We had an extremely unfortunate experience at this Dairy Queen earlier today. Staff, who looked like high school students, first lacked proper customer service etiquette and were extremely slow. Bigger issue though is the machine to make blizzards was clearly not working, and rather than offer to comp us, they tried spending ten minutes getting the 'custard' out, which clearly was not working. I am very pregnant and did not trust the food quality or sanitation as a result of what I was seeing, and asked that they void my order. Absolutely horrendous experience and they really should have closed the store when they realized they had all these issues. I have no plans to return to this establishment, with so many other better ice cream and custard options around. read more

My family and I have frequented this location many time over the years and I can say with confidence that this location's dedication to sanitation and high quality product is the reason we keep coming back. The customer service is always through the roof and this location is what other locations should strive to be like. The food always tastes better. I'm not sure if it's because I know they clean the machines or if there is a placebo because I always leave with a smile on my face after interacting with the staff but I'd recommend this place. read more

Placing an order was easy and efficient. Cake was customized and completed on time but the store was closed when I arrived. The friendly owner was super accommodating and I was able to pick up my ice cream cake after all, DQ to save the day!! I am forever grateful! It's our go-to for birthdays and special occasions. Supposed to be open until 9:30 pm tonight. I showed up at 9:28 and the door was already locked, the lights were turned down, and the people inside were already wiping everything down. If you're not going to serve customers until your stated 9:30 pm closing time, then just make your closing time earlier so you can get out when you want to leave. read more

Arrived at 9:10pm tonight... a Friday night in the SUMMERTIME... closes at 9:30. The 50 ish year old male worker(possibly owner) abruptly shut all the outdoor lights off as we walked in the door and harshly advised us that they are trying to close and we should be warned that tomorrow they close at 9... a family with two children were sitting at the indoor table and he harshly kicked them out!!! We have lived in Woodridge for 27 years and were just attempting to support our local businesses, but this guy was scary nuts... BEWARE... near hostile. We WILL NOT be back and I will strongly recommend to all of the friends and family I know in Woodridge not to approach that business. read more

This location is awful. The manager gave me a hard time about using the Dairy Queen app because the "coupon" had to have his address on it. However, it wasn't a coupon, it was an app. He offered little to no help to add his store as a favorite location. I figured it out easily, but decided to take my money elsewhere since he was such a jerk. read more

We have been here many times just hoping that we've caught him in bad moods. I cant believe corporate DQ allows this. It's appalling to be honest. Who doesn't love Dairy Queen soft serve? Sure it's not good for you - but it's just one of those things you have to have once in a while. Blizzards, Peanut Buster Parfaits, Brownie Earthquakes...YUM! There's nothing really that makes this particular location stand out from the rest. The service is a little on the slow side, not always with many people there to help. I'm not going to issue a low rating solely because this isn't a new, state-of-the art DQ with a drive-thru or hot menu items, but they'd be nice to have. Inside, the store is small, loud, and a little dirty. It's oftentimes packed with families, and the overall combination of noise from machines, employees, and kids will give you a headache pretty quickly. But hey, what can you say - it's the old-fashioned, neighborhood DQ. read more

I Highly recommend this Dairy Queen! First, the owner and the young lady working were So pleasant and kind and helpful! I had a coupon; no problem, no attitude... well maybe a Pleasant, Happy to Oblige attitude! Next the ice cream... I had a cone the first time I was in and the ice cream tasted first-rate. I've been to so many Dairy Queen's, and the quality really varies. This was thick and rich with full taste. I'm in. Okay, the big test for me was the second time I went in and ordered a banana split Blizzard, my standard. I've been to one DQ in Naperville where that same Blizzard tasted so bland, it may've well just been a Vanilla. But this owner did it properly and Wonderfully!! Stopped by here for ice cream tonight, and I had an unbelievable experience! It started off when I asked the manager/owner if I could have a cup of water. He said, "no we don't have water you'll have to buy a bottle". Then I said, "you can't give me a cup of water from your fountain drink machine?". He then proceeded to lecture me on how I should not drink water that wasn't bottled and he doesn't even do that himself in his own home. He flat out refused to give me a water. So I end up buying a bottle. Then my husband goes up and asks for two extra spoons, one for each of my 2 year olds. He then tried to charge him for them!! Oh yeah and I forgot to mention when I gave him cash for the water he "forgot" to give it back, I had to ask him for it 5 minutes later. He was literally nickel and diming us!! My mom and I went in tonight, this was my 2nd time coming to this location, and the only person working was the franchise owner. There was a customer in front of us who asked about using a coupon and the owner responded, very rude, that he doesn't do that because he doesn't make any money. So the customer politely said he understood and went on to pay with a gift card, which this seemed to upset the owner again. He didn't even give the gift card back on his own that still had money left, the customer had to ask for it back and tell him he kept it. So when it was our turn I ordered a banana split, thinking I can ask for any ice cream and toppings I want. He charges me and I ask for all strawberry toppings, to which he responds, "you should've said that before (points to the picture), this is how it comes. It'll cost me extra now to make it all strawberry, but I'll let it slide this time." I offered to pay the extra fee for all strawberry toppings, but he said he'd do it this once, as if he was doing me the biggest favor in the world, but after he lectures me. There were two people waiting after us who left, I'm assuming because they seen how he had treated us, and that made him very upset. He went on to tell my mom and I he hates people and who did they think they were that they couldn't wait. I understand it costs money to have a business, but that is not something you complain about to your paying customers. Never going back again. read more

