OMG OMG... Get the Ube filled brioche donut!…read more I've been to several Tous Les Jours and this location is hands down my favorite. It's fairly large with several indoor spots to sit and stay awhile. The staff members were so nice!! I recommend coming earlier in the day to try and take advantage of everything being stocked. I came in on a Friday around 430pm and although the options were slim, I was able to get a few delicious items. Back to the Ube donut. UGH!! FULLY filled that I spilled so much of it on myself when I took the first bite. Worth it haha. The Ube actually tastes like Ube. AH! I cannot rave enough about how good this was. It was creamy, sweet but not overly sweet and so frickin delicious. The dough of the donut itself was perrrrrrf too. I actually came back the following day and got another 2 Ube donuts haha. I also got a red bean donut, a slice of the strawberry cloud cake a slice of the chocolate cloud cake and the soufflé cheesecake. I normally like red bean but I think bc the Ube donut was so good, it was impossible to compete with. The strawberry (and chocolate) cloud cakes were fluffy and not overly sweet. I had them the day after I bought it and both were still moist.

My husband and I stopped in Sunday afternoon and bought a bunch of pastries and two large drinks;…read moreone was an iced ube latte and the other was an iced honey ginger. The Ube latte was almost 7 dollars and it was literally all milk with zero Ube flavor at all, it was the most disappointing Ube latte we've ever had. The iced ginger looked like the Korean ginger tea jars they sell at H-Mart, nothing fancy. The name of the bakery sounds fancy because it's in French and there are locations all over Illinois. They sell French and Korean infused pastries and cakes that are a bit pricier than most. I think they should at least have nice boxes to put the pastries in rather than wrapping it up in plastic and stuffing it in a plastic bag. There weren't many options and service was eh. The lady who rang us up wasn't very friendly and ignored my husband a few times.

After watching a Netflix show on Mexican treats, I had an itch for Mexican baked goodies. I…read moreremembered El Dorado since I used to live nearby, although I had never tried it. Since I have some dietary restrictions, I called ahead to ask if they used lard or animal fat. The gentleman explained that they use vegetable oil and margarine. I decided to pop in and check it out. The gentleman was very friendly and further explained the ingredients to me. It's very small inside and no seating, so it's take & go. Aside from baked treats, they do also have drip coffee. The way it works is, you grab a tray and tongs and pick out what you like, then they box it up. I went with a chocolate concha and a rice pudding donut. Both items were delicious! The concha sweet bread was light and fluffy, which was a welcome surprise, as I expected it to be dense. It was only $1.09. The rice pudding donut also had an interesting texture (i.e. crisp exterior) and tasted great. It cost $2.05. Not a huge selection, but if you're looking for a sweet tooth fix and want to try out something different, give El Dorado a shot.

This is a good Mexican bakery. It is on the smaller side. There is a good size parking lot. When…read moreyou walk in, you'll see bakery goods on the right, desserts straight ahead, and Mexican bread by the counter. I ordered a dozen tamales. It's about $24. The price has gone up since some of the previous reviews that said it was $16 or $20. I also ordered one chocolate Mexican bread that was a dollar something. The food was good but I'm not a fan of overpricing. I might stop in again to look at the other bakery items. You would put the items on a tray and bring them to the register. I wished they had a wrapper that goes on the tray before putting the items on. You can't tell if the trays have been washed or not.

Yuuuup, I'll be here on a monthly basis. They also have a punch card system. Every 12 cupcakes will get you 1 cupcake for free. The inside is super cool, there are numerous spots for photo ops and they even have a ring light and camera holder if interested in using it. My first time visiting I tried the following cupcakes: chai pumpkin latte (daily special and DANGGGG DELICIOUS), Almond wedding (my least favorite but still good, I think almond cupcakes just aren't for me), cookies and cream (divine, rich, 2nd favorite), and the Boston cream (also 2nd favorite lol). All of the cupcakes were moist, fluffy, and full of flavor. They are made daily and you can feel and taste the love. Area 51 is definitely my favorite cupcake spot of all time. I've gone to Area 51 probably every week since finding em and I can't get enough. They also made cupcakes for my baby's gender reveal. They were extremely accommodating and everything turned out perfect! I highly recommend them for custom cakes, cupcakes, or even just grabbing 1 of their daily made cupcakes. SOOO GOOD!

We stopped at Insomnia Cookies for dessert after having lunch next door at Fat Rosie's. Overall,…read morethe cookies were really good, and we definitely prefer them to Crumbl. We grabbed a deluxe four-pack with the S'mores, Salted Caramel, and two Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup cookies. They were served warm, soft, and gooey, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup was easily my favorite; rich, chocolatey, and loaded with peanut butter! The store was clean and bright, but service was surprisingly slow considering we were the only people there at the time. Two of our four cookies were also broken while being put into the box. I want to give them a slight pass since the cookies are served warm and are pretty delicate, but it was still a bit annoying, especially considering the four-pack cost $21.56. And that's really my biggest gripe; more than $5 per cookie is honestly outrageous and EXTREMELY hard to justify, even for a specialty dessert shop IMO. That said, we still really enjoyed them and think they're much better than Crumbl. I'd absolutely eat them again; I just wouldn't make a habit of it at that price.

The parking lot is a bit chaotic but they do have a few 15 min parking spots right out front to help with that since folks are usually coming and going. We walked in and took a few minutes took look through the menu, when we went to order we were told 2 of the 3 flavors were out and we would need to wait 15 minutes for it. We decided to wait since that way it would be extra fresh and yummy. There was only one person and he really wasn't thrilled to be there and you can tell in the tone of his voice not only to us but to everyone working. It got pretty busy after dinner so I get it but it was a bit off putting just listening. After about 20 minutes or so we got our cookies and it was delish! I almost wish we got more because the cookies didn't even make it home! Overall, a delicious experience!
