I haven't event bitten into the cake yet and they're already receiving a 5 star review. Their pricing is very reasonable, artistic quality is unmatched, and they are the NICEST people ever. I will update on how delicious the cake is and follow it with a picture. Right now... they already have a repeat customer with their service and just the pure aesthetic of the beautiful cake they made for me. Best local bakery in the business!

Custom cake

I needed a custom cake made for my friend's themed birthday so I submitted an inquiry on The Sweet Spot's website. They reached out to me within a week or so with a quote - I ended up needing a bigger cake and wanted to change the flavor, and Mary Jo was very accommodating of both requests. The cake was ready to go when I requested it and it looked FANTASTIC!!! My friend absolutely loved it and we all loved the flavor of the vanilla cake and buttercream - a couple guests told me the taste reminded them of pancakes, in a good way. Overall I'm very pleased with this bakery and can't wait to get more custom cakes done by them!

$36 of crap

Seriously??? Being new to the immediate area, I was very excited to try this bakery. It was late Friday morning and I was going to go to De Etta's bakery but thought I'd give this place a try. I should've known from three steps in it was going to be a total flop. There was almost zero inventory! I wanted a coffee cake for a guest I was entertaining later that day. However all they had was some decorated cookies, a couple (3) pound cakes and several cupcakes. So I settled for 6 cupcakes, 1 small pound cake and 2 spinach/feta croissants. $36 later I'm back in my car and I broke into the cupcakes...because they "looked" so yummy. Gag gag gag!!! They were stale and hard as a crusty used sponges I bake from scratch and know these had to be nearly a week old!! My bad for not asking, "How old are your goods?!" I grew up going tobudget bakeries for "day-old" goods and I can accept that but I mean c'mon now certainly not $36 good! I'm so surprised they have great reviews...I guess if they're in the made-to-order event cake business they may be good however this is definitely not what I know to be a traditional made fresh daily bread & sweets bakery. I'd drive back to return them however I didn't take a receipt...because I surely didn't expect I'd need one!!! Huge disappointment.

If you are looking for a custom cake or yummy bakery treat then your search is over. We had multiple custom birthday cakes made for our daughter and the cakes we received have been perfect. The decorations are amazing and the cake taste great too. The mother and son bakery chefs/owners have been enjoyable to interact with. We have also had the cookies which are the perfect combination of soft and chewy. I look forward to returning and trying more of their large variety of bakery treats.

The Sweet Spot Bakery made a smashcake for my son's first birthday, and what can I say.... they NAILED IT!!!!!! I spoke with Kelsey and told her we were having a baby safari animal theme, and she was so friendly and patient when helping me choose a great design. It not only looked incredible, but it had funfetti cake and sprinkles inside which were DELICIOUS! This was my first time purchasing from this bakery, and I am definitely going to buy more again!!! The best place for amazing, tasty treats!

Thank- you for making this beautiful cake for my mother's 80th birthday. It was delicious. I would definitely recommend this bakery.

Beware... the baker clearly does NOT double check for details. I have sent a paragraph describing how I'd like my cake to be customized along with a inspiration photo and the name and age. Confirmed multiple times via message and through phone calls with Chris. Arrived day of pick up. The cake was covered up and ready to go. Luckily I asked for a photo of the cake before I left with the cake....Come to find out there were multiple mistakes made...the age was "7" instead of "1". And I feel like he didn't even fix the number just shaped it differently to make it look like a 1. And the name was misspelled... luckily details were in fondant and it was easy to fix. There were missing beach balls around the cake as well. If Chris was not there to fix the issue I wouldn't even pay a dime for the cake. Overall, cake tasted ok too dry and crumbly. Customer experience did not exceed expectation and the baker clearly needs to have an eye for details. I would not recommend this business and I do not plan to book future events with this baker. Look at pics for yourself before booking with this business.

