Cakeology is a bakery that offers gourmet custom sweets and treats! It was my first time ordering a custom cake before. I really appreciated that Cakeology had a website I could refer to which featured all of the flavor options and got a rough range on pricing. You'd be surprised how many bakeries don't have this feature so it definitely saved a lot of time on consultation. I do wish a size chart that had the inches and serving size was posted on the site. I think it would have helped a lot with making a faster decision on choosing a size. I was looking for a cake for my parents' 30th anniversary party. I contacted Kimberly by email with an inspiration picture and what flavors I was looking for. Kimberly was quick in responding and discussed all possible ideas. She provided me with a quote in a timely manner. We had a 3 tier cake. Our bottom layer was pistachio filled with raspberries and creme. Middle tier had yellow cake with tiramisu filling. And the top layer was a devil's chocolate cake filled with strawberries and creme. The design for our cake was pearl themed (for their pearl anniversary) with white roses draped over. It turned out super stunning! It was exactly what we imagined the design to be. My personal favorite flavor had to be the yellow cake with tiramisu filling. The espresso in the filling was the best and super flavorful. The chocolate and strawberries and creme were also very delicious and we wish we chose a bigger size for it. The pistachio cake was good, perhaps just a little more pistachio flavor could really make it stand out. The raspberries and creme was yummy but personally I think the white chocolate mousse may have been a better fit for the pistachio cake. Kimberly did recommend the white mousse but said that the raspberry was also what some people paired it with. We wanted to be fancy and it sounded good but I think white chocolate mousse would've been better suited for our tastes. Noted for next time. I do love that she used fresh fruit for all of the fruit fillings. Overall, we enjoyed the cake! It was stunning and delicious. The pearls and the iridescent sheen to it made it look so elegant. The flowers were gorgeous! We were so pleased with how it looked. As always, I am transparent in my reviews especially when it comes to cost and affordability. It is a custom luxury cake with gourmet flavors so I was expecting a higher cost and it definitely did exceed that expectation. We ordered a 3 tier cake (5 inch, 7 inch, and 9 inch) which serves 45 people. Each tier had a different cake flavor. Because we chose different flavors/filling for each tier, it was an additional $10 per flavor cake/filling. It was about $60 extra to have the 3 different cake flavors and then 3 different fillings. But honestly it was worth the extra charge to have different flavors. Our design had faux flowers and a cake topper which was an additional charge. We did pay for delivery which was about $20 but also something I consider worth it (I've watched too much Cake Boss to even attempt to pick up myself. I already know I'm a klutz and might drop it). Delivery was on time and very easy! Overall, it cost roughly around $300. A bit over my budget, but for our celebration of a milestone, I think it was well worth it. Based on the photos of Cakeology's previous work, I did expect it to be a bit bigger based on just how we perceived the photos. But my recommendation to those that are inexperienced like me is to just grab a ruler so you can visualize the size more accurately. Custom cakes are a luxury but with the right celebration, I think it is well worth it! It's not often we get a fancy cake like this so it's always nice to go big for an event important to you. And it's clear that Kimberly takes pride in her work. With lots of attention to detail, I can only imagine how many hours it took. And it was yummy too with all different types of flavor options she offers. And of course, I'm happy to support local businesses! I will definitely order from Cakeology again- she's got many goodies available and I've been eyeing the s'mores cupcakes! I would recommend Cakeology for intricate cakes that are meant to be a crowd pleaser!

It was our second time ordering a birthday cake with cakeology and Kimberly did a fantastic job again. Communication was clear, delivery was done as agreed and cake looked exactly as pictured. We had a minnie mouse theme and our daughter loved her cake. It was moist, fresh & tasted so good.

Creative and delicious birthday cake for my son, Cakeology is the best!!

Cakeology is hands down the most beautiful, creative and most delicious cakes around! The best, better than all the rest! Kimberly created a beautiful cake for my son's birthday. She was incredibly easy to communicate with, listened to all our requests and created a beautiful memory for us! Incredibly grateful to Cakeology and excited to order again, thank you!

This cake was gorgeous and delicious! Perfect amount of sweetness, moisture, and flavor. We'll definitely order here again.

