The Teso Life on 820 in Haltom City appears to refuse to hire Caucasian applicants. A friend group applied together, and only the Hispanic applicants were hired, despite the Caucasian applicants having prior retail experience. The only Caucasian employee they saw was from another store helping with the new location before its grand opening next week. The hiring manager, Israel, was responsible for the hiring decisions. He did not show up for some of the scheduled interviews, requiring those applicants to reschedule. During the interview process, he had applicants complete a paper application and then said, "We can continue the interview if you want." Considering they were already there for an interview, that statement made little sense. When applicants asked about the status of the other candidates, their questions were ignored. The store was still hiring, yet the Caucasian applicants were passed over while the Hispanic applicants were hired. Based on this group's experience, it raises serious concerns that race may have been a factor in the hiring process. If that is the case, it is unacceptable. Hiring decisions should be based on qualifications and experience, not the color of someone's skin. read more

This place is so lovely! This is where I buy all my holiday/birthday gifts and they're always big hits. Surprisingly even though it's a Japanese store, it sells all sorts of asian goodies. There's Korean ramen, Chinese puzzles, Japanese sweets and chips, etc. Personally I love their hair products here. It's pricey so be prepared for that. It's $19.99 apiece for the shampoo and conditioner alone but totally worth it if you want really shiny, smooth hair. They have a huge selection of blind boxes too but watch out because those go quick. Make sure you use your number when you check out because the points build up and don't expire. read more

I like this Frisco location better than Carrollton because there are more options, but do compare with the prices on Amazon. I remember I once bought a box of hair dye at Teso for $10 and now in 2025 it has gone up to $15 because of the Trump tarriff. Competition is tough in this economy. I notice a lot less people visiting the store after the poster about pricing increase is posted on the door. Best of luck to Teso and I will still visit when I need some essentials. read more

Teso Life is hard to describe...it specializes in Asian products. You have Asian foods and snacks. There are Asian toys, dolls, a version of Legos, and more. There are Asian china products, cooking pots, pans, and utensils. There is Asian beauty and cosmetics. There are also Asian dish soaps, laundry detergents, and hair care products. This store has a large variety of Asian products. It was huge, but well organized. My son bought a few snacks and gift items. I think that if you are looking for Asian products this store is worth checking out. read more

I was looking for a place that might have some of the Japanese food items I had while visiting Japan this year. My visit to this store was in May 2024. When I entered, I just smiled. There were sooo many items. It's like a mini grocery/shopping center. The place is not huge, but it has a variety of items, from drinks, candies, snacks, Japanese dinnerware, toys, cosmetics...basically they have a little of everything. I was particularly looking for a puffed treat with a ginger flavor I had tasted in Japan. It was a palate cleanser at a Tea Ceremony we attended. I found it in a grocery store in Japan and purchased 3 bags. I was thinking I might find it one of the numerous asian markets in Frisco. I did not find the exact bag at Teso Life, but they had something similar. It was okay (6/10), but not like the original I was looking for (9/10). Overall, this is a fun place to shop, browse, and try various food items. It even had a couple of claw machines, which are EVERYWHERE in Japan. read more

Visited this location for the first time after frequenting the Carrollton location. I was so excited to see that I had a location less than ten minutes from my house, but was unfortunately followed around the store by one of the few white women that work there. It seemed like every aisle we went into, she would follow and pretend to fix something. We had no issue in other parts of the store around other employees, but we repeatedly felt uncomfortable around her. I understand that this store does not take stealing lightly by the picture of the one person who has stolen from them so far, but I would hate to assume that they wrongfully accuse customers of doing so. I have worked in a retail setting and this is not the way to go about loss prevention. Also, they have better selection at the Carrollton location. read more

This is such a fun store for anyone into Asian skincare, makeup, toys (specifically blind boxes), snacks, home goods, etc. I had previously visited this store in March and went back in looking for a specific blind box to gift to my husband. They were sold out of the one I was looking for but had a good selection of other blind boxes to choose from. I picked up 4 different blind boxes (2 Mickey Mouse themed, 2 panda themed) and some inexpensive cotton pads to use with an essence (skincare item) I had at home. There is a lot to look at in this store, and it gets really busy on a Friday night! In March I got an amazing deal on a sheet mask that I like but I didn't see a similar deal on this visit. Definitely give this place a look if you have an hour to kill - if shopping is not your thing, they also have a ton of claw machines set up on the side of the store. I'll definitely be back on my next visit to Frisco! read more
