OVERPRICED PACZKI ALERT!! We stopped by Mannino's bakery last year (2025) on Paczki day thinking that we can pick up a couple of these "glorified donuts" at a reasonable price. Boy were we wrong!! Basic Paczki's (chocolate, etc), $32 PER DOZEN.... Yes, you read right, for only 12. Is that a deal or what??! Italian Paczki's (Italian Cream, etc), $39 PER DOZEN..... $4.39 EACH!!! For a glorified high calorie donut folks! Sorry Mannino's, gave it a try, and put up with the rushed service, but never again! The bakery was clean - I'll give them that! Have been here before for random sweet treats, but came here to try their pąckzis this year. Every year for the past six years we have tried a new bakery for their pąckzis and have even been to places like the New Palace Bakery in Hamtramck and the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy. All had pretty good pąckzis but none where we definitely wanted to get it again the following year. The ones we tried in years past...some didn't have enough filling, some tasted like a regular doughnut, and some were too dry. The pąckzis here at Manninos were moist and filled full with whatever filling. The raspberry glazed ones were the best looking and tasting one in our opinion (the 3 white glazed ones in the picture). If you prefer a heavier filling to doughnut ratio, then this is the place to go! We will be back next year! read more

I bought 3 chocolate eclairs last Wednesday at 1:30. I had asked when they were made and was told that very same day. Had them for dessert that same day 4 hours later. They were dry, skimpy filling of custard and chocolate on top didn't taste right. You could see a lot of air in the shell. Plus the fact they were $3.49 EACH. I don't recommend them. $11.07 in total for only 3! They were not made the same day I bought them. So disappointed. In fact I had asked how much their cannolis were and lemon slices and they were even more than the eclairs. The cashier stated "Everyone's prices are High". I won't be returning here. read more

I went in last minute and bought her a "7 sisters" cake- Fun fact, she's born the 7th daughter so it was just fitting. We got so many compliments, usually no one ever eats the birthday cake. The stars are for the quality of the baked goods. NOT THE RUDE STAFF! At Christmas and at Easter I called ahead and paid ahead for my desserts. Christmas time a lot of the orders were stacked on the counter and it was a free for all search to find your order. Today you entered the bakery and a girl who couldn't spell or hear took your name and looked for it on a list. She then gave you a slip of paper than you gave to someone behind the counter. I did that. 5 minutes later no order so I asked someone to check on her. There were very few people in the store at this point and several young girls were standing around. I asked someone to help me with getting some additional items out of the counter. Even though they were standing there I was told I had to wait for my girl who disappeared She never came back to tell me she was having trouble finding my order. They found my items and took them to the counter. I said I want additional items and was ignored. I will say that at that point I said you guys need a better system and grabbed my cupcakes out of her hand. I spent $85.00 for a cake and 12 cupcakes. I understand busy times and holiday rushes. However, customers who pre order and prepay should be assisted first. And the young girls need to lose the attitude. read more

My husband and I just got married at the end of September. He's Italian and his family comes here for many desserts and pastries. When I was considering who to go through for our wedding cake, Mannino's was the obvious choice! I don't have very many photos since we are still waiting to get them back from the photographer. We ordered a small, 1-tier cake just for my husband and I to eat, and 170 cannoli for the rest of our wedding guests. We had half with chocolate chips, and half with nuts. They were a big hit and all of our Italian family members loved them! We purchased a delicious Strawberry Lemonade cake for a family birthday. It was yellow cake with strawberry and lemon filling. The cake was moist and yummy, although a bit on the sweet side. We would get it again. They have a wide variety of Italian cookies to choose from. If you like Italian cookies you'll probably like these. I will definitely be back next year on Fat Tuesday for more. The Paczki are huge and absolutely filled to bursting with filling. Each paczek is iced with a corresponding flavor to the filling (i.e. strawberry with strawberry frosting) except vanilla Bavarian crème/custard with chocolate frosting.