Our custom cake, Disney Cars themed! (Blocked out the name)

I had the best experience with Cakeology. I reached out a couple of weeks before I needed a cake for my son's birthday and received a prompt reply from the owner, Kimberly. From there the email exchanges were frequent as she asked me to describe what I was looking for and to share any inspiration pictures. She quickly got back to me with some examples and it was exactly what I wanted. Fast forward to the week of the cake due date, I received and invoice for my quote. The day of the party, she hand delivered my cake to my front door. I was so impressed with the craftsmanship as were all the guests at the party. Not only did it look great but it tasted amazing. My guests could not stop raving about how delicious the cake was. I will definitely be reaching out to Cakeology for all my future custom cake needs.

Beautiful cakes that taste great! Highly recommend. Did a wonderful job on my son's birthday cake!

After reading reviews on here I decided to go with Kimberly for my son's 2 year birthday cake. The theme was Thomas. I contacted Kimberly, exchanged many emails and many emails later we decided on what I wanted. FAST FORWARD TO 11/4 day of my son's party. Kimberly showed up a little early, awesome! When she brought the cake in and unboxed it, wow stunning it was perfect. Perfect usually means it wont taste as good as it looks. WRONG, oh my goodness the heavenly taste of this cake!!! So moist, so flavorful, so freakin delicious (I ate 2 big slices)!!! It was chocolate and yellow with chocolate mousse and every single part of it was a dream. The mouse was so perfect and soft the cake was out of this world! 5 stars isn't enough for it!! Honestly they cake was so delicious that it could have been ugly and I wouldn't have cared. Lol Also a big thank you and Bless this woman's heart for being so patient with me! I am very particular about my pastries. (I also was a certified pastry chef) Kimberly was amazing. Very communicative and did everything to make me happy. 10 stars just for customer service alone! This was above and beyond any of my expectations. Cakeology will now be my only go to cake company! I HIGHLY recommend her!

Thank You to Kim!! The cake was probably the best cake I've ever eaten. Cupcake and cookies were also awesome! Our family enjoyed them as well! Cake was moist and very tasty. Cupcakes were also moist and the frosting was light and not too sweet. Cookies were great and decorated very well. We will definitely be return customers. Update - we ordered another cake to celebrate my wife's birthday. Once again Kim exceeded all of our expectations. Everyone loved the Cake! Two orders down and multiple more in our future with Kim.

I've been ordering cakes from Kimberly and each time she never fails to impress me. Her cakes are absolutely delicious, and she has so many incredible flavor combinations to choose from. She's very responsive, flexible, and accommodating. You will not be disappointed ordering from #cakeology..

Awesome Awesome first Birthday party for my munchkin!! I must've had at least ten people tell me how delicious the cake, cookies, and cupcakes were.... and so professional!!!

BEST. CAKE. EVER. I found Cakeology on Yelp when looking for a baptism cake for my daughter. I reached out to Kimberly via email and the magic began!! I gave her an idea of what I was looking for and she came back with the most perfect cake and thank you cookie ideas. Kimberly is super responsive, creative and provides outstanding customer service. The cake and thank you cookies turned out beautifully, but tasted even better! I will for sure use Cakeology for all my future cakes!

Only spoke with this lady for 5 minutes until she accused me of something I was not doing. I was trying to make my friends day special but this lady ruined everything with her attitude. Im a customer who doesn't know the business like she does, so for her to talk to me the way she did was uncalled for. I had no idea my order was unrealistic. I looked at her the cakes, cookies, and cake pops she made and all my requests were something she has done before. I just thought customers should know who they are working with. Good luck..

Everyone loved the cake and sugar cookies! Best cake we have had!

You grab a tray and tongs, then wander through rows of fresh pastries and treats picking out whatever catches your eye. It's such a fun experience and makes you want to try everything (which honestly isn't a bad idea because everything is delicious). I've tried so many items here over the years, and I can confidently say I've never been disappointed. The coffees and teas are also fantastic and pair perfectly with all the baked goodies. This visit, I grabbed the spinach and feta pastry, which is one of my all-time favorites. It's buttery, flaky, packed with flavor, and somehow manages to taste even better every time I get it. For something sweet, you can't go wrong with either the chocolate croissant or the chocolate mousse tart. Both are rich, decadent, and chocolatey without being overwhelmingly sweet. The combination of a savory pastry, a sweet treat, and a good coffee is basically the perfect way to start a weekend morning. Fresh pastries, fun atmosphere, amazing drinks, and consistently delicious food--Tour Les Jours is always worth the stop. We already look forward to our next visit before we've even left!