First time ever going to a diary queen and decided to finally try it out since I was near one. I was craving for ice cream but I came from the gym and went with a mango pineapple smoothie instead and it was $2 for a small during happy hours. The smoothie was made with fruits and frozen yogurt and was amazing! Lol well worth it IMO for $2. read more

The franchise owner has appalling customer service and is awful for making my son feel like he can never go back. Initially when I was asked if I would like a lid for the cup of ice cream my son had selected I said no not thinking I would need one. Turns out I was wrong I needed one for a cone I had purchased in order to avoid a mess in the car.  The owner said No I could Not have one, that he could lose his franchise if he were to give me a cup or lid even if I paid for it. After asking a few more questions he asked for my name and phone number so he could call his corporate office to let them know about me. I said no you can see my review on yelp, have a nice day. This is hands down the best service I've had in the food industry. All of the staff was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond even during quarantine. I gave them a gift card that only had part of the payment on it and they gave me the rest of my order for free. Hats off (and masks on) to the new management. A review for the ice cream probably won't help anyone- you know what DQ offers, and you know whether or not you like it (although the new warm DQ Bakes are really good, especially the Apple Tart ala Mode!). But I've never had bad service here- Betty, the owner, is always super sweet, and has always been really helpful and friendly. She's also really generous with the Blizzard mix-ins! The younger staff is generally a bit subdued- I think they generally work after school or on summer break- but I always get great friendly service. read more

The ice cream is great, but as a franchise it should be. The issue is the management. We were two families that came in for a late night treat with our 2 girls. It was 9:30. It took them over 15 minutes to get out ice cream (which is fine) BUT...at 10:00 on a Saturday the owner turned off the lights, looked at us and said "we close at 10!!! We were still eating our ice cream! Who does that?! Next time we are craving a late night treat we will go to the DQ at 63rd and Main. It's not that far from here and it's run MUCH better! read more

I was on line all the way outside the door and there are 2 adults male was working and it took almost an hour to get to me and when I order a Banana split and they were out of whipped cream and they already know it but NEVER informed customers on line. Would give zero stars if I could!!!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Amit is "owner" so he claims and is always the ONLY person working when there is 10 groups of people waiting out the door to get ice-cream. Went in tonight with a BOGO free coupon from the DQ app and ordered 2 small blizzards with extra toppings (2 extra toppings each) he then proceeds to tell me that I can't use my app coupon. I asked why and he said that he is already losing money by giving me extra toppings - I go not really because I am paying for a small blizzard with extra toppings anyways and one is free. He then tells me "I will do it this one time" then cancels the order and punches it back in and puts 4 additional toppings onto ONE blizzard and gives me the blizzard with no additional toppings for free. My bill was almost $7 for 1 small blizzard. I told him just take all the toppings extra off. He goes "see everything costs money doesn't it". I then paid for my blizzards and he went to make one. He was then hounding me to make sure I exited out of the coupon on the app. Sorry sir but I am not letting you see my phone for a coupon that expires TONIGHT. After he makes the one blizzard he asks if I want a lid. I go "yeah can I have one of the tall lids (like for a sundae)." He then tells me that it doesn't fit on the blizzard - I go "yeah it does I get it all the time" since the flat lids always make the ice cream go all over. He tells me that he doesn't have any of the tall lids and I could see them right in front of me on the ice cream machine and he then tells me "I'm not giving you one of those". I told him ok give me my money back then I am done. He then proceeds to tell me he is not giving me my money back!!!!!!!! I told him I want my money back because I am not paying for his horrible service. He still was telling me that he was not giving it back because he already made it. I told him I would call the police to come get me my money back - he then threw the blizzard in the trash (I was laughing on the inside because he lost money there). I requested to get receipts for my money back and he claimed it went back on my gift card but I went home and called customer service because knowing him being as cheap as he was he probably did not give me a refund but HAHA AMIT JOKES ON YOU I AM GETTING THE MONEY BACK SO HOPE YOU READ THIS (talked to customer service and they are refunding me and it is coming out of your account). I told him that maybe with all the money he saves by saving all the sundae lids maybe he should hire some workers so people are not in there for over an hour while he does all the transactions and makes all the ice cream. OK. ice cream is ice cream, but every time we go in there the guy(owner) is so rude. Don't go right before closing or else he will be even more rude. We just got home and he was super slow and then get home to find out there is not any hot fudge on my hot fudge sundae!!! How do you mess that up???!!!!
