the trip over to Daiso in Carrollton. There is a new location opening up in Plano, but I really wanted to see this location so that I can eventually compare the two. Most of the items are $1.50, and you can find everything from nail art to authentic snacks, nom! The SOFTEST white towels to use during workouts and facial masks were on my list. I also threw some fake lashes in the cart, because at 2 for $1.50 they were worth trying out! You can find a lot of knick knacks, back to school items, kitchenware, and cutesy gifts to throw in a hodge podge gift bag. Overall it's worth the trip. I come here at least twice a week. This is my all-time favorite store. You will find things in there you didn't even know you needed. I can't live without the make up removing wipes from here. I get all of my kitchen supplies, bathroom scrubbies and tissue boxes from here. And the eyebrow pencil from Daiso legit compares to the ABH and Giorgio Armani brow pencils. I've gotten all of my storage items from here, from plastic containers, to fabric boxes, to office desk storage. This place is absolutely amazing. You can't beat the price either- $1.50!! I was first introduced to Daiso in Korea back in 2010 as I was drawn to them because of the low prices and they had just about everything I could need small item wise for my dorm room. So I was thrilled that by the time I got back they started a campaign to launch in the U.S. and started seeing them all over California. However when i moved to Texas 3 years ago I never thought they would make it out to Texas yet here they are! So what is Daiso? Daiso started as a 100 yen store, the Asian equivalent of a dollar store except instead of a dollar its a $1.50 The key benefit is that for that extra 50 cents the quality of the product is significantly better than something you'd get from dollar tree. I feel like Daiso is more appealing to women then men but even I can find random cool things strolling the electronic accessories or tool areas. But they really specialize in things like hygiene products, housewares and stationery. There's also value to be had in the snack section which is always cheaper than the Asian grocery stores. I came on opening weekend and feel that was a mistake. After the hype dies down this place will be more manageable especially on weekdays. Nonetheless my SO wanted to come so we decided to make a day trip out of it. Bottom line: Highly recommend this place. Glad they're expanding into Texas. But if you're local avoid this place if the store is packed as there isn't much variation of products that they carry so stock will always be coming in. read more

Daiso has everything you could ever need. More importantly, it has everything you didn't even know you needed. It's like, The Container Store and Office Depot and Walgreens came together and had a sugar-coated Asian baby. (You know Japan does it better.) Stationary, organizational tools, kitchen appliances, a great selection of ceramics, socks, headbands, snacks, drinks, you name it, Daiso probably got it. A good majority of the things in the store are $1.50 and they'll be labeled if otherwise. It's probably the best place to come for gift shopping because it's cheap but also really good quality for your dollar. I would note that the snack section is pricy -- go to 99 Ranch next door for cheaper Pocky or other Asian snacks. The store is clean, well-stocked, and smoothly managed. All sales are no refund! No return! Minimum credit card purchase is $10, but anything else goes. Probably inspired by overpopulation and tiny living spaces in Tokyo, a lot of things in Daiso are cleverly designed for ergonomic, economic usage. This store has multiple locations across the U.S. but derived from Japan...I believe. It is discounted rate cute shop to purchase gifts or random kicknacks. For this Dasio location, I liked how large this store is and not as crowded like most other Dasio location and the layout of their products seem organize. Some shelves were not stocked throughout the store or maybe was just empty because it was a large store. Items here were at a discounted price rate like I have addressed above so anywhere from $1.50 to about $6. They have snacks, foods, home goods, different kitchen tools, stationary, fake flowers, and many more random items. They didn't have nail clippers though which was weird to me because they had nail polishes, nail polish remover, and nails tools...but no clippers. read more