Out here in deepest Suburbia, sometimes things present a vaguely Disneyesque artifice, where, if…read morethe fantasy world was more advanced, "Quotation Marks" would appear magically in the air around buildings (and, alas, people) indicating irony should be applied as a mitigating factor. This is not to imply in any way those places (or people) are therefore any less in quality or to be avoided. But I digress... I've driven past the "Paris Bistro" here, since it was established, and, unfairly thought "yeah, right". Why? Route 59 is a 1000% American Commerce Zone, rife with every franchise on the docket, and conformity is securely on the menu. And rightly so. Folks out here may have had their success, but they were raised in front of American TV, and their consumer habits developed accordingly, especially with regard to cuisine and eating habits. There are, of course, bona fide Ethnics in the general area, but those are germane to the Communities in residence. (Some FAB Chinese, Indian and Mexican places-q.v.) I am not aware of a burgeoning French settlement anywhere nearby. Around here "Cooper's Hawk" passes for "fine dining", and if you've ever fine-dined, you'll know Cooper's Hawk may parlay a decent feed, but it ain't Alinea, Bubba. In the far Western and Southwestern Chicago 'burbs, folks' Culinary tastes are as conservative as their politics. So whither "Paris Bistro"? It's a handsome suburban building with inviting signage. When you walk in, you pass a bar having an impressive array of boozes. Keep going west past the bar and you're in a room mimicking a rural setting, if a rural setting had curved leather banquettes. There's a more traditional dining room on the other side of the bar, but I didn't go in there. It was daytime, and bright, but when daylight ebbs, I'll bet both rooms are romantic. The service is reserved and accommodating-you're not going to find a wisecracking "Alice" on the staff. The menu actually is pretty accurate as a French Bistro in the USA. Lots of Français on it (in the titles), but the descriptions are all clear English. You don't have translation to fear. The menu is extensive, and features many traditional "Bistro" faves, along with select "American" choices. I was in for Brunch. Disregarding conformity, I ordered the Escargot for Hors D'oeuvre, not that I wanted to, but because I am pathologically incapable of NOT ordering Escargot if they are on the menu before me. They were yum, but I wish there was a softer bread available for sopping the buttery-garlic goodness remaining after the morsels are consumed. As "they" say, a French Chef is judged by their prowess in cooking a simple Omelette, so that's where I went. "Jambon et Gruyere" to be exact. It wasn't a large beast, but it was tasty, light, and properly prepared. No sign of the Rugby-Ball pancake-batter-enhanced behemoth omelettes you'll find in common Coffee shops. Accompanying was a (very) small salad of nice composition, with just enough fruity vinaigrette to satisfy. Also on the plate were tasty and ultra-crispy "shoestring fries". I'm not a slave to potatoes with breakfast. but these were damned good. The problem at hand (so to speak) was the transport from plate to mouth, as they were very thin and very crisp. Both fork and spoon were inefficient. I thought of using the spoon to crush them, thus rendering spoon a contender to preserve my dining decorum. In the end, I bit the bullet and just picked them up in hand, decorum be damned. I wish I had a bucket of these for movie-watching snacks at home. The coffee was a conundrum. It arrived with a strongish smell, like it was burnt and past its prime, but lacked the acrid flavor such as found in a forlorn brew. It was actually a fine, bold, cup of VERY dark roast. It's a nice, sophisticated (but not snooty) resto, dignified but not stuffy. If you need to have a business breakfast/brunch, this is a perfect place. Also, if you're not in the mood for the hustle and bustle of a noisy coffee shoppe. Prices a bit higher than you might expect, but... I quite enjoyed both the bread and circuses here, and while I never mistook myself from being anywhere else than in Naperville (not Paris), I caught the vibe, and it was nice. I am officially pissed at myself for not stopping here sooner. No "quotation marks" for this place. Throwing 4 stars (for now), and I'll be back here very soon for dinner.

That room is usually where they sit families. It was not our choice and we voiced our opinion to sit in the dining room. The staff immediately switched everything to the warm and inviting dining room. The food provided was tasty from the mini sandwiches to the tartines to the sweet treats. I have to say there was an inconsistency with sizing. Some were generous and some were lacking. They could've done a better job with consistency so we all got the same sizes. The tea service was very cute but you were only able to choose a couple teas. I've been to other teas at Suzette's and Pinecone Cottage where the tea is unlimited, as well as they ask if you would like another tasting of something that you really liked. I felt for the money this tea service was limited as well as not consistent. It was a great way to spend time with my Pilates friends, though. I could see myself doing this again if there were improvements made and they were more generous by offering an additional taste.
