We used to be regulars here, but we stopped going a few years ago because the restaurant was really rundown ... filthy carpet and upholstery on chairs and booths. Just an unappealing atmosphere to eat in. We decided to try again, enticed by the $5 Hamburger offer. OMG this place is disgustingly, filthy! Ripped booths, thread-bare carpet, worn dishes. I can't imagine what the kitchen must look like! I'm sorry I didn't think to take pictures. Their food is still good. It's such a shame. read more

I never really expected to write a review for Bakers Square in 2024, for one of the last locations still in existence. However, here we are. This location in Woodridge has been there for what seems, like forever. I was expecting the same exact experience that I can so clearly recall from years and years ago. The experience was interrupted by a second glance at the very worn carpet, wall paper peeling off the wall, a pie plate that was so worn it showed the fork marks that probably millions of people had enjoyed a slice of delicious pie on. The experience seemed different though, no tables of a group of teenagers excited to be out on their own at a restaurant that's not fast food. No bustling restaurant, no wait for a table, just a slight wait while the server who may have been multitasking saw that we were looking to be sat. No excitement in the air existed. The food, a burger and fries was reminiscent as used to be, with the exception of the fries. Bring back the same exact fries, please. I saw the potential though, looking at the other diners it was clear that we want it back. Bakers Square can be a hangout for the young and old. It just needs a makeover, just don't modernize the decor. If you can replace the carpet and refresh the paint and rehang that wallpaper, you might have something here. Bakers Square from the 90s with the same food and decor with really good pie, that was a hangout for everyone could be a recipe for success. No in your face themeing like some restaurants do today. I'm looking at you Applebee's, TGIFridays, Chile's, just to name a few establishments that don't do what Baker's Square did. The history of Baker's Square is interesting with a few different groups owning them it seems that they don't know how to make what they have work. Many Baker's Square restaurants have closed and many have been converted to just our locations with only a handful still offering food. Baker's Square can be great again they potentially have something that no restaurant currently offers. A confortable experience where you "come for the food and stay for the pie" I just hope the current owners realize the opportunity they have. read more

WE realize it is a holiday today. You'd think they'd have some of their best people working. We had three meals that were so bad I don't even know where to begin. Our family has been eating a long time to come here and have a meal. Food was either burn, stale, cold or stated like it had been sitting for a long time. The irony is our food came out way too fast. Mashed potato's were like paste. dinner rolls were so har I could have used them as a hockey puck. Has browns were doused in oil and burnt. Turkey was so bad I wouldn't even offer it to a dog. Only the dressing was good. Our server forgot about after two large parties came in. A person from the kitchen brought us our meal I told this person it was the wrong item. She practically bit my head off. hey I'm the paying customer. I should receive what I ordered. Never again. Very bad service, bad food, bad customer service. I'd leave zero stars but this site insists you leave a star. read more

Went there with some friends last night. The service was horrible. The server said oh get some pie. It's free pie Wednesday. I ended up ordering a slice because of this. Our server never cleared our plates when she brought the pie so we stacked them ourselves and ate around the dirty dishes. Then when the bill came i was charged $9 for my pie. I asked her about it and she said oh that's because you only drank water, you need to order a soda to get the pie free. I said you talked me into the pie saying it was free , don't you think you should've told me that it wasn't. She just shrugged and walked away. I do not think I'll be going back ! read more

I've ordered Thanksgiving pies from this bakery for the past few years and they've always been delicious. Unfortunately, this year there was a long dark hair in the French Silk pie. It was really embarrassing since I was serving it to guests. I called to let them know and they apologized, but there wasn't any form of recourse offered. I wasn't looking for a replacement pie -- the restaurant isn't nearby -- but some acknowledgment beyond "sorry" would have gone a long way. read more

Bakers Square is a rare find these days, even in the suburbs. We like to frequent the playground that is less than five minutes away so Bakers Square is an easy meal solution. The restaurant was not busy at lunch hour therefore it was not difficult for our party of 14 to get seated. The only downside was that it took them a while to combine a few tables and clean it. We placed our orders soon after we were seated. Our waitress was excellent in getting every single item correct and for remembering which entrée went to whom. Huge credits to the waitress and kitchen staff for acknowledging our party had young children and served their food first. They were also very smart in dividing our girls' cheeseburger and leaving out the tomato and pickle slices. That is excellent attention-to-detail even without us making the request. However, the overall wait time for food delivery was a bit lengthy considering how the restaurant wasn't even half-filled. Ultimately, everyone got their food and was content. Service is a bit slow and décor is dated however it continues to serve its main purpose with delicious pies and affordable diner food. We would likely return for dine-in but we will also plan ahead for long wait times especially with a large party. Note to self - They make the banana cream pies at this location and they sell out early. That is our family's favorite pie so I will have to remember to order in advance next time! read more

Woodridge, IL. Ordered online. When we got there they said we didn't order 2 pieces of pie. So we paid for 2 more pieces of pie. When I got home and saw the receipt they emailed me the first thing on the list was two pieces of pie. Next when I looked at the Cobb Salad all the lettuce was brown. When I called I was told sometimes a piece of brown lettuce sometimes would get into the salad. Well there was more than one piece. I asked for a refund they only offered store cash. Which meant I would have to order again from them. They really have fallen down in their carry out department. read more

