The cost of a Misty Slush here in Vienna: Small: $6.99 Medium: $7.99 Large: $8.99 The cost of a Misty Slush in Springfield and Burke: Small: $2.99 Medium: $3.89 Large: $4.69 This is way above DOUBLE the price!!! I can get a large elsewhere for $3.70 less than a small here. This is price gouging at a completely shameful and unethical level, vs. fellow franchises no less! I absolutely love a Dairy Queen moment but this Vienna Store has seen better days. I purchased an ice cream cake here and received the most awful customer service in the dead of the day. Communication was slow and the customization of our cake looked positively amateur. I took my terrible looking cake home and paid over $50 it .. mostly because I was too stunned to speak but I was really disappointed by the product and service I received that day. The atmosphere is overall unpleasant and unsanitary as well. read more

I love the the ice cream here I always get the Oreo blizzard and it never isn't good. The inside has plenty of seating but the issue is that they typically only have one person working there so it takes a while for the ice cream to come out and there's typically a line. read more

Love the blizzards! So glad to see the new Mini size on the menu, which is the perfect decadent 6 oz sweet treat! It can be overwhelming to choose from so many chocolatey flavors - Brownie blizzard, Brownie Batter, Chocolate Extreme...what's the difference? Some of the special monthly flavors like the Hot Cocoa Oreo is simply vanilla and chocolate soft serve twist blended with Oreos, nothing really special. The Brownie Batter blizzard with brownie bites and brownie dough was heavenly. I wish I hadn't opted to add the Cookie Dough bites for $1 extra, which tasted stale and ended up picking them out. Service was great as the Indian lady patiently made this request. The classic Oreo blizzard is fine but nothing particularly memorable and definitely prefer the Brownie Batter blizzard! Will be returning and may venture to a new Royal blizzard with a rich fudge filling or try a chocolate dipped cone! read more

We both decided that we wanted Dairy Queen soft serve. The closest place was the store. I started reading the reviews and said OMG, I don't think so. Listen to how bad these reviews are. So we got there at 7 o'clock on a hot July day and there were only two other people which I guess wasn't surprising since it's kind of early for ice cream on a summer night. I got a small vanilla dipped in chocolate, my husband got a small vanilla with strawberry topping. I gave it a five because it was exactly what you would expect from Dairy Queen. The young man behind the counter was polite and friendly. It was really fine. The woman that I believe people were talking about came in while we were here she checked our freezers and then went in the back and we were here for like 20 minutes and never saw her again so I really can't say anything about her except that she wasn't on the phone like some people and other reviews complained about read more

Not an overall bad experience however the ice cream used for my Oreo Blizzard tasted unlike the traditional Dairy Queen blend that I am used to and more like McDonald's ice cream. There was not creamy element to this Blizzard and my wife and I recognized this taste almost immediately and accurately. I'd also like to see the staff turn the Blizzard completely upside down, topsy-turvy, which is supposed to be the customary procedure for serving Blizzards to customers. I worked at DQ when I was younger and was looking forward to having some for the first time in a while. Unfortunately, this location is odd. When I went in, two people were waiting and there was no employee to be seen. A woman emerged from the back and gave them their order. I asked about the BOGO blizzard promotion, and she said I needed a coupon to get it but wouldn't tell me how to get one. I got the new Reese's cookie dough flavor, and she vanished into the back to retrieve ingredients. The cookie dough tasted like banana, making the whole thing gross. And so much more expensive at this location. read more

2/2/20 The woman working today was pleasant and greeted each person who entered the shop, but she had a habit of hiding in the back of the shop till someone entered the place. Maybe 30 seconds would go by before she showed up to take an order. Not the best way to run a business, but it is Dairy Queen after all. Aside from this, the place was okay. Went here about an hour ago to fulfill an ice cream craving i had been having for a few days, no other place was open so my boyfriend and I stopped here! I think they may be a little understaffed as there was only one employee taking our order. However, she was kind and had a good attitude throughout her night. I hope they're able to hire more help, thank you to her for giving us yummy ice cream! We got the chocolate chip cookie dough and the Oreo mocha fudge, I would give the mocha fudge a 9/10. The coffee is a slight taste which I like because I'm not much of a coffee person, the Oreo cookies really tied it all together! read more

My royal cheesecake blizzard was a vanilla/strawberry smoothie. It did not have any of the cheesecake crumbs or other ingredients mixed with it. This is the only item I order from DQ so I know what it should taste like and all of the ingredients in it. The woman was not helpful when I brought this up. Poor service and quality. read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER The blizzard treat is so melted that it becomes watery. The popsicle placed on top of the blizzard treat was also melted and deformed. I hate coming here because the woman is ALWAYS on the phone, literally always. She walks around talking on speaker phone while helping customers. I can barely place my order because I have to compete with her talking WHILE I'm ordering. She doesn't even end her call while customers are there, she just keeps going on and on and on. Service is insufferable! We local and this is the only DQ in town. We understand that our comments can hurt a business we frequent all the time BUT it is getting to much. Every time we visit this location there is nobody at the front desk. We can hear the arguments/conversations happening in the back room but nobody steps out to help. Today was another one of those excruciating waits. "Hello"...."hello"! Nobody stepped out for 5 minutes while people stand in line waiting. If this was an once off then obviously we understand but every time! Come on owner/s. People are rooting for you on Vienna Foodie yet you do not provide service remotely expectable . To add insult to injury when the girl finally showed up she had no mask and no gloves on. Keep this up and we will be reading about you in the towns history books. read more