Graduation cake

I'm so grateful to the Chris and Melanie for their design of my daughters graduation cake. They accommodated us on short noticed and designed a beautiful and very tasty cake. Chris is an absolute professional and his heart and spirit are beautiful. I will definitely use this bakery again and will continue to support. If you have an event and need to work with a bakery, I highly suggest The Sweet Spot Bakery. I also ordered cake pops and pretzels. I didn't have any deserts left and I'm still receiving calls on how good the desert table was. Thank you Chris snd Melanie for making my graduation celebration fabulous!!!

Great place with warmth, great service, yummy bakery items, treats for your furry family member (dog) and great coffee. Highly recommended! Best kept secret near Green Trails! Warm fireplace seating, clean area, ample parking. Happy interior. Love love

Brand new bakery and sweet shop opened up in the neighborhood so we had to check it out. Everything looked wonderful. For starters we should grabbed a croissant and the Monkey Bread. Both were great. I am sure we'll be back. Nice cozy atmosphere with sweets, baked goods, and some savory items as well. Looks like decent coffee options as well, but as a home coffee roaster, I have my own personal coffee preferences. Friendly family owned and operated business. Best of luck.

The American Buttercream was great...not cloyingly sweet like a lot of American buttercreams tend to be.

I thought I was calling a bakery. Darla told me she would do the charcuterie tray, mini sandwiches desserts and cake. There's nothing to really look at so she will just text you ideas. I was excited to help out a small, local business. She works out of her home and wants half upfront. Sounds fair but was a little concerned because there's just a tiktok and phone as a contact and was nervous zelleing someone I wasn't totally comfortable with. I decided to only use her for the cake. Well, the day after we firmed up things (but still really no idea what the cake would look like or charcuterie or anything so was not sure what I was buying - no description, no invoice, no nothing but she wants half) she decided she couldn't make the cake. She feels I will be disappointed :-/ We're both pulling ideas off Pinterest or google and mine was no different than hers, so not really sure what happened here. Unfortunately, Im a week out and have to start over. Very disappointing. Feel she shouldn't send me "ideas" of cakes if she cannot produce them! Big waste of my time. Will not be using for for any future orders!

Since I have some dietary restrictions, I called ahead to ask if they used lard or animal fat. The gentleman explained that they use vegetable oil and margarine. I decided to pop in and check it out. The gentleman was very friendly and further explained the ingredients to me. It's very small inside and no seating, so it's take & go. Aside from baked treats, they do also have drip coffee. The way it works is, you grab a tray and tongs and pick out what you like, then they box it up. I went with a chocolate concha and a rice pudding donut. Both items were delicious! The concha sweet bread was light and fluffy, which was a welcome surprise, as I expected it to be dense. It was only $1.09. The rice pudding donut also had an interesting texture (i.e. crisp exterior) and tasted great. It cost $2.05. Not a huge selection, but if you're looking for a sweet tooth fix and want to try out something different, give El Dorado a shot.

The price has gone up since some of the previous reviews that said it was $16 or $20. I also ordered one chocolate Mexican bread that was a dollar something. The food was good but I'm not a fan of overpricing. I might stop in again to look at the other bakery items. You would put the items on a tray and bring them to the register. I wished they had a wrapper that goes on the tray before putting the items on. You can't tell if the trays have been washed or not.

Yuuuup, I'll be here on a monthly basis. They also have a punch card system. Every 12 cupcakes will get you 1 cupcake for free. The inside is super cool, there are numerous spots for photo ops and they even have a ring light and camera holder if interested in using it. My first time visiting I tried the following cupcakes: chai pumpkin latte (daily special and DANGGGG DELICIOUS), Almond wedding (my least favorite but still good, I think almond cupcakes just aren't for me), cookies and cream (divine, rich, 2nd favorite), and the Boston cream (also 2nd favorite lol). All of the cupcakes were moist, fluffy, and full of flavor. They are made daily and you can feel and taste the love. Area 51 is definitely my favorite cupcake spot of all time. I've gone to Area 51 probably every week since finding em and I can't get enough. They also made cupcakes for my baby's gender reveal. They were extremely accommodating and everything turned out perfect! I highly recommend them for custom cakes, cupcakes, or even just grabbing 1 of their daily made cupcakes. SOOO GOOD!