The large interior has a mid-century look complete with a fireplace. The food is good and freshly made, lots of American classics, burgers and pot roast were delicious. The Bakers Square closest to my house closed down, there's nothing like those pies for the holidays . When I found out there was one only 35 min away I ordered ! I drive out and picked up 3 pies for Thanksgiving 2022. The way the pickup was organized was fabulous !! You drove up and gentleman greeted you asked if you preordered or not , you drove one way to refrigerated truck if you preordered of not he told you best place to park . I preordered so I drove around a very nice lady greeted me with a iPad asked my name and then verified what I ordered, drove up some and a young man put the bag in my car and verified what lies I had again ! I experienced 1 of the most disturbing displays of customer service, on 3/1/2024. The restaurant was probably at less than 25% capacity during this time. I was waiting in the lobby for a DoorDash order when a gentleman began exiting with his family. The family appeared to be Filipino or of related descent. It's important to note that no other minority groups were noticeably present in the restaurant outside of myself. The customer was very disappointed and hurt that his family sat for 30 minutes or so without being offered service. He was stern in his delivery when he asked to speak with the representative in this photo. I assume he was a manager or someone in leadership. When the customer advised him of what took place, he threw his hand at the customer in a very dismissive manner and said, "FINE!" suggesting the customer just leave accepting the lack of hospitality. The customer never rose his voice, used foul language, or caused a scene. I just happened to be close enough to hear and witness the interaction. The "manager" even went further to stare the family down in a disgusting expression of intimidation and disregard. I believe this to be a clear act of discrimination or terrible customer service to say the least, and it should be considered unacceptable. The customer mentioned on the way out the door, "shame on you", and I agree. Shame on you, Baker's Square, for allowing this type of customer service to be displayed by leadership in a store full of guests while other employees watched. read more

Holy price increase! the prices have gone up about 25% since the last time I was here I know things have jumped but that's a little crazy!! so for me to get a BLT and fries and the other party to get a cheeseburger and fries, a loaf of bread and a pie with the tip was $56. The food was good the server was good. The manager had a real pissy attitude-- very unfriendly, very condescending in his mannerism and probably shouldn't be working with the public. I'm just saying walking around snarling he told me I could use Apple Pay but then when I went up to Pay, he's sitting in the corner where he pretty much sat the entire time besides, the one time he walked around the dining room. He sent me back to my table with his pissy attitude and told me to pay there but yet I could've just paid right upfront and I'm not gonna take that out on the server because it's not her fault that she's working for somebody I wouldn't last five minutes with that that's all I'm gonna say He made me extremely uncomfortable. If it wasn't for him I'd say I'd go back again, but if that guy is working there, probably not. Wonderful Cobb salad, best I've had in awhile. Fantastic turkey dinner as well as chopped steak dinner. Our waitress Shari had a wonderful attitude which was great for us since hubby is a jokester. This was the first time coming to this location but found out our favorite waitress from Willowbrook which closed now works here but was off today. It is a very clean restaurant with great staff. Managers came around speaking to everyone which is rare nowadays. They even helped the waitresses clean tables and floors. Great to see team work, keep it up. Definitely would recommend this restaurant and will come back when in town from Houston. Great job Willowridge, continue the team work! read more

Our waitress, Shari was absolutely terrific! We placed our order for drinks, but changed our minds before we could catch her to tell her. When she brought our drinks to our table we explained that we changed our minds, but we couldn't catch her in time to tell her. She was super nice about it and wasn't bothered at all that we changed our mind on her. She was very understanding, warm, kind, outgoing, social, and overall just a wonderful waitress! This is one of the few Bakers Square still open. I think the food is actually pretty good. The service at this location was fast. The location is easy to get to as it's right off 355. I was in today for breakfast and left with a pounding headache and a promise to never return. "Roof work" created a horrific smell in the entire restaurant. I should have left right when we walked in but we decided to stick it out. BAD idea. Our server was distracted most of our visit. Food came out luke warm. The horrible smell continued to just get worse the longer we were there. It took entirely too long to get out check so we could leave. Highlight of our experience was listening to the GM tell people he "hasn't keeled over yet" from the smell so it's fine. STAY AWAY! This place has gone down hill fast. read more

Please if you have any mercy in your heart to allow the younger generations to be able to enjoy a wide variety of delicious pie, you will both visit and recommend this Bakers Square! I have only been here once because all the 3 locations closer to my home closed. I have no idea why because their food was always reasonably priced and tasty and most importantly, their pie selection is the best!!! I don't know of any bakeries that come close to the taste and variety here. Because I am a creature of habit, I typically purchase Lemon Merangue, Banana creme, Coconut creme, Blueberry or Oreo. All decadent and only between $12-$18 dollars for the whole pie! Plus they have discounted single slices with your entree. Save room for the pie!!!! Despite the 20 mile drive, I will continue to support this location. PLEASE dont let Bakers Square become a memory, trust me you ll regret it!!! read more

Really nice restaurant compared to other locations. Very clean, didn't have that "carpet" smell other locations have. Staff was very pleasant. We were there on a Saturday night, place was pretty much empty except for a couple of tables, and us. Which was actually nice. I had the European Truffle Pie and WOWSERS was it good. It was really light, so I had to force myself to eat it slowly because it would have been very easy to finish that slice of pie in 30 seconds. My BF had the choose 4 breakfast - he tore that sucker up! lol. Lots of items to choose from, at a pretty good price. We ended up taking home a french apple cream cheese pie because they had a $2.00 off promotion in honor of national pie day. Stopped in with family for All you can eat fish on Friday. Restaurant was busy and we were seated immediately. We ordered right away since we knew what we wanted. First of all the waitress messed up our iced tea order, we didn't complain just shuffled our drinks around. We noticed other tables received their food that were seated after us. Another customer complained about not receiving her full order . After waiting 40 min we decided to leave and eat someplace else. The waitress asked if we wanted to speak with the manager but at this point we just needed to eat so we could enjoy the rest of our evening. Waitress seemed overwhelmed, no bus boy to clear tables, a long line waiting at the door . We love to order pies from Bakers Square but won't be dining in again. read more
