A local summer favorite. Tried the new fruity shell - it kinda tastes like fruity pebbles. I always get a mini blizzard - the mini is enough if you can't stomach a whole cup of ice cream. Service and incorrect pricing. Really really poor. Was overcharged by a dollar on a 5 dollar blizzard and then was told it was tax - right, 20%....! Inadequate and immature teenagers told me they couldn't help me. "It was due to a higher power!" Obviously it's not about the dollar - but this total lack of service was really frustrating. So so poor. You can't let a business be run by kids. Step up. read more

I'm torn about how to rate this place since I haven't yet had a bad experience, it's just not my favorite location. I come here because it's close to home, and I can get a blizzard when I want one, but I would prefer another DQ for whatever reason. The good part is that the staff here moves pretty quick, even when the lines are long. My order is completed correctly and I haven't had a problem. But, this is an awkward location for a variety of reasons. the parking lot is impossible to make a left into and its super tiny. I'm surprised no one has gotten into an accident or been run over yet here. Very limited seating and its outdoors only. I know this DQ has been here forever, but I would rather go to one down the street where I can get in and out a lot easier. read more

Received a coupon in the mail for Buy 1 blizzard, get another for 99 cents this evening. We haven't been to DQ in years, but decided to take our girls there. Service was quick and friendly, however was told that this type of coupon was not accepted at this location. I did not see a sign on the exterior door, but after reading another Yelpers review, realized I didn't check the cashiers window. I was a bit disappointed since we ended up paying ~$12 for 2 blizzards, but at least we know for next time. read more

Not looking to get into the whole mask debate- but I'm really saddened by what I saw at this Dairy Queen today. Went in to get an ice cream cake for a birthday. Not real busy, maybe 6 or 8 customers. Over half are not wearing masks. I then see an elderly man get out of his car to come in- maybe 85 years old- wearing a mask. He walks in, sees that the couple next to him aren't wearing masks- and backs way up. Another couple without masks walks up behind him- he sees them coming, and just leaves. I was hoping he would wait in his car as I was going to offer to get his ice cream and bring it back out but he was gone. I actually called DQ from my car to let them know what I saw, I don't know maybe it's just me but I was saddened by seeing this old man leave empty handed when he probably intentionally came during slow hours.... The worker said that the owner of this location said that they aren't allowed to ask people to wear masks. Mr. OWNER- Maybe you want to reconsider that... at least have mask required hours or days. Those guests at very high risk like this gentleman should be able to enjoy a Sunday ice cream cone with minimized risk. read more

This is my childhood. I have been going to Diary Queen ever since I was a toddler. I grew up with this ice cream store. When I was running track in middle and high school we would have our annual Dairy Queen run and that was always something I would look forward to doing. This is family friendly as there is an outside seating for nice days. My family loves this place. One thing that is bad is the parking it is in the middle off to the side of the intersection and it is hard to enter the parking lot. Therefore it is good to just walk there. I usually get the cotton candy blizzard but I enjoy the slushie with ice cream *forgot the name*. No longer accepting paper coupons unless their address is on the coupon. We also saw a notice taped on the glass next to the ordering window that says this. We had stopped in for an ice cream and brought along a coupon we received in the mail but was told they do not honor it and could be used nearby in Shelby Township instead, but not here. They will however honor coupons from your mobile app, but will not give points with the app. Still a good place for a quick ice cream, but wanted to give everyone heads up before they go here. read more

This is a very clean Dairy Queen. If my memory serves me correctly it's been here for quite a long time. It is also a joint orange Julius stand, although maybe all of the dairy queens are!! But they have friendly staff and the facility is very clean and organized. read more

This location is not interested in your business. Website says open until 9, at 8:30 door is locked and open sign is off. The previous owners were friendly and welcomed your business. They were open until 10p weeknights and 11p in the summer and it was always busy. They don't take the opportunity to open the last days of schools so kids can get a treat. Now It's a waste of a Dairy Queen now. So sad. read more

If you want to go to Dairy Queen, this is clearly the best Dairy Queen anywhere that I've been. Rather than just having the standard Dairy Queen fare, they have probably over 30 different flavors of Blizzards. The staff is always wonderfully friendly (usually from Rochester High School), they're friendly to groups in the community, and though I've never met him, I've heard wonderful things about the owner. I'd definitely recommend it for: families, groups of friends, a random treat, a late-afternoon break from going to the Rochester Duck Park, groups after sporting events (like little league or soccer games), and really anytime you feel like doing something on a summer evening. Conveniently near the library and nice areas to walk around downtown, too. I really couldn't pick a better hang out for in Rochester- probably why so many people are usually there. Careful! So cool that this has been here since 1964! (pun intended) This is one of the best run Dairy Queens I have ever seen. The staff is always friendly and they can really handle the volume of people on a busy evening. As already mentioned they have great selection of Blizzard flavors. this store charges more than a dollar more per item listed on the Dairy Queen website. owner is taking advantage of customers and price gauging. $3.99 for a mini blizzard when DQ website shows price as $2.69. When I questioned it, I was advised, quite rudely, "Well, those are the prices and every DQ is different." I hate it when consumers are taken advantage of. ridiculous!!! read more

This is by far the best place to get ice-cream in Rochester. If it is your first time here I recommend any of the Blizzards. I usually order the chocolate x-treme. It can get very busy some nights but it is well worth the wait! The staff here is amazingly nice! It also has a great place to sit outside and watch the traffic go by. read more

While i was in line for 15 minutes the employees would stop making the desserts and walk to fellow employees to talk about something non work related. this happened often. the young lady who appeared to be the manager would keep coming from the back or the other counter and have workers stop to show them her phone. there was a total lack of urgencey altogether. thye basicaly will stp making desserts while they are p[acked to talk and bs with thier copworkers or look at thier phones. they also used the same dirty rag that they wipe down the counters and machines with to wipe down the cups you eat out of. dont go if you are concerned about cleanluieness or time. read more

This was my second time visiting family in Rochester/Rochester Hills in the last 40 days. I have 3 young nephews and a niece. We love this particular Dairy Queen because it right in the old Rochester main strip, easy parking, clean and super friendly staff. Service is also very fast which is helpful because there are long lines at certain times. read more
