Absolutely rude and disrespectful when I went in on Holy Saturday to purchase an Easter cake. I am a military veteran and have a registered service dog for CPTSD. The lady with longer than shoulder length blonde curly hair in her 50s said to a younger female employee to wait on her number just get her what she needs and get the filth out of here!!!! Had a piece of Birthday Cake this Saturday after dinner at Cloverleaf . Cakes not always my favorite, but this one was fabulous. My niece Abigail ordered a white (or yellow?) layer cake with Strawberry Mousse instead of regular icing. The cake was moist and tender, but it was the frosting (Mousse) that raised this one to highest levels. Yep! I'm definitely gushing; it was that delicious. The taste was great and light; not overly sweet as most frostings are. It was slightly sweet with tiny tang as though raspberries were mixed in. read more

I was in the neighborhood for a meeting so I stopped in Vito's for some bread and pastries. Vito's is a nice little family bakery. The bread is good, the pastries were good, the breadsticks by the lb are good. Mine were a little stale. The bread wasn't my favorite compared to Bommarito's on the eastside. Vito's is good but not my favorite by comparison. Just my two cents. read more

I'm so glad we have these opportunities to voice our opinions. The original owner of Vito's was a man from Sicily, the store was always clean, service was amazing, I still remember the Sicilian cart with the horses that was displayed on the shelf , the store was sold, I do not know how many times now. I do not live in Michigan anymore but when I visit Vito's is always on my list. I was just in there last week, "Wow". 16.00 for a pound of cookies, that somehow got smaller, the cannolis were soggy, the muffaletta was gross, the store was not capped up. It was dirty, especially the showcase windows when you first walk in and the girl that waited on me obviously Did didn't wanna be there that day and it clearly showed.. my friend had another young lady waiting on her who was Amazing! So what happen? Maybe everyone praises you but let me tell you it was such a disappointment. Where ever Mr Vito is I do not think he would be pleased with what you have done with the place or the food. I'm sure the owners or shareholders won't care about this review because Vito has such a good reputation that was built on the original owners and so people are habitual to habits.. Best Italian bakery in the Metro area. Worth the time and money. Best cassata cake too.

I came into town and, at some point, it became clear it was going to be vital to experience some sort of dessert-provided joy. We swept into Vito's at an off-time, when traffic was bad given all the construction, and we filled up on cannoli (ricotta and cream), eclair, tiramisu, almond logs, fig cookies and cassata cake. Everything was incredible. Even the fig cookies, and I can't stand those things. But if you like them, you need to order them here. The cannoli have shrunk a bit since I last had them, but they were still the best ever, both the cream and ricotta. The tiramisu was absolutely the best we have ever had, and we're Sicilian/Italian and we've sampled the world. Just saying. Yet, the experience inhaling the cassata cannot be compared. I don't really see how Heaven could do any better than the cassata cake we enjoyed. It had more cinnamon in its cannoli filling than the cannoli did, plus the combo of soft, moist vanilla cake and puffy, perfectly sweet whip cream frosting and milk chocolate chunky shavings was so amazing. I didn't have much discipline taking photos, but I've got a couple attached. We were really having a tough trip with family health issues, and came in to Vito's giddy with sleep deprivation and starved, particularly starved of flavor. This experience was relieving and healing. And I know it would not be prudent to eat here often, but bakeries like this have their place in the community and thank goodness these folks are still around and going strong. Plenty of room for powerchairs/wheelchairs, so load up! read more

One of the best cannoli fillings you will ever have! Cassata Cakes (cannoli cake )are a must try! I like the custard/cream cannoli filling, ricotta cheese would be my second choice. I was raised making cannoli shells with the filling as a custard/cream leaving this is my preference. They have both to choose choose from. Little place in a small strip mall. Don't pass it by. If you enjoy cannolis you have to try the Cartocci. It is a long hollow donut, shaken In cinnamon sugar and...... filled with either cannoli cream or ricotta cheese cannoli filling. OMG so worth splurging on!!!! I also have to try that muffuletta sandwich! read more

I love this place! It's local, its friendly & it's got the the best lobster tails. The bakery is full of Italian sweet treats-delicious biscottis, butter cookies, cannolis, cakes....I love the cannolis and lobster tails here. The lobster tails (not pictured but eaten) are made with phyllo dough and stuffed with a mix of custard & cream. Omg...I could eat 1/2 dozen of these. They are also beautiful so make for a nice dessert if you're taking over a gift for someone. Disappointed in the cannoli's again. Been ordering them for years. Last several times, the cream is a dollop on each end and they are not filled through the middle. We often cut them in half and the center is always empty. As decades long customers we feel ripped off, and at $3 each, expect the cream to be filled through. Will likely try other competitors in the future. read more

Unbelievable cakes but you will pay a higher price. Everything is made fresh. The cannoli's are light and fresh. Cookies are $13.99 a pound which is pricey since they are small. My family and I have been enjoying this bakery for more than 45 years. Knowing the bakery has been sold and the original owners do not run it anymore I expected some change. Having guests from out of town for the weekend and a family wedding, my first instinct was to head to Vito's for the coffee cakes and cookies we always enjoyed. Sadly this was a mistake, as the cookies were not at all what I know they should be. The beloved "S" shape cookies did not taste the same and were so drowned in sugar glazing that you couldn't even tell it is an "s" shape. Even the sugar glazing had no flavor. The coffee cakes did not have the wonderful taste we have come to expect either. Not sure who's in charge here now, but if they want to stay in business they had better get their act together. I will definitely think twice about making this my go to bakery from now on. read more

This is the Clinton Twp version of Cake Boss's Bakery or Astoria (in Greektown). Italian pastries, cookies, donuts galore. Try their apple fritters as they are so good. They also sell fancy pastries like the lobster tail (just like Cake Boss!). They also have an assortment of mini sugar cookies that are sold by the pound. We bought a apple fritter, Kit Kay cake slice, canoli. All are very delicious. We visit this bakery each time we are in town visiting family. Be sure to check for their current hours as they are often opened later than most bakeries. read more