Dear maaji, even a young person would not be able to manage this store by themselves. Please tell your Scrooge son to stop being such a tightwad and hire a few teens to help you out. I have to wonder if he is also skimping on ingredients given comments about the taste being off. Our group of 4 stopped in for blizzards yesterday afternoon and there was a line with 2 people ahead of us and already 1 person behind us. The lady behind the counter was all by herself and couldn't have been any nicer, she was very sweet and personable, moved efficiently to make our order, and didn't seem frazzled at all given how busy it was and seemed to be by herself. I made sure to give a tip as she was so pleasant, but I truly hope management knows what a gem they have in that nice lady and give her a raise as clearly from the help wanted sign in the window they are short-staffed. read more

This DQ only serves ice cream. For starters the price is way higher than other DQs I have been too. It was almost $50 for just 5 people (mix of blizzards and sundaes). When she was making the ice cream she was in a very slow pace. The worker was on her phone while we were eating our food and being very loud and obnoxious. Nothing amazing, but it hits that sweet spot and crazing for the signature DQ items when you want them once a year or so -- Blizzard, Peanut Butters Parfait, etc. This location gets a high mark for the very friendly cashier, but a low mark for having all the chairs and tables crammed into one corner of the store (very weird). If you sit down, and another family also sits down, the first family is trapped! Not even one place to get out unless everyone shuffles out! Ack! read more

Worst Dairy Queen experience I've ever had. My husband ordered a medium cone and I ordered medium soft serve in a cup. She put the soft serve in a medium sized blizzard cup and charged me the price of a blizzard, but only gave me soft serve with no toppings added. my husband's medium cone was $4.50 and my medium cup of ice cream served in a blizzard cup was $8.00, which was ridiculous considering I ordered ice cream and not a blizzard. If I had ordered a blizzard, I would've ordered toppings to be added in, which I did not. She was also on her phone the entire time and seemed annoyed that we had even come in the shop at all. The customer service was terrible. I asked for a military discount which she said she does not do. And we had a Dairy Queen gift card which she said she could not use. I love this Dairy Queen. The family who owns it is very nice and I particularly find the wife very friendly. Very different from the other Dairy Queen franchises I have been to, which all have a corporate feel. I am disappointed with this place. First, the service was awful: she was busy being on phone, so even though there was nobody in the store, we had to wait. Second, the lady did not let us do the upside down test. My blizzard looked really watery, so my friends asked the lady that we are going to do the upside down flip. But the lady started yelling at us. There was a poster that indicated "Upside down or free" that says blizzard can be flipped and if it falls, a free coupon. Why bother putting a poster if you are not going to let your customers do it? I will not go back here and I will not recommend this place to anyone. I had to argue with the cashier to get the food that I ordered. Then he added a two dollar charge for something I didn't order. Crazy! It was the worst customer service I've EVER received and I will not be returning because of it. I went there yesterday, Sep 13, at 7 p.m., and the lady who worked there needs to be replaced. I went with my dad, my sister, and her friend, and the old lady who was working treated ALL of us awful. She was on TikTok as I was taking my order and was rudely pointing at me. When I was trying to talk to her she still was on her phone. Not a "hello" or "what would you like". None at all. As I was thinking about what flavor to order she ordered for me! She said "Oreo" when I said chocolate. When I asked if they take Apple Pay, she said nothing and not helping me. When my family was ordering their blizzard, she was trying to change them but trying to convince them to order a large size! She didn't have ANY customer service at all. I sat down with my father to enjoy my ice cream, she kept on looking at us. Every time I would catch her just watching us like we were going to steal or something. As soon as she finished, she went to the back. There was another customer who showed up and it took some time to come back. She said "hello" to him, but not me and my family! She was so rude! Don't even come here to enjoy ice cream just go to Ben and Jerry's which is near here and has way better customer service. I'm surprised she hasn't gotten fired because of her poor customer service. This is the Dairy Queen that knows my husband a little too well but that's his own fault for visiting a little too much. Anyway this particular evening I was craving ice cream and even though I had a dairy sensitivity I knew I had to take extra precautions. We went there around 9 pm and the line was out the door due to baseball kids getting tons of ice cream. I was annoyed by the line but the workers were working hard to make the orders as fast they could between two people. I know it may seem kind of lame to review a Dairy Queen, but I just love the sweet simplicity of a vanilla cone. Sue me. This little place is in a strip mall and has virtually no space inside. The few tables that they have are set up in the best way possible, but it does create a bit of a backup with the line(s). Fine. Ice cream is worth the wait. HORRIBLE customer service. I ordered a blizzard with added snickers for an extra charge. I paid, was given my blizzard, and noticed it was missing the snickers. I mentioned this to the owner who gave me a cup with the missing snickers pieces and told me to mix it in myself. I was shocked. This Dairy Queen is fast, friendly, and cheap! The selection is pretty good sized and they never jiff you on a full cup of ice cream. It's a small space like Amanda said but I've actually never had to wait in a line more than a couple minutes. 5 at the MOST. Maybe it's because I go late? They do NOT serve food like some of the other Dairy Queens, just the sweets. So if you want some chicken fingers, you're SOL. read more

So - I recently just went to a DQ for the first time in prooobably 6 or 7 years. This visit made me understand why. When we arrived into the restaurant it was small and smelled like sweat. I looked at the flurry menu to see if they had a mint chocolate chip flurry that I was thinking about from my last visit. Unfortunately the menu didn't appear to have it. Luckily though I decided to ask just in case they might have it. They had it!!!! I was really excited about it because I reeaally like mint chocolate chip flavored ice cream. When I finally received it I was excited, but hesitant about eating it. The flurry had green food dye running down the side of the ice cream. The flurry had the same color as a piece of broccoli. Mint green isn't that dark. Right? Slightly gross looking but I can't complain about how it tasted. Not bad.
