They have a menu that changes monthly, along with special items for holidays and other special occasions. These were for my birthday and a nice handwritten card was included. The ribbon was $1.50 extra but added to celebratory occasion. I had a plate that matched so used it to create a nice photo, including adding a candle and making a wish! Not only are the cupcakes beautiful, they taste as good as they look! Another plus is each box comes with instructions for storing and handling. I'm already planning my next visit!

This pastry shop offers an afternoon tea (for a limited time only) of which I was able to get a reservation for my friends and I. We chose to have a a warm main and soup along with the tea service. Everything, and I mean every single item we were served, tasted fantastic and was beautifully presented; from the same-day made breads and croissants for our little sandwiches to the spinach pie and soups to the small sweets and scones. The sweets: macarons with mango buttercream, lemon and lime cheesecake bites, mini cakes with buttercream frostings, selection of bars and cranberry scones. And the lemon curd! It's apparently made with over 40 egg yolks and was simply amazing. We were very fully satiated and it was very reasonably priced compared to other afternoon teas I've sampled in metro Detroit. I have since gone back twice to try more pastries and buy more of the lemon cheesecake along with lime flavor - very light with the right amount of sweet on a thick buttery pastry crust. I also tried their bumpy cupcakes which I dare to say tastes much better than the original Saunders bumpy cake! - the moist crumb of the cake, the chocolaty taste and of course the buttercream. Many other bakeries have a bumpy cake but NONE taste as good as this one. This place is not like most other bakeries or pastry shops whereby they load up their baked goods/frostings with a lot of sugar and sell at high prices. This is a professional pastry shop which makes high quality pastries and is priced comparable and reasonably. The place itself is quaint, fairly small inside with a couple tables to enjoy a coffee and pastry. It's also kind of hidden in the shopping plaza, tucked in the back corner. When you first walk in you will not find cases full of different cakes and pastries, although there are some cookies, brownies, biscottis, bars and croissants available, everything else is made to order to ensure freshness. I would rather wait a day or two to make sure I get a fresh pastry vs taking a gamble at another bakery that has a case full of 1-3 day old baked goods. For those in the know, they place orders 1-2 days in advance and or will ask what she has available in the back.
